I was able to book online, but had to call to confirm. I got a bit confused about how their services were organized (I failed to read that I was supposed to provide a truck). Ernesto was gracious and rolled with it and In and Out Movers took care of the truck rental. Luis and Eric were the team and were totally professional, funny and took really great care of a piece of delicate furniture as well as moved a really heavy hydraulic table up a few flights of stairs. The owner of this company is unprofessional, combative and dishonest. His workers are unreliable in that they showed up hours late (both days) but they were kind enough. The workers did not disclose the damage they caused (although had to know the second they caused it) and the owner said he would fix it but quickly changed his tune. Don't hire them. read more

They were hired to load a U-Haul with all my belongings going cross-country. I scheduled way in advance and confirmed that they would protect large pieces with shrink-wrap. The day of the move, no one showed or even called to say they were running late. They almost ignored my phone calls, but finally someone (an owner?) said the crew was running overtime with their last job. Then he said they wouldn't be able to come that day - but I told them I had to be out of the house because the new owners were moving in the next day--and the friend driving my truck didn't have an extra day to wait. He finally agreed to grab a friend and come do the move himself. They did it in a huge hurry and had no shrink wrap, but gave me some moving blankets - and I appreciate all of that effort to make up for the delay (and they gave a discount too). But the long delay on a hot afternoon with hardly anywhere to sit since the house was packed up was stressful. A little communication from the original crew (hey, we apologize but we're running really late) would've been good, and perhaps better scheduling to avoid overlapping delays. Judging from all the better ratings they've received, this could've just been an unfortunate one-off situation, but Yelp is here to report experiences, and this was mine. Hopefully it won't happen to others. read more

Contacted the supervisor, Jamie, and explained that I had a large, very heavy concrete fountain bowl, and a "topper" figure, with one arm held up in air, concrete mermaid! He sent two men, Ivan and Maro, who came prepared and on time, with wide "lift belts" which I had suggested would certainly help with such heavy pieces! They carefully moved the large concrete bowl, while it sat on a palette, from the trailer, to the ground, carefully, and slowly! We also added a little assistance in balancing while placing on the ground. It was then placed on a 'pre-set base' as the first part of the fountain that would also hold water. The mermaid was then carried, safely and carefully, using the same straps, and placed inside the bowl! No issues. The additional help and arrangement was basically perfect, whereby water was then added to the bowl, plus a small motor, and connecting tubing for the arm fountain portion, making the move complete! The fountain worked as it should, and the two young men made sure we had all the 'bases' covered, and even sat for a couple photos, before leaving! We paid for their time, which was very nominal and tipped each, for being professional, on time, and willing to follow our concern for the care in doing a very special project. I'm a mover out of Boise, I had a job to Portland and looked these guys up, I use a lot of out of town movers and these guys were wonderful! After 9 years of living in a fabulous spot on Hayden Island, I was given notice that I needed to move due to the unit being sold. Although I was lucky to receive the multnomah county tenant relocation fee, my budget was still very tight. I found In and Out Movers on Craigslist, in addition to about 5-6 other moving services and called each of them for a quote. The hourly rate offered by In and Out Movers was VERY reasonable yet, at first, I was hesitant to book with them. There are two Yelp accounts attached to this business name, one which has many negative reviews. The owner did inform me of this over the phone and explained there has been a change in ownership. Long story short, FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE! Julio and Cozart where professional, timely( arrived 4 minutes early, finished 3 minutes early) friendly, personable, hard-working and experienced! I had informed the owner of a few pieces of furniture that were EXTREMELY heavy, cumbersome to move and would also require the skill of navigating awkward angles and a steep staircase! They were able to successfully and with extreme care move these items and meticulously load a 15 foot truck with almost everything I own! They had a wonderfully warm and professional attitude through the 4 hours they spent loading and unloading my house and were a complete delight! Affordable and professional!
