Kung Pao Chicken - Very Bland
    Irene S.

I used to like the food at this restaurant. But over the years it seems that this is becoming a tourist trap and food is going downhill it's becoming bland. Which is unfortunate because they used to have decent flavor that you can enjoy. And they're even charging for hot water. Service is reasonable not too slow. Ambiance it hasn't changed and it's ok nothing too special about it.

Pretty good chinese food for this area! Friendly service. Came here for dinner one night and it was a nice experience. We ordered the sweet sour soup, beef broccoli, and a chow mein to share. The food came out very quickly which was a huge plus since we were starving! PortIon size is very good and the food was delicious. Service was nice and friendly. The restaurant was clean and spacious. Parking was super easy, bathrooms are clean.

We had such a great experience. The staff was nice, the food was delicious, and so were the drinks. We went on a Sunday night and it wasn't too busy. The food tasted really fresh and flavorful. Will be back for sure next time we are in Bishop.

Leftover fried rice has a bug in it.

Mediocre food- salty and pricy for the small portion size. Dumpling is good but all dishes are very salty.

Some of us had the munch special and some of us had the main dishes. All portions were large, fresh, delicious, and presented well. We ordered two vegetarian dishes and literally could not stop eating them. We will definitely be stopping in here every time we travel through Bishop. One last note on the service. Our waiters were great. Kept checking on us to make sure we were happy. Kept our drinks full and met our all of our needs. Highly recommended this spot!!

I made a comment about how I wanted vegetable ones. Server said nothing. I later asked a few more questions about the dishes but everything I asked for was a no. Example: I asked if the Kung Pao had watercress. "No". That's ok I thought. I asked if the cashew chicken had green onion in it. "No". Everything was a no. I made a comment about being picky I guess. My husband ordered the sesame beef and we both ordered the shrimp fried rice. I didn't order anything else because I got a bad vibe but my husband was embarrassed and I got upset and I left. I came on this site and noticed that the egg rolls are vegetable egg rolls so I called to confirm. Menus change? Who knows? I was told on the phone that they have beef rolls- quantity of 2 or vegetable egg rolls- quantity of 4. What the ????? Horrible service. I will never set a foot in this place. How hard is to say, we can add green onion for a small charge? How hard is it to repeat yourself if your customer is having trouble understanding you? My parents are not native English speakers and speak with a broken accent. IDGAF. But to be rude and condescending with your customers is just wrong. You know who you are, "Asian man with a ponytail and a small limp or funny walk. Get another job or stay in the kitchen, you are hurting your business. I will go to the merry go round next time.

The staff was kind, and the building was cool, but that's where the charm ended. We walked into an obese pit bull literally sitting on a chair at the table, right next to where we got seated. There had been a sign out front saying there was a "service dog" inside with a picture of the obese pit bull in question, so I guess that's helpful but calling it a service dog really stretches credulity. I'm not sure what service the dog is providing for the owner who was not present until the end of our meal, at which point he paraded the dog around the tiny restaurant to greet customers. Another customer came in with a dog, too - apparently this tiny restaurant is teetering into becoming a dog park. I love dogs. I work with animals for a living. I am a dog owner and bring my dog everywhere I can, within reason and with the explicit permission of the businesses we visit. I do NOT appreciate a poorly-behaved pit bull, kept docile by virtue of his excessive weight, slobbering on a dining table. I do not appreciate dog dander in my food. But mostly, being in a family that used actual guide dogs - as in, dogs that were specifically bred and trained for YEARS by experienced professionals to assist their visually impaired handlers all day, completely ignore food and people that try to interact with them, and to tuck themselves quietly at their handler's feet at a restaurant, I'm put off by "service dogs" just moseying around a restaurant or sitting at a table with diners. It really does seem like this dog's main purpose is to hang out and be a restaurant mascot, which sure sounds like a health code violation. Dog dander aside, the food was basically on par with what you might order at any American-style Chinese restaurant. The orange chicken had a strong orange peel flavor, so it stood out. The rice was dry. I didn't notice anything unique about the soy sauce. The other items we ordered were unremarkable.

There's an unspoken law about Asian restaurants: the closer the dining room gets to majority Asian,…read morethe more you can trust the food is authentic. Well, for a Chinese restaurant tucked deep in a white neighborhood, Dynasty Chinese Cuisine breaks this law. Food: 5/5 From our first bite, we could tell everything was made in-house. The crispy potsticker wrapper did not taste like it came frozen from a Bibigo bag, and the egg roll filling tasted fresh. The Black Pepper Beef Skillet came out still sizzling and smoking, and the meat was tender and moist. We also ordered the BBQ Pork Chow Fun, and the noodles had a balanced smoky flavor. The meat was also tender. From our photos, you could see a hefty portion of meat in each dish. This is one of the best Chinese food I've ever had, and for the price point, this place deserves the elusive 5 out of 5. Service: 4.5/5 There appears to be one server manning the floor the majority of the time, but the owner came out to check in on patrons. Both were super friendly and attentive, chatting with us about recommendations and welcoming us to the area. The service was fast. Atmosphere: 4.5/5 This restaurant is a proper casual Chinese restaurant, and the atmosphere reflects that. We did not expect it to be as lively as it was when we came in for lunch at 1:30pm on a weekday. The noise levels and music were not offensive. And the place is incredible clean! The dining floor and bathroom looked well-maintained and clear of any debris. I would recommend this restaurant for a dinner date for one, a family meal, or takeout. Final rating: 4.5/5 (rounding up to 5 on Yelp)

We've ordered other menu items, such as sesame chicken and egg foo young and we've liked those as well. While there's nothing wrong with dining in, I've personally preferred picking up food for take-out. Part of the reason for this is that the restaurant can get a bit cramped during peak times and there can be a lot happening with ordering, bussing tables, and whatnot. However, dining in during non-peak times has been delightful. I recommend eating at/ordering food from Sun China! Being in town, she requested we get dinner here. The restaurant has been around for years. I remember coming here as a kid but now as an adult, we rarely dine here. Not much has changed. It gives a neighborhood restaurant vibe--cozy, and smallish, fish tank, and artwork. Service was alright, not really friendly but just that they were trying to get their job done. I called in our order and everything came out fine and semi-fast. Grandma and I shared the House Special Chop Suey and Sweet and Sour Pork. The portions are quite big and the entrees come out to over $15 per dish. A bit steep for the quality. The Chop Suey was our favorite--a bit of everything and nicely sauced. We'd order this again and again! Sweet and sour pork was underwhelming. No seasoning, vegetables are practically hard and still raw, and barely any pork under all the fried stuff. Wouldn't order that again. If you live in Reedley, there are only two Chinese restaurants and Sun China Chinese Restaurant is one of them. Depending on the dish it can either be a hit or miss. I wouldn't come back for myself but would if my Grandma or family were craving it.
