IMO, St Louis Pizza is bizarrely overrated. I love all the different kinds of pizza all over the Northeast and Midwest, but the stuff here in STL has yet to really grab me. They have their own style, but it doesn't really choke my chicken. Maybe I just need to try more of it. This chain was the one that I was told to go to if I wanted to really sample the local flavor. Basically little squares of sugary cardboard that were way overpriced. Having said that, it's a local specialty and the servers were really nice so three stars is fine. I love Imo's Pizza. I'm not ashamed to admit it in this day of designer pizzas and provel shaming. I placed an online order on a Tuesday evening and the website directed me to this Spring st store when the So Hampton store is actually much closer to the delivery location. I didn't realize until after the order was placed. Only complaint is they took about an hour to deliver. By that time we were all ravenous! It's imos pizza. I love it. They're getting pretty pricey though, and there are some local spots with similar delicious pizzas.

First it was completely burnt, we took it back and it was replaced with another burnt pizza. The following morning, we went in for a replacement and the replacement pizza had been deliberately tampered with. There were paper towels all in the pizza. Although not burnt, it tasted weird and we took it apart to find paper towels baked into the sauce under the cheese. Also, the manager there was a complete jerk. read more

Today, Imo's broke my heart. My father-in-law was singing their praises over dinner -- so much so that he actually went to order a pizza AFTER we just had pizza from a competitor. He was nostalgic about the 50 years of patronage he had given them. It was all lost in a single phone call to Brianna. To be clear; this isn't hearsay. I heard the whole exchange on speakerphone. Brianna was short, curt, unhelpful, condescending, and mean. Instead of looking for the easy path, i.e. taking a pizza order, she opted to be argumentative about the number he was calling from, unfriendly when he asked about the specials, impatient as he tried to get her the information she had asked for, and otherwise doing everything in her power to not take his order. She succeeded. Rather than risk the call with Brianna resulting in molested food, he opted to leave the order incomplete and drive to the restaurant. When he told the manager his story, the manager basically shrugged and said, "oh well." Think about this... 50 years = 2607 weeks = 18250 days He ordered a pizza every other week. You do the math. They might say they are the "square beyond compare;" however, they have left a 50-year relationship as the "square beyond repair." read more

A friend told me about Imo's in St. Louis. I am always anxious to sample local flavor when I travel, so I decided to try Imo's. I ordered a small pizza with pepperoni and jalapeños. The pizza was absolutely delicious. It had an extremely thin, very crispy crust. I was pleasantly surprised that the jalapeños were full-flavored, not the mild nacho-style ones many places use. The person who waited for me was very gruff. I'm not deducting a star, but it's not how I enjoy being treated. I am deducting a star because Imo's doesn't offer freshly brewed iced tea: only horrible post-mix swill. read more

Ok I was only going to give it 4 stars (if you ask my wife its 5 but she is obsessed with pizza) but even thought this is located in a sketchy part of town it is really clean and the staff is amazing. we ordered the Egg-Ceptional which is the one that they are known for and a plane cheese cause the best way to tell if a pizza place is good is by how good the cheese is(they use Provel cheese which has a unique taste to it). It's a thin crust pizza that isn't chewy like domino or burnt like some do it was just about right. The thing that gave them the extra star was we were almost done eating when the guy comes out with a new cheese pizza sets it on our table and goes "I didn't like the way that last cheese looked" so we got a free pizza out of it. and then we left and forgot our camera bag and went down town and they held on to it and were super nice all around. would recommend this one to anyone who wants a good thin crust pizza. read more

I love everything about this location. The food has consistently been delicious. I like to come for the lunch specials. I think it's a great price for the amount of food you receive. I order the pizza with salad. You can up size the pizza for to a 10in. For just a little more. They also let you up size the drink too. I always take advantage of that. It's a small dining area. So I think bits best to do the drive thru. But it's not like they're busy , & always out of tables. So if you're looking for a good Imo's, this is the one read more

I ordered a pizza from this establishment last night and I was screamed at by the delivery driver. He pounded on my door and screamed because he called once and I didn't hear the phone. I understand why they call, but I was explained that he will, and the company, will never deliver to me or anyone in my apartment building again. I then called the manager at the store and he basically just wrote my complaint off, not caring at all. Between the driving pounding angrily, screaming through my door, being threatened, and the manager not caring, I'm done completely with Imo's!! At 11:00 am I called the store and was informed delivery service does not start until 11 am and their store does not open until 10:30 am. I informed the person at the Spring location that their specific store shows a 10 am open time. She said the web site is for all Imo's and does not reflect the actual opening time. I told her it was for their specific store and she said "delivery will be some time after 11" and hung up. I've eaten at multiple Imo's in the metro area - Florissant, Des Peres, Edwardsville, Ballwin, Creve Coeur, Shiloh, Chesterfield, Gravois, all the downtown locations, etc - and none ever seemed to compare to the original Hampton location at Forest Park and 40. It sucks that there's no consistency in the locations - some cook theirs too long, some don't add enough cheese, some skimp on toppings, etc. It gives non-Imo's believers the upper hand because most Imo's locations are just not good. So when I moved further south of the city, this became the closest location to me - so I tried it apprehensively. Man was I blown away. This location is just as good, if not better than the Hampton location. And this review comes after a year of ordering from them. They've been very consistent since my first order and all my pizzas have come out in the traditional St. Louis deliciousness that I know Imo's is capable of. And they have a drive thru as well. I'd definitely either try this location or the original Hampton location to get the true Imo's experience. read more

We ordered 3 pizzas, 2 pkgs of cheese and 2 dressings/sauces (pkg deal). During the ordering process, I included a message to see if they would cut the pizzas into 4 sections for freezing purposes and to see if, instead of receiving the dressings, we could substitute a pizza. NO RESPONSE! Sent an email TO CORPORATE once we received the pizzas etc. to let them know that the pizzas were still whole. SENT ANOTHER MESSAGE TO CORPORATE (3 in total) IN STL ABOUT THIS AND STILL no one FROM CORPORATE bothered responding to our messages. Yeah, paying 40$ for the overnight delivery, plus cost of products, was NOT worth having the company ignore all requests! Won't buy from them again! read more

If I didn't have to give a star, I wouldn't. The food was poorly cooked and of course my order was not right. The sandwich was good but how hard is to to mess up a sandwich. I paid extra to have my sandwich made with garlic bread but it was on the regular bread. I requested only flats for my wings and they gave me only drummies. No one is that stupid and I'm pretty sure they were just being assholes. My pizza was over sauced and baked poorly. Wow. I've had Imo's before including this one but I haven't had them in a long time. Well it's midnight and I'm craving a sandwich Jimmy Johns won't deliver and I don't feel like leaving the house. I order 2 sandwiches from them one for me and one for my girlfriend. And they were just phenomenal! Perfect sandwiches. Could not ask for any better. But be warned! I grew up on imo's Pizza. I sincerely believe Imo's is the greatest pizza I have ever had. It hurts me to say that I will no longer be ordering from my local Imo's on Spring. Today, I called to place an order for delivery. Breanna answered the phone and I immediately began to overlook the attitude in her voice because I wanted to place my order. After several minutes on the phone listening to her condescending responses, I didn't feel comfortable eating food that was made in her presence without my watchful eye. While pricey compared to other pizza options in the area this is a tradition and one of those foods you crave and can't get out of your mind.
