Double rolls of tape, thick furniture blankets, wardrobe closets with hangers for coats -- all very thoughtfully chosen and much cheaper than market price. Just how good were they with fragile items? They moved an all velvet chair and a 7 foot tall full glass mirror down and up two multistory apartments without a single scratch or bump. Require a 3 hour minimum, but they were so efficient we finished with 40 minutes left. They asked us if we needed help with anything else, though we assured them we didn't. Just a great experience. There was an issue from beginning to end, starTing with the fact that I believe the number of people in the crew was not calculated correctly. It took 3 guys 13 hours to move us from a 2bedroom/2 bath apartment of 1000 feet. It is my first time in 5 moves it has taken this long and if you add that the charge is by the hour is very convenient as a business I guess. The crew was very slow, in many occasions didn't know even how to pack things to the point that my husband and I had to help to pack and put things in their truck to make sure the move was flowing. The crew took several breaks to smoke, they scratched the wood floor, refused in two occasions to put on shoe covers to enter the rooms with carpet, left things unattended outside the truck. Definitely not the experience I was expecting and I will not recommend by any means. When the crew hit the 5 hour mark we called the moving company to share our concerns. The manager showed up but the issues were not addressed. If you want to be charged around 2,500$ to move a 2 b/2b and receive a service that will make you feel frustrated, give them a call! read more

Dennis and team were fantastic! From the initial quote to the day of the move Dennis was very responsive and friendly. On the day of the move they arrived right on time and were professional and extremely efficient. The overall move took a little longer than I anticipated because we had done such a poor job of packing. But luckily Dennis had extra packing paper, tape, and boxes that helped us wrap up those last remaining loose items. They were careful with our furniture even though most of it was cheap ikea nonsense. I was also very impressed with their packing tape magic. Within minutes they made handles out of tape to move the mattress! Wizardry. I would definitely use them again. You should too! read more

Excellent experience. Art and Sergey arrived on time, worked quickly, and took care to wrap our furniture. When they had questions, they weren't afraid to ask. This was our first time using movers, and we're so glad we did. They're pros. We moved from two ground-floor 500sqft apts into a two-level 1000sqft apartment on the other side of the Bay Bridge. I'd say we have an average amount of stuff--nothing terribly large or heavy. We did most of the packing beforehand. The whole thing still took around 7 hours and cost $1,000, which was definitely longer and (thus more expensive) than the quote, which was around $700-$800 dollars. I'd chalk most of that up to our having more stuff than we thought, and to the time they took wrapping our furniture. But chances are, you have more stuff than you think, too. Keep that in mind when comparing quotes. read more

Serg and Alex helped me move from one apartment to the next. They were careful while packing my items and patientiance. This move did take a longer time than expected for moving one bedroom but it wasn't due to their speed, it was due to external issues with elevators and convuluted walkways. They always tried to speed up when they could while still being careful with my furniture. I had already packed and moved all my stuff myself, so they only had to move furniture, TV and a couple more displays. Overall the move took 4 hours and 45 minutes total with 3 movers. We are so happy to have contracted Impel Moving for our move. Everything about this company was beyond satisfactory from the beginning. They sent a nicely detailed and very reasonable quote minutes after I requested it online, they sent plenty of reminders that our move was upcoming, and the movers they sent (Paul and Sam) were exceptionally professional, productive, courteous, and meticulous. They worked from 9:15AM until 8:00PM non-stop with the exception of a 30 minute lunch break. We were impressed at how efficiently they packed the truck, how cautious they were about not hitting any walls, doors, furniture, etc., and how accommodating they were about moving anything if we changed our minds about where it should be placed. These guys were absolutely amazing. We originally had a bid from another mover who had good reviews but wanted 1.5x more. When we got a bid from Impel that was way cheaper, then saw their nearly unanimous 5-star rating, we went with them. And we're so glad we did. You know how some people complain that their stuff ends up broken after moving? Paul and Andrew actually *fixed* our couch, which has had a broken leg since nearly the day we got it! They did it without us even asking, and busted out a power drill and attached the leg correctly. That is way, way beyond the call of duty and we're so thankful! We thought we'd have our whole apartment packed before moving day, but only got through 2/3rds of it before passing out at 3am the night before moving. Luckily Paul and Andrew packed up all sorts of odds and ends (small and big) that we couldn't get to, and did a careful, thorough, and efficient job. They spent a ton of time and care in it, while still somehow being fast for the amount of stuff we had. And our move wasn't easy: a third story, cramped apartment to a 3-ish story house with narrow, steep stairs. We can't say enough good things about Impel, Paul, and Andrew.
