I needed a car inspection, and my mechanic recommended this shop. When I approached the counter, I was met by a very rude young man. Another employee stepped in, apologized, and mentioned that they constantly have to address his behavior. Honestly, if someone needs to be spoken to about their conduct on a daily basis, they shouldn't be working at your establishment. Because of that interaction, I'm not likely to return to this location. I will say the rest of the staff was polite and helpful. read more

Priscilla, my SUV, was making a rattling noise. I feared a big repair bill, but something had to be done before the "issue" became serious, so I dropped her off here one morning. A few hours later, I received a voice mail to call or stop by. I came back late afternoon and one of the mechanics explained that a plate covering up a reservoir in back underside of my SUV had become loose and was causing the rattling. The mechanic tightened up the screws and my car was fine. I was so relieved! Then, I realized, the mechanics here are HONEST! I stared at him for a few and he just smiled. I said, "Thank you, how much do I owe y'all?" His response, "No charge. We hope to see you back for some mainetance." Wowzers! Requested a look over given that at two different places I went to for other matters, one for a battery, and one for oil leak under the hood of the engine. Battery guy said battery good but need a serpentine belt, I did doubt that since it had been changed, didn't look or sound bad. The oil guy said I needed 4 struts, unsure but was concerned about both these comments. Our family have used in n out lube for many years, I went there. Nope! All good, just breaks in back. Got in really quick. Needed a state inspection and oil change and they quickly lined me out. Hours of operation on Yelp say they're open until 5:30 M-F, but they close at 5. I apologized profusely for coming in at 4:45 when they close at 5, I hate being that person so hopefully yelp will update the hours with the photos I sent in. As per usual at ANY oil change place, they try to sell you wipers, cabin air filters and any other fluids that they've checked. I see reviews that have comments about "they tried to sell me something", DUH! that's what business do - it's our jobs as consumers to educate ourselves on what our cars need and you can tell them no if you don't want it, you don't have to buy it. I ended up buying wipers while I was there as they mentioned mine were bad. I know they are bad, I used them that day and they were terrible. They also showed me my cabin air filter, but I educated myself when I bought my vehicle on how often to change and declined as it wasn't time yet. They were friendly, awesome and DID NOT try to pressure me into buying things as a female or treat me like an idiot, they simply asked and when I declined were super friendly. I prefer shops like this to the "chain" places. These guys know what they're doing and don't waste time. Went in for a oil change. The mechanic came in and asked if I wanted my filter changed. I told him thanks for reminding me that I had ordered some online and they were sitting in my garage for me to replace. Before he turned around I asked if it was the cabin or engine air filter. He looked at me and said "you know which one it is" turned around and walked away. RUDE! Never coming back, I have lived in Fairmount for 28 years and will now drive somewhere else for my oil change. read more

Ladies stay away from this place! They make more money off of female customers. I brought in my truck for a routine inspection and a routine inspection turned into a $60 visit. One man said my right trail light was not working (not true). Then another man came in talking about how my windshield wipers were broken and they needed to be fixed because it wouldn't pass inspection which was another lie. My truck has always passed inspection with flying colors. Ladies stay away from this place! You have been warned. Been going for years, boss was always great. Had oil changed for $100, decided to check filter. Clearly not changed at all, covered with old grime. They replaced filter, should have got refund and unsure even if oil was actually changed. In short, they lost lifelong customer. Do not go here! read more

