This is the best in-n-out I've ever been to. We used to live in La Verne and I ate here all the time growing up. I still come on occasion and I drive from 15 minutes away in upland/rancho to come to this specific location. My recently found Yelpie friend who happens to be 2023 Yelp Inland Empire (IE) Reviewer of the Year had recommended the Grilled Cheese to me. Thank you my friend! It is an actual item offered at In-N-Out. I did not know they even had this item. I believe it's on their secret menu. Yes, they have a secret menu! It can only be found online. Look it up! I was in the La Verne area and drove to this In-N-Out. Went through drive-thru on the left side, but there was no menu or speaker on the left side. I wasn't sure if I could use the right side menu and speaker to order. I ended up driving right up to the window to order. It was raining so not too many customers at the time. Anyway, the nice gentleman at the window took my order. I had to park and wait for my order. Maybe the grilled cheese and fries with no salt require special handling LOL... not 100% sure. I waited for about 5+ minutes. They finally brought the bag of food to me. Thank you! I was expecting the standard grilled cheese with grilled white bread and melted cheese. No Siree Bob! What I got was their standard bun lightly toasted on the inside with their famous creamy tangy secret sauce spread plus lettuce, tomatoes, white onions and melted American cheese. WOW... it tasted amazing! Simple with a BANG! I added their tasty fries into the grilled cheese and it took it to a whole different level of grilled cheese! Try it for yourself sometime! Had my fist bad experience at an in n out. The cashier seemed overwhelmed and ended up getting my order wrong. After clarifying the correct order I was confident it was correct. Only to go home and find items missing from the order that were indeed charged but not fulfilled. It's honestly not worth driving back, dealing with the craziness of the line and fixing it. So I got home and watched my family all eat in in out while my food was not given. My fault for not triple checking, but it's a big letdown and i probably will avoid in n out now. read more

This location on the corner of D St. and foothill in La Verne is always spot on. They are pretty quick in the drive-through. Staff is very friendly. The food is always hot and fresh and seldom, If ever do they get that order wrong They have seating outside only under some beautiful trees so it's great on a nice day but on a cold day or over hot day not the best highly recommend this location. read more

I would like to start off by saying, if I could check in to all In N Out locations around the area I would but, it'd be too embarrassing to admit because I can safely say I've been to all locations about 100 + times each (since the early 90's). I would like to focus on my many experiences I've had here throughout all times of day. FOOD - BURGER: Their meat is always cooked to perfection. Their lettuce is always fresh. If you get onion, as long as it's not burnt or overly cooked with char, its good! Their bread, is generally good but sometimes it tastes a little burn/charred. The tomato, as long as its not that last piece holding on to dear life, it is fresh and tasty along with all the other condiments in the burger. FRIES: Regular fries are always a hit or miss. Sometimes their the best fresh tasting fries you've ever had and the other times, their dry, overcooked, burnt on the corners - they just taste bad. I've had their animal style fries many times - same thing, the fries are hit or miss. Sometimes they put too much cheese and not enough spread or grilled onions... the cheese ratio can be a bit too much and may feel like you're not getting the full experience of how good they can taste. If you are in a rush, I understand you cannot get off and must go to drive thru but if your main purpose is to get animal style fries then I suggest going in and eating there - to make sure they're cooked good or else you get a bad taste in your mouth. DRINKS: I typically get a pink lemonade. No complaints there, it is always delicious! I also get the Neapolitan shake, as long as they clean the line, it is delicious and fresh. I'm always hesitant when I order the shakes because of this and also, I always get Neapolitan and sometimes they give me vanilla and chocolate only and other times their machine only has chocolate or vanilla available. AMBIANCE / SERVICE - When in drive thru, you may get a warm welcoming person to greet you and take your order (sometimes there is an actual person outside when they're real busy). Make sure they repeat your order back to you, make sure you look and check your food so nothing is wrong and you get what you've ordered. (I would say about double check your order when it is more than one meal; at times there will be something wrong either your burger is cheese instead of without or you get regular instead of animal style fries. It is very unfortunate to come home and experience that.) I like to walk up and order and sit on their lunch area, its nice. OVERALL - I still come back to order food here because the burger is delicious! I am always hesitant with their fries and shakes but, I like to give them the benefit of the doubt. Not sure if I can ask for fresh fries and ask about cleaning the line on their shake machine - but one day when I have the courage... I will. Customer service can be better but it'll do. read more

