This was EASILY the most memorable and best experience I've had at an In-N-Out. We stopped here to take a break during a roadtrip and it became the highlight of the drive. I already love the burgers but these tased extra amazing: perfect + fresh. They were so delicious that immediately ordered seconds! the service was so fast and the staff were very friendly. On the way back from Pinnacles NP, we stopped for a true California treat. In-N-Out burger...we have had them before, but on our trip to California...you know what they say, when in Rome. We got there at 8:30 on a Monday, and it was packed. I told my mother in law, it's a burger joint and she enjoyed her very first In-N-Out cheeseburger. My kids were starving, and they handily finished off their doubles. I enjoyed mine, and two fries were almost enough to fill us up after a long afternoon hike. The place is well lit. The service is fast and friendly. The food is delicious. Team members like Brooklyn were out turning tables over for folks to have a clean place to eat. This place is always recommended. read more

My order was taken immediately with professionalism and kindness. - I drove up to the window and was told that it was going to take a few minutes for my order. Again, the staff was polite and patient. - I didn't even realize that I had arrived early, before opening until I was driving away with my order. The staff was so wonderful in meeting my needs and at no point did they mention that I had showed up for opening. This place needs to figure out their fries. Last few visits they have been soggy, undercooked, and horrible. I brought the original ones back I got with my order and was given one's right out of the fryer. Same thing. The ambiance is like an old school burger joint. I've had friends who have worked at an In n out and they all talk about the fresh ingredients that come every morning and the quality. I have to say, they're definitely the best fast food burger joint. There patties have a great char and natural burger taste. The veggies are always fresh and delicious. Get the burger animal style and they cook the patties in mustard and add grilled onions. The animal style fries are bomb! Grilled onions, melted cheese and spread on top! It is an In-N-Out so you know what you are going to get. The model doesn't change much from location to location. The food is fresh and hot. The burgers are always good and taste great. The fries are real potatoes so they are plain compared to some of the other fast food restaurants. You have to eat them hot because cold fries here are just terrible. The service is an insane formula of volume volume volume. They crank out the limited menu really fast. They servers yell out your order number and verify with you that it is correct. All of the restaurants pretty much are the same inside. Clean, straightforward and efficient. Tables turn quickly and the staff cleans up quickly. I've never been disappointed with my In 'n Out burger, my usual complaint is that my milk shake is TOO frozen. It takes forever to thaw so I don't get enjoy it with my meal. The service at Atascadero In and Out is the best I have seen. I always go through the drive thru and service always top notch. Tonight was no exception. When my husband and I place our order I asked if they could cut my Animal Cheese Burger in half since I am one handed temporary due to an accident. What surprised me not only did they cut it in half they wrapped each half up which made it easier for me to eat with one hand. I've always loved in and out from my first time trying them in Orange County. However, the Atascadero one used to be great. I'm not complaining about the customer service because they are friendly and efficient. However in the past 6 months , my order is cold. When I order the fries to the cheeseburger it doesn't taste good. It's almost like I'm getting old food that has been sitting around. My favorite burger place! What is not to like about them. Pretty basic but yummy. You do not need gourmet, it is a BURGER.

I've had repeated issues with my orders at In-N-Out. Despite always requesting no onions--and even clarifying multiple times--my burgers consistently come with onions. It's frustrating having to take apart my food every visit just to fix something I clearly asked for. I hope the staff can pay closer attention to special requests moving forward. read more

I went to this In and Out a couple of weeks ago and had the worse experience. First the guy taking our order was not paying attention to what we ordered because a friend of his was yelling at him in the parking lot and making him laugh. He still got it wrong and we gave up and had it fixed when we paid.. or so we thought. My double double with no onions and spread came with extra onions and spread. The one that was regular was missing a patty. The burger with no cheese had cheese and nothing else. We asked for chopped chiles on the side we got sliced onions on the side. If you are driving up or down the 101 freeway in the northern portion of San Luis Obispo county, and feel the need for some nourishment, take the San Anselmo exit in Atascadero. The In-N-Out is one block west of the freeway. This In-N-Out location has only one drive-thru line, but even though the line is usually long (which is very common for I-N-O), it moves very quickly due to the efficiency of the employees. As a convenience to customers, there are also multiple outdoor concrete picnic tables with sunbrellas for patrons to enjoy one's meal without eating inside or in one's auto. The teamwork demonstrated by the workers here is excellent. Everyone is friendly & efficient, and works as a team to get orders quickly to their customers. Good job guys! read more

You can't go wrong by getting a hamburger meal at In-N-Out! One of my favorites. When I don't want a meat meal I can order a grilled cheese sandwich which is not on the menu. I like that. Don't get me wrong! I enjoy In-N-Out burger as much as anyone! But to wait in drive thru line for 35 minutes is RIDICULOUS! I was in line before I could tell how fast it was moving and after only a few minutes, I was stuck. Once you are in the drive thru there is no exiting. I literally crawled for 35 minutes as if I were exiting a stadium after a Taylor Swift concert. Giving this specific In-N-Out 3 stars because of how the drive thru is handled. It's very tight and does not give any leniancy to bigger sized cars. Multiple cars had to reverse or go over the curb in order to complete the turn. It's makes you want to just go inside and order when the purpose of a drive thru is to make easier for people who don't want to get out of their car. read more
