I do like a good burger, and I can always rely on In-N-Out to make me a good one indeed. I had the Double Double with Cheese with all the fixings, including grilled onions to go. The double beef patties tasted great. To my surprise that actually cooked the meat a little under, which I prefer, so the meat was a little extra juicy. The cheese was perfectly melted, and all the rest of the ingredients were fresh, and the sauteed onions were sweet and tender. The bread was soft and warm the way it should be. Great inexpensive burger. The staff members, even during COVID-19, they were awesome. While they practiced safe procedures, they did it in high spirits and a welcoming attitude. LOL, I hope no one is really going to In N Out to read reviews...because they are all amazing and understand the assignment. It's basic. It's cheap. It's filling. It's juicy. The point is....THEY ALL will have an insane wrap around the corner or block type of line, they will get to you when they get to you, the food will be hot, the fries will be the crispy simple cuts, the burgers are juicy and just such a classic. Your bill should not be sky-high. You do not have many menu options but I mean get a burger, add fries, maybe a shake - how much more picky can ya be? Yes, we did wait in a 15 - 20 minute line, but you can't complain, we are even blessed to be in a CAR, waiting for FOOD....something a lot of people do not even have the blessing of, so rather than complain, be thankful. I am so disappointed in the service shown at this location. TLDR; Employee openly picked through our food over the counter and was adamant that our incorrect order was correct. I've been to the Poway location a couple times via drive thru, each time they read you back your order twice (once at register, another at pickup window) to confirm. If a drive thru order is wrong I don't usually complain or go back to get it fixed once I leave, but we ordered a 3x3 and double double protein style, and instead received one double double, and a protein style burger with a single patty. My friend and I truly believed both orders were incorrect and I was so disappointed this time that I drove back to ask for it to be fixed. The cashier asked their fellow employees what to do about our order, and a female employee helped us. After explaining our order and showing the receipt, that employee proceeded to touch our food and first opened the 3x3 to claim the order was correct. However, she stated "Yes, there are two patties in there." We asked her if 3x3 meant 2 patties, to which she said no and said "there are two patties here, and one in the back." I don't know where the back of the burger she just picked through went. When we asked about the dbl-dbl protein style and showed it in the bag, the same employee pulled it out of the bag, opened the lettuce, and ripped the meat apart to show us the two patties (which looked like one to only us, apparently). I don't know why she kept touching the food. After claiming that the patties stick together in between the cheese, and that our order was actually correct, she put the food back in the paper wrap, into the bag, and gave it to us to eat. A refund was not offered, but we were not there to argue for one. We just wanted to get the correct order (which was not received). Unfortunately, we were disgusted after watching her rip apart and dig through cheese and patties, especially since we did not know where that employee's gloves have been prior to touching our food, that we did not want to eat any of it. read more

We love this in n out burger in Poway. Even when the line is long, the staff here works fast to get orders done. A line of 8-10 cars can only take 10 minutes for fresh food is great. You turn thru parking lot. Just to see everyone else turned right. You follow what "should be" the traffic pattern... to find a sign that's says... "no drive through access" . AND the parking lot, line employee serving all the cars who "turned right", in violation of the signs. I literally hate chick filet. This was enough to allow me to give in and offer to go to chick filet instead. TallGirl, said no. I'll park and walk in. Price vs quality vs efficiency, you can't beat In-N-Out. This specific location gets craaaazy busy around lunch time! Pro tip: if you see the drive-through line wrapping around and back to the Staples entrance... park and walk in. I've timed it several times now, and it always has paid to park, walk in, and order to-go. Today there was a super long line at 1:15pm (note that the lunch rush is roughly 11-1:30 here). I went inside and even though it was crowded in there too, I had my food 8 minutes after ordering it. The drive-through line is often at least 10-15 minutes. We all know about the secret menu... and Animal Style is not even really a secret. But here's what I love more than anything: chilies! I always get my double double animal style with chilies and it's awesome. It's not really that spicy, and it cuts the heaviness or the animal style nicely. The perfect combo! Pro tip: definitely eat the fries first. They are all-natural... which means they also get cold and blah *very* fast! I want to preface this to add context. I was unemployed for four months and my wife and I could barely skate by each month. I get work and we decide to treat ourselves to some In-N-Out (it's her favorite place). Everything goes smoothly up until the window where you pay. The young lady (apparently she isn't) there took offense to me responding to her question "Hey! How is it going today?" with "We're doing well Ma'am and yourself?" personally. She responded aggressively with "Excuse me?!" And I simply repeated the previous phrase. However removing the Ma'am. She said "That's what I thought..." and proceeded to keep me at the window for a considerable time. That explains the enormous line that day I guess. To be honest that whole experience soiled my meal. And left my wife and I guessing what we're supposed to do about a situation like that next time. The whole atmosphere in my own car was unpleasant. I don't believe working front facing in the service industry is a great place for people taking offense easily. It's not that complicated now-a-days. People just make things complicated. Just got done eating the In-N-Out I got. The line to get into this place was not too bad considering how long the lines usually are. I got a double animal style cheese burger with a regular size of fries and a medium Coke. The burger was really juicy and the Coke was not flat . I'm not sure how they salt the fries though but they're doing it wrong. THEY WERE WAY TO SALTY. I threw them right in the trash. Assembly line perfection. This In-N-Out location is still just as good, if not better, than when I originally posted a review. With a couple of years since they opened, this crew cranked out burgers and fries like clockwork. On time. Friday lunchtime crowd was very busy. We considered the drive-thru, but the line of cars around the store and down the driveway was a bit much, even with that extra employee out front taking advanced orders beyond the speakerbox. That line, and someone needed to use the potty. Even with the line inside stretched to the front door, it actually moved quickly. The wait for our food was fast, given how slammed the kitchen was with orders. My flavor is the single cheeseburger, animal style, with chopped chilies. I prefer their shoestring fries done light well so they are a bit crisp and don't turn soggy from getting steamed in the to-go bag. Kudos to this store location.