My preferred auto shop's state inspection machine wasn't working, and they recommended I stop by In N Out Lube. My first couple of minutes, I was unsure about the place because besides someone leading my car in, no one gave me instruction. Two minutes later, Doug came by to let me know that they would get working on my inspection and the guy in front of me was finishing up. I walked over to the Antique store nearby for 15 minutes and came back. When I returned he told me that part of the inspection was to check my wiper blades and one of the wiper blades was beyond its time. He changed the wiper blade and also gave me a new customer discount ($3). I was unsure about changing the other blade, so he inspected it. Sure, you could argue he wanted more money for the second blade, but he took the time to show it to me. While I was waiting to be rung up, he asked me if my front electrical plug was not working. I was surprised that they asked me that, but I said yes. He said it's apparently common and easy to fix, so he was having a guy fix it for me. They ended up fixing my fuse and now I can use my front plug! Best of all, they fixed it for free. Overall, I came in for an inspection with no expectations and they succeeded every standard by checking things that don't even seem necessary and by fixing them for free or at a discount. Doug is a very friendly person and I would gladly come back to the shop. This location is family owned and has been there for 35 years. The one and only downside of this store is that the waiting room smells like smoke. It was a nice day when I went, so I had the option of standing outside and walking around while I waited. read more

The car I took in for an oil change doesn't get driven much, but I take it in for an oil change based on time, rather than mileage. I also asked them to check the air filter. They said both were clean and didn't need to be changed. They sent me on my way - no charge. While it isn't a fancy place, it has a clean, comfortable waiting area, and the employees are friendly, polite and professional. I'll be back! read more

Stop by after work and service was great. As soon as I pulled up, I was greeted by one of the mechanics to see what I needed done. Told him," needed inspection sticker". So he took my info and insurance told me to wait in the waiting area and pulled my Jeep forward. Didn't wait much, when he came to get me and I paid and on my way I went. Did notice they did have other customers and they were all great with them. Greeting them, calling them by Mr and Mrs. For a little auto service place staff was great and clean. While my service was very fast and friendly I'm a bit disappointed. (I went by last Thursday, today is Monday by the way.) You see my "low tire" light was on and I asked if they could fill them up. I was told that's customary. Awesome. So when it's time to leave the manager says "Sometimes it takes a mile or two for the light to go off." Fine, no big deal. It never goes off though? Today my tire is dang near flat so I go to the gas station with my husband to air up my tires. When we go to unscrew the valve covers I find 3 nails in one tire and 2 nails in another tire. Now, I didn't ask for them to rotate or balance the tires. I understand they're not a tire shop. But surely, if I saw all these nails while airing up my tires so didn't they. Why didn't someone mention them to me? Or did they not actually air up my tires after all? They maybe can't fix the problem but I could have gone somewhere that did. I was conveniently off work and had plenty of time, now I can't say the same. read more

Went for an emissions test and oil change. Glad to support a local garage rather than a chain whenever possible! Sticker price of the two services was a bit higher than expected - $40 for an oil change + quarts. Also, as far as I could tell, there wasn't a restroom for customers to use while they waited. Had water for customers to drink from a cooler, which is nice, though perhaps snacks could be a great addition for longer jobs. I have patronized this business since 1990 for oil changes and state inspections. Today (02/12/22) I had the worst experience there or anywhere, in fact. I brought my car in for a simple oil change. When it came time to check out, I paid with my credit card and noted that the invoice seemed high. The employee pointed out that there was a service charge added by the credit card company. I have never heard of this kind of charge added to an invoice by a credit card company. The employee stated that the business doesn't get any of the service charge. I countered that the business was actually realizing the charge . After a couple of unpleasant exchanges I told the employee I would not be back. He responded that they didn't need my business. When I got back home I called the credit card company and was informed that they never service charge the customer at point-of-sale. I can only conclude that the business' credit card fee from the credit card company was being passed on to me. The employee could have just told me that and not have made up some cockamamie story. Since 1990 I have relied on this business but no more. read more

No one tried to sell me any crap I didn't need. I had my headlight changed out for less than 20$. The whole process of oil change and a new headlight took less than 1 hour and there was a 20 minute wait. I'll be back in 3,000 miles! read more

Very good service! They are very nice and thorough. They give tips and reccomendations about your car and what it needs. I was taking my car to the kwik lube down the street, but I will never go back. Those people are short and rude, and they left my oil cap unscrewed, my dip stick up and the plastic part of my air intake completely off just sitting under my hood next to the engine. In-N-Out Lube is where its at! I won't go back to Kwik Lube ever! read more
