First, it's fast food, I get it. When you pay $20.30 for a Beyond Famous Star, Waffle Fry, Lg Coke with lite ice and an order of onion rings, you have expectations. I really do like the flavors of Carl's Jr, but like many complain, "the food is lukewarm." Waiting 10 minutes with no one in front of you and the food is almost cold when you get home, not acceptable. Truly, it's not the workers. It's obviously Carl's Jr operations model that has failed us and the workers. It doesn't matter what location you go to, it's the same thing. We wanted to have brunch at Ventana in Pismo, but they were busy (holiday weekend) so we decided to head back home instead. Will definitely hit them up next time we're down here. Thankfully, Carl's Jr. was right off the 101 exit and decided to pay them a visit. I tried to go through their drive thru with our RV van, but their 9 foot clearance was cutting it too close with our roof air. So my co-pilot Sweetie, the boss, made me go out and order our food in the lobby. The things we do for love. Hahaha :) Gotta tell ya, life is full of great surprises. I was blown away with their excellent service. The staff who took my order, even gave me suggestions I would never have thought of ordering. Deep fried zucchini? Whaat???? It was delicious. They even deliver your food at your table if you dined in. I don't think Mickadees even does that. The only gripe was our burgers weren't as tasty, but you can't win them all. I have been to the Atascadero Carl's Jr several times. It seems to be not very clean and recently when I discussed a problem with some gift card issues the Assistant Manager in Atascadero refused to help me out and rolled her eyes at me as if I had done something wrong. I spoke to the Manager on the Carl's Jr staff phone as she was not even in the store on a Tuesday late afternoon. All she said was you will have to come back and I maybe at the store tomorrow morning. I came back on Wednesday and the store manager was not there on Wednesday afternoon either. I keep getting the run around. Basically, I got screwed out of my hard earned cash on their gift card that they never properly activated. Don't buy any gift cards from Carl's Jr at all. I probably will not ever come to this Atascadero Carl's J.R. ever again, even to purchase a gift card. They lack customer service and in my opinion were rude to me and do not know how to resolve a customer problem, place was not very clean, lack of supervision and rude Assistant afternoon Manager. User's recommendation: District Manager Needs to Inspect this location. I would stay clear of this fast food. They need to watched and trained in activating their gift cards. The interior here is clean... in fact they were cleaning when we arrived. The drink station was clean and well stocked. I was promptly greeted and the gal who waited on me was friendly. The food cake out quickly and was fresh. She had no problem bringing me back out a ranch even though I'd forgotten to mention I'd wanted one when ordering. The interior is spacious and well lit. There is even an outdoor seating area, but today was a rainy day so we opted for a booth inside. This is a very nice location! read more

I feel like they're slowly lagging behind other fast food options like Taco Bell and Jack in the Box that have gone to great lengths to provide protection for their employees. While their food has always been consistently subpar, their treatment of their hardworking employees should not be. This place is always awesome at this time. The same gentleman works the drive thru everytime we come here and he is the nicest, friendliest, person ever. He asks us what we need with it like sauce or napkins etc. The drive thru itself seems clean. I have seen ones with ketchup squished all over the place, this place has none. Right on the main street of town which is nice and not far from highway 101. I do not believe they do android or apple pay since I asked and he informed he has tried it a few times to no avail. Never going back to this establishment. We ordered a meal but then asked the guy (Angel) if we could have tap water inside the cup instead of the soda. He suggested we buy a bottle of water but we said no thanks as we didn't want to waste our money on a bottle of water. Once we came to the pickup window he handed us our meal and a glass of tap water however when I looked at the receipt there was A charg for a bottle of water. When I brought this to his attention he was immediately irritated. I asked him to please not charge us for bottled water because we did not order it, he said fine and asked for the tap water back. Kind of a weird location first off, but overall what you can expect. I've been here a couple times, and both haven't been great. I feel bad for the employees though as both times I've been here they have been dealing with some really crappy people trying to maximize the coupon mailers. So I'd rate the people they have to deal with at a 0/1 as they seem to be some sort of shitty transients on a regular basis. That being said, the staff is friendly and the food is good. So we decided