If you can get me to eat green beans at all, it's an accomplishment. If you can get me to eat green beans & actually like them, you're way ahead of the game. If you can get me to eat green beans & actually love them, then I need to shake your hand. Spicy Green Beans. This version was so good, I was eating them right out of the box, before I even made myself a plate. Ok...I always do that w Chinese food. But, if I'd had green beans this good a long time ago, then I wouldn't have hated them all these years. Sigh. And I know all about that famous green bean casserole that everyone makes for thanksgiving. I never understood what the big deal was. The Honey Walnut Prawns. Holy cow good. The best I've ever had. The prawns were clean, fresh, & tender. Sauce was on point, a bit decadent, & fabulous. And the walnuts...omg. Fantastic. I don't even care that there were a couple of burnt ones. 2 slightly burnt walnuts out of 25 or so is totally forgivable. An outstanding dish. The egg fried rice. I didn't partake, since I was avoiding carbs. But my mom loved it. She's a fried rice aficionado, & pretty picky, so that says a lot. I like I liked the ambience and the vibes of the restaurant. It was clean the service was fast and the waiter was polite and so was the server. The water that we received from this establishment was pretty good I would say as it had a lemon in it and that's always delicious in my opinion. We ordered sizzling rice soup and we received it fairly quick. The sizzling rice soup was my favorite part of the meal. We also ordered pork fried rice and pork chow mein along with orange chicken. The orange chicken was not as good as I was expecting from my previous visit to this restaurant, the pork chow mein and the pork fried rice were very average but still I enjoyed it. I forgot to mention we got potstickers, which were also very delicious to me. I destroyed six of them with some Sriracha and the sauce that was provided on the plate with it but yeah, it was pretty good. I haven't lived in Modesto since 2003 but when i lived there Imperial Garden was THE best place to go for Chinese food. Their crab rangoons were to DIE for. We have been in search of a good Chinese food restaurant and decided to try Imperial Garden. We called in the order for pick-up. The gentleman who took my order was very polite, which is why I am giving it 2 stars. My order was: pork fried rice, pork chow mein, sweet and sour pork, foil chicken, beef with broccoli, and steamed white rice. When we got it home, we were extremely disappointed to find that EVERYTHING that was supposed to be pork was CHICKEN!!! It was extremely bland and needed soy sauce. The chicken didn't have very much flavor at all. The broccoli beef was mainly broccoli with very little beef. Today was my birthday, I am came with my family of three and I was very excited. I could see and smell the food here was more like what I know Chinese food is really like. They had Gai Lan( Chinese Broccoli ). We ordered BBQ fried rice, pork Chow mein, Egg foo Yong, Orange chicken, pepper chicken wings and yes the Gai Lan. We got our drinks and the Chow mien was brought out first and sat there for also most 25 mins before the chicken wings came out. each items came out with long time frames between each order. I asked for chop sticks who I found out was the manager and he never brought them. The food was prepared and sat because it was mostly cold. I felt they did not want us there. They prepared larger groups and people who sat after us food before we received all of our order. I remembered this is the restaurant my family would go to all the time! They have 3 family sized meals to choose from. And you can mix and match. It comes with soup 3 to choose from we ordered the wonton soup, than appetizers, we ordered the stemmed pork dumplings, than choose your main dishes We ordered Sweet n sour pork, honey walnut, prawns , Mongolian beef. The soup comes in a huge bowl. The waitress serves you. Full of fresh veggies, squash, mushrooms, ginger, onions,carrots, wonton, in a broth that is rich, full of flavor. Bowl of deliciousness. Next was the steamed pork dumplings there huge, comes with a dipping sauce. Moist, full of meat, the best I have had in years. Next came the main dishes, side dishes chicken fried rice I don't eat fried rice much. But I didn't really care for. tasted like it was day old and had big chunks of scrambled eggs. My husband loves fried rice. And said it was really good. Chicken chow menu was good, cabbage could have been chopped a little better, I prefer thin noodles, these were the thicker lo mein noodles. In spite of this it was still very good Our entrees came it was just 3 of us. And at this point were almost full. The Mongolian beef is a little spicy. With lots of sliced sautéed onions, the beef was tender and cooked perfectly it melts in your mouth. Sweet n sour pork huge chunks of pork, fried Than put in sauce. Honey walnut prawns lots of walnuts, big pieces of prawns sprinkled with sesame seeds on top. All 3 dishes were delicious! For 3 people this is a ton of food and could easily feed 4-5 people. The portions are huge, the plating and presentation of each dish. is picture perfect. The staff is very helpful, attentive, and nice. Everything was scrumptious ! The prices for everything you get were affordable.If you're looking for an authentic Chinese , nice sit down restaurant. Their wonton soup base was alright, but their wontons were SUPER good!!!! MMmm...makes me want to take another bite into those good little morsels. It was pretty different because they put zucchini or cucumber slices in it and put scrambled egg as well. The broccoli beef was just about that and had plenty of sauce. I thought I'd never say "I crave for Chinese food." But after trying Imperial Garden, I look forward to the next chance of eating out in Modtown. Their prices are very reasonable and their servings are quite generous. For starters, they immediately serve bottomless house tea on a pot. Then, if you order soup, the portions are more than enough. One time, we ordered a medium bowl of Wonton Soup (which was delicious, by the way) and realized that it could well be a meal in itself! So the next time, I ordered a cup of Hot and Sour Soup for myself, but still found the size a good one to share with. That was the most spicy Hot and Sour soup I've ever tasted, if I may say. Check for the daily specials or stick to the menu (which is also available online for take-out or delivery orders). They have lunch specials, family dinner combos, and even a few items if you're on a Weight Watcher's diet. Service is fast and friendly. The restaurant looks clean, too. So far, we've tried their Mongolian Lamb, Dried Fried Salt & Pepper Pork Chop, Eggplant with Garlic Sauce and Hong Kong style pan-fried Noodles.
