Love the vibe of this place! The pizza flavors are very unique. We were welcomed into the store, and the man behind the counter was friendly. I ordered the Mustang Marg pizza. I ordered my pizza Detroit-style. It was pretty good! However, there wasn't much of a crunch. The toppings on the pizza included fresh basil, but the basil got cooked in the oven. The basil contributed to an overcooked taste on the slices. I would have preferred the basil to be added after the pizza had been cooked. The pizza wasn't bad at all! I would definitely come back to try something different.

Ordered some pizza to go to bring it home for my first time trying Motor Town Pizza. We got the Yo Street in a Range and it was fun and different. It was sprinkled with Red Hot Riplets on top which added a nice texture and a bit of a kick to the flavor. The pizza was ready on time and it was a quick and easy process to order and pick it up. Small shop, but I'm guessing it's mostly pick ups anyways so no problem at all. I will definitely be coming back!

The wings. Amazing. Large, saucy and super meaty. We got the buffalo and they were perfect! The $5 side car salad. Wonderful. Fresh spring greens, not romaine. Lots of carrots and red onion. Nicely seasoned dressing. The Detroit style pizza. Kinda standard. Nice crispy edges with a good amount of toppings. I'm used to a Detroit style with the tomato sauce/marinara on the top - this did not have that and seemed a bit dry. Not much sauce in general. And. Still good flavors and well cooked. We'll be back just for the wings!! They were stand out!

Had lunch with a friend today and will likely be back. We decided to get an 8x10 Detroit style mustang margarita pizza and a nuts and bolts salad to share. Had to come back and mention that they brought us a small order of garlic knots and the flavor was awesome! Made it clear we would enjoy lunch. The salad came first and we were a bit stunned how big and tightly packed it was. They brought us a second bowl to share and seriously, we had two full bowls quickly. Everything had the fresh texture that each component should have. The feta nice and soft, walnuts crisp, raisins adding that tang along with the raspberry vinaigrette. We both feel certain we will be back for that salad! Already talked about the ability to get chicken on it LOL. So we were really happy long before the pizza came out! First bite made me comment on the flavor. It was so good. The sauce tasted really fresh like tomatoes were picked, cooked and then crushed just for us. The fresh mozzarella and basil combined for perfection. The mozzarella was put on in big slices. Seriously good. The service was friendly and the place is clean, nice, etc. has photos of cars on the walls. They have a lot of other things on the menu and they had New York style slices in a case for quick and easy. It wasn't cheap or expensive either one. Lunch was about $20 a piece -- lots to eat, drinks and everything was so fresh. Definitely will be back.

    Hot Honey Hawaiian Detroit-Style Pizza

This restaurant is located in Richmond Heights at Hanley and Dale. There is plenty of surface lot parking. For those who don't know, Detroit styled pizza is known for its crispy corners and epic cheese pulls. We were greeted warmly upon arrival but wasn't sure what we wanted right away. The gentleman working behind the counter was very friendly and patient as we perused the menu for our selections and perused the very epic drink displays. They have non-alcoholic beverages as well as canned or bottled alcoholic beverages including full size bottles of wine. We settled on their new Hot Honey Hawaiian pizza (Spicy vodka sauce base, shredded mozzarella, fresh sliced mozzarella, bacon, sliced capicola, fresh pineapple, jalapeno, finished with a drizzle of hot honey, and topped with Red Hot Riplets) in Detroit style for our main. They also offer pizza in New York style, traditional hand-tossed and gluten free. Because we were dining in, we were offered complimentary garlic knots which were hot, buttery and came with a side of spicy vodka sauce - which by the way is delicious! Next, our salad came out. We ordered the Nuts and Bolts salad (Mixed greens, walnuts, cranberries, goat cheese, shaved onions, carrots, & raspberry vinaigrette). Normally, goat cheese gives me the ick but this goat cheese did not. I loved how bulky the salad was and filling it was shared between three adults. Our pizza came out (4 squares) easily shareable between us three. The cheese pull was there and the Red Hot Riplets on top, a nod to St. Louis. The squares were hearty as well. Each bite was savory, spicy with a little sweet. I love pineapples so I did wish there were more on there but nevertheless this pizza was a solid choice enjoyed by each of us. Lastly, we were offered complimentary cookie bars which were warm too. I will definitely be back!