to go to the local Carl's junior OOPS BAD CHOICE When I pulled up to the drive-through window the young lady that greeted me was wearing and was super nice. She took my money asked me what sauce I wanted and then she disappeared. shortly after that a man replaced her who was not wearing a mask. he was taking orders through the drive-through and making drinks breathing right into the drinks. No mask. Very disturbing. After about 5 or 6 minutes, way too long, he handed me my 2 bags and I quickly left without checking the contents. Of course I got home and they almost got it right! They only left out the jalapeno poppers, oh and and instead of a superstar with 2 patties and cheese I got a famous star, no cheese, one patty. Oh yeah, the fries were limp and a bit soggy. So far, the worst place that I have been to in Natomas to eat. The food was extremely over cooked, smooshed, and made my wife and I sick. I would rate this 0 stars if I could. Quick backstory: I am a simple, 18 year old. I work at Starbucks in Theatre Drive in Templeton, so I understand the whole customer-service stress jazz. I went through the drive thru and didn't even mind the 15 minute wait because I expected this out of Carl's Jr.'s in general. I got to the order kiosk and she seemed to enter in everything correctly minus one item. It said my total was $25 and had 3 combos but I only ordered two small combos. After waiting 10 more minutes and seeing the car in front of me drive off without food, I knew this was going to be a great experience (sarcasm intended). I get to the window and I could tell the person at the window was having a hard time understanding me. I can only assume she didn't speak English well, and I wasn't even upset with that. I get it. But she just starts sighing when I explain that she was over charging me. Then I gave her my card, thinking she fixed it when my total says $16. I get the receipt and it's a completely different order. Then she starts shoving lemonades out (I ordered Dr. Peppers) and I tell her that it's plain wrong. She says "you ordered lemonade." and I tell her that I did not. Maybe she misunderstood me. I ask nicely for my correct drinks and She yells "Oh my god!" and slams the window and comes back with one (1) diet soda and closes the window again. I sat for a few minutes and she opens it to ask me "Do you understand? Do you understand? I'm waiting for my next car. Leave." So I leave, but then I pull up to go inside. I come inside and tell this other female employee that I got the completely wrong order and got charged for it. She thinks I want food, but I just wanted a refund. She takes my receipt and then point to the employee, Lulu, who was the one at the window. Keep in mind, Lulu looked like she was the manager. I wait for a few minutes, still nothing. They completely ignore me and the others in the lobby. At that point I was so upset that I just left to go home and sadly ate my wrong order. I called corporate and reported it but I still feel robbed. I wasn't asking for much. I feel that I was being calm and composed- I didn't yell or complain. I just wanted my order. Like I said, I understand the difficulty of customer service in a restaurant (as I work in this environment) but this was unacceptable. Especially for someone who looked to be a manager and someone who looked older. I assumed they would be more mature than this. This was the first and last time I will go here. I went to carls junior in atascadero this morning about 7:30 am. I wondered why no cars were in the drive thru as McDonalds had a line around the corner. I ordered a biscuit sandwich that was so horrible I through it away. The bisciut was a lump of crumbles, the egg looked like a sliver of cheese and the so called cheese was hard and not melted. Now I know why there was no one in line. I will never eat at this establishment again. I don't know how they stay in business. read more

Make a note in your logs: on Saturday 11/05/2016 at 1:45pm, you served me at the drive thru a really bad burger (not fully cooked, pink in the middle) & you failed to include my fries. Whoever was managing at that time is falling asleep at the wheel - and whoever is cooking your burgers may likely get you sued one day over a health catastrophe or compliance violation. I live & work within a couple of minutes of this restaurant, and I have come here at least once a month for the last few years... However, I think I may never go back unfortunately. Not clean high chairs.The parking lot is full of shady characters. Service seems ok but they should tell the homeless people hanging out by the front door that they can't smoke so close to the entrance. We walked with our kids through a lot of smoke to get in. Carl's Jr. is an old school fast food burger joint. They still grill their burgers. No frying in pools of grease, and NO FREAKIN' MICROWAVE. (I'm lookin' at YOU, Burger King.) You can get an unapologetically American sandwich like my favorite, the Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger, and better yet you can get it at 8 IN THE MORNING if you want. AMERICA, F-YEAH!