We were having a birthday party on 4th of July for about 20-25 people and did not have time to cook, so I decided to go to In-N-out before they opened to speak with the manager to see if that something they would do. I spoke to Brooklyn, super nice and very helpful! I explained my situation and she right away said yes, just to come in a couple days prior to the event to place my order and pay for it. We also set a time frame so that they wouldn't be overwhelmed. 2 days prior to our event I went to In-N-out and asked to speak to the manager, Veronica came out and I explained to her what Brooklyn and I had talked about. She was really nice and very accommodating she even took my order before they opened. On the day of the party I showed up at the time frame previously discussed to pick up the food, everything was already boxed up and ready to go! Rueben was the one that helped us out to the car. I asked him if we could have extra chopped chilis and he went in right away and got me more chilis, super, super nice guy!!! I must admit I was EXTREMELY impressed with the whole crew!! I really wanted to tip to let them know what a great job they did, but my husband said that I might get them in trouble. Last Sunday, I decided to visit places that reminded me of my childhood. This particular In-N-Out location, in La Verne, was one place I visited, as it's about two miles from the childhood home, by Bonelli Lake, I lived in until I was eight years old. It has no dine-in seating, only outdoor seating. There's two drive-thru lanes--if you use the left one, you have to pay and get your food through your passenger window. I learned a few years ago that this was the third of 418 In-N-Out locations built. The first In-N-Out location built is in Baldwin Park. The second one built is in Covina, on Grand Avenue, coincidentally almost across the street from where I live today. In-N-Out seems to follow me around. When I moved to Prescott, Arizona, for college, in 2004, they opened one of their first Arizona locations, a few blocks away from the college I attended, a few weeks before I started college! For almost most of my college years, I lived off of In-N-Out. My freshman year, I often ignored my freshman meal plan because I loved In-N-Out so much. During my sophomore, junior, and senior years, I think I was eating at In-N-Out an average of at least three times a week. When I was a kid, from about 1988, to about 1994, this particular La Verne In-N-Out was how my family started most of our "family nights." In my then-child mind, I would hope for Chuck E. Cheese, but In-N-Out was the "losing" option (of course, this is no longer the case). Still, today, the onion smell reminds me of how my family and I would sit in the In-N-Out parking lot, in front of the Stater Brothers (before it was renamed "Stater Bros"). I will agree with a previous observation that this location's presentation quality drops slightly when extremely busy and, at such times, I'd recommend ordering fries-light unless you like 'em on the crispier side as a standard. (My only non-presentation issue and undeserving of a deduction.) Hey, it's a busy, popular spot on a main boulevard, so expect a line at certain times of the day; I think the staff runs 'em through pretty quickly - and there's always walk-up service if you want an edge on those folks with their butts glued to their car seats. With a slight ordering "adjustment" to your taste preferences when the long lines are present, you'll get the In-n-Out fix that brought you here in the first place - despite the many other fans with the same GREAT idea! The quality at this in and out has not been that great. I noticed that when they have long lines, the quality of their food goes down. I understand that it is a fast food place and they are trying to get everyone out asap but I also believe it is important to make sure the quality of the burgers are still good. I ordered a cheeseburger, extra lettuce/tomatoes, extra toasted buns w/ chop chili's. What I got was a stale burger with very little lettuce/tomatoes and the thinnest beef patty. The bread tasted old like it had been out for awhile. The same goes for the fries. I asked for four spreads and they gave me two. Do better Coke was FLAT For my fries side, I was served what seemed like a half order of soggy cold fries-- see the picture And the animal style fries were also cold by the time I got home. Looks like they made them with their eyes closed too. I don't get why my burger was also cold by the time I got home after I waited nearly 40 minutes in a stagnant line. I will be back for a refund and this has killed my cravings for in n out for months I'm sure. So so disappointed and upset over an hour wasted on gross cold food. Thank goodness! I hadn't been to this location before but I cannot tell you how many I have been to and there were mistakes made left and right. I came in and before we could even say hi to the cashier, they went ahead and offered my lil lone a little activity park to entertain herself with while we waited for our orders to be up for pick up at the counter. How awesome. She happily ran off to the table where her dad had found us a seat. We ordered with a few different specifications/modifications to the usual preparations. they weren't crazy intense but I just feel like we ask for a lot. they were so nice and were able to accommodate us without any issues. Our order was taken, repeated and made with no problems. I cannot thank them enough for that. The smallest things made the biggest difference for us. The friendly cashier brought our food to us. Our order wasn't called but the cashier kept track of our order and actually took a moment to run it over to us. I thought that was so sweet. Even my little one was so thrilled.