Wanted to grab a quick bite and always pass by motor town. Walked in and seemed really clean, wasn't super busy. We had some questions about the menu but didn't get much clarity on the different pizza styles or toppings from the staff, but let that get in the way of the pizza. The pizza crust is thick, crunchy and flavorful and the toppings were equally as good. I like their selection of bottled and canned beverages. Being from the east coast, I'm pretty biased in pizza and this wasn't too bad. Not sure I'd visit again but if I were in a group of folks who wanted to go I wouldn't oppose it either.

The ambiance was cozy....a place to go to chill over a nice slice. The customer service was decent, not too engaging , yet it was decent. The pizza was good, it lacked some flavor in the sauce, however the crust was very buttery(good). The cheese bread was good!! Complimentary garlic knots and cookies bites were a good touch for a new experience....

We finally made it to check out Motor Town Pizza! The restaurant is clean and has a modern, car-themed decor. They have several specialty pizza options, and it was hard to make a choice. :) Drinks are bottled or canned; no fountain drinks. We ordered two small pizzas since we wanted to try a couple of flavors: Eleanor and Yo Street in a Range. Both were great, and we took half of the food home for leftovers.

My husband and I ordered Motor Town Pizza for pickup. It was ready on time and it stayed hot throughout the drive home. My husband tried the yo street in a range and I had the monster truck meatball pizza. I wish the edges of my pizza were as crispy as my husbands, but I did see they have an option on their Toast check out for "well done" which I will have to try next time :) both of the flavors were really delicious and the pizzas are very filling!

Not bad! What a pleasant surprise! I stumbled on this place by accident and we really enjoyed the NY Style pizza and a small Detroit cheese. Both were solid and I thought the prices were good too. I will go back.

This would be a 5 star rating if not for this one thing. A few weeks back we ordered this for all the guys in the maintenance shop, we had 5-6 different pies, all Detroit style. The crust was excellent, everything about it the pizza was excellent. Crust was crispy almost all the way thru. I should mention this crust is roughly 3/4 to 1" thick. It was so good I brought my wife that Saturday for lunch. One complaint....the crust was doughy, it was good but it was doughy. I thought ok....that's fine, we still ate it....just a bit doughy! A couple evenings ago went again with a buddy as I had been raving about it to him. He ordered NY style I again had the Detroit style....same exact pizza I'd been having. Service was fast and pizzas were on table in less than 20. My buddies was good, he enjoyed it, he then tried a piece of mine...first thing out of his mouth...it's a little doughy....i thought dang, not again. It was doughy, just a bit doughy but still a great pie. So, will I go back again, I will, but I will ask for a well done crust. Hope it doesn't offend them because it's a fabulous pie...just a bit doughy.

The Best Dining Experience We've Had in St. Louis - Hands Down…read moreMy husband and I wanted to give our dear friends who are leaving St. Louis one last unforgettable meal from their bucket list, so I immediately recommended Peno. I used to be a regular at Rosé with the same talented Chef Pepe, and his food is truly to die for. We walked in on a beautiful day and were lucky to snag a spot in their small parking lot (parking in the area isn't the easiest, but it's worth it). Our server, Harry, made the evening even better right from the start. He had such a warm, calm, professional presence--the kind that's rare these days. We instantly remembered his name thanks to a fun Harry Potter / Harry and the Hendersons reference, and he handled everything with effortless skill. When our friends had parking trouble, Harry quickly offered helpful suggestions. Then, when it was time to order, he elevated our meal in the best way possible. My husband and I got our longtime favorite--the Roberto pizza from Rosé days--and Harry suggested adding sausage and peppers. That small tweak took something we already loved and made it 1000% better. Absolute perfection. Our friend ordered the spaghetti (her all-time favorite comfort meal), and after taking Harry's thoughtful recommendation, she declared it the best spaghetti she's ever had in her life. We finished with the cheesecake. I'm extremely picky about cheesecake, but this one did not disappoint--it was creamy, rich, and flawless. This was one of those legendary meals you remember forever. The kind where you leave thinking you could die happy. Chef Pepe's food, paired with Harry's outstanding service, made it a perfect night. If you're in St. Louis, do yourself a favor and go to Peno. You won't regret it. Thank you, Harry and team--you helped create a truly special send-off for our friends!
