Fantastic buffet on a Sunday afternoon! Chicken Tikka Masala was very good and there was a great selection of other flavors.

Just had dinner here and the food was fantastic! We had the chicken Tikka masala, goat pepper masala, and garlic naan. Everything was very flavorful, as spicy as we wanted it, and very high quality. Authentic Indian food in GREEN BAY?!?! AMAZING!! I am from San Francisco and I have been to India, this place is the real deal! The curries are so full of flavor. The owners are really sweet and warm-hearted. Can't wait to have them cater my wedding! My brother, my wife, and I spent the holidays back home with the parents and I, being a fan of Indian food, persuaded the family to try Indian Bhavan on Christmas night. On my previous trip to Green Bay, we had tried Taste of India and everyone seemed to like them but I felt like being adventurous. In summary, our experience was great. Our waitress --- who was actually Latina --- was very friendly and even brought our 10 month old a complimentary serving of ladoo which he loved. They also had highchairs which I was originally worried about. We had Chicken Saag, Butter Chicken Masala (x2), Chicken Tikka Masala, and Chicken Vindaloo. She offered the option to make it "Not Spicy", "Mild", or "Spicy". I tried the Butter Chicken Masala and the Vindaloo made as "Spicy" and it was perfect -- just enough heat to make your mouth toasty without taking away from the flavor of the food. My mother, who can't tolerate any heat, had the Chicken Saag as "Not Spicy" and she seemed happy with her meal. Both the Garlic Naan and Plain Naan were excellent. I'm not drinker, but my brother and father enjoyed their Taj Mahal beer (offered as an alternative to Flying Horse that was not available). Serving sizes were the largest I've seen at any of the many Indian restaurants I've visited (which of course where not in Green Bay) and each entree was served with a hefty portion of rice. There was enough leftover sauce for another hefty meal. If Indian Bhavan was local for me (Albany, NY), they'd definitely be in competition for my favorite restaurant. Their food is bland compared to other Indian food. They have 300 items in their menu, it is quanity over quality. The owners treat their employees poorly as well as well as the community. One of the reasons they are always understaffed. They charge $18 for the buffet which is too expensive for the quality. Which is not that great. Unfortunate. Stopped for a late lunch on a Saturday after Christmas shopping and excited to try this place. Walked in at 2:40pm and was greeted by a hostess. It looked like a nice place and smelled good. The hostess informed us that they were closing at 3pm and told us to come back at 5pm when they reopened for dinner. Finally got a chance to try the food with friends on another trip. Nice variety on the lunch buffet, clean restaurant, but Taste of India is still our local fav. read more

I had been craving butter chicken for a while and someone recommended this place to me. I ordered it because it was the only place that had it lol I took it to go and when I got home and opened it it was very very greasy. The rice wasn't cooked properly and it seemed like they just made it fast and didn't take their time plus they took all day to have it ready. I would think because of the price that it was going to be well made but I guess not. read more

Went here today for the lunch buffet. They had about a dozen different things to try plus soups and desert. I sampled everything and liked it all. Not sure what the names for each dish were but the goat in a brown sauce, fish in red curry, fish in yellow curry, and chicken masala were very flavorful and great. Everything was fresh and still warm. The building inside was very clean. Buffet was $13.00 per person. I will definitely go back and feel comfortable to recommend this place to friends. read more

As vegetarians visiting Green Bay, we were worried that our options would be limited to some tame pasta dishes or grilled cheese sandwiches. Not only does India Bhavan have good vegetarian food, it has good food... period. Everything we had was incredibly flavorful and delicious. We truly enjoyed the aloo palak and paneer tikka masala. I am from countryside ,Illinois and took a trip to Door county WI last week. On our return trip back to Chicago, we stopped at this place at Green Bay. Actually, this restaurant was recommended by my nephew, who went there a few months back. We were all very tired and hungry. On our way, the highway was closed because of a major accident and we had to take some cross roads to get there. The restaurant was neat and well kept. The waiter Heera Singh and the other Keralite waiter took care of us very well. The real surprise came when we started getting the items we ordered. The quantity was great and the taste was just fantastic. The prices were very reasonable.The owner of the restaurant, who came to the premises after we started eating came to our table, introduced himself and asked for our suggestions about the quality of food and the service. I wish yelp had a ten star rating and I would gladly give ten stars to this place. Kudos to the chef, all items, from the appetizers to the main course and finally to the desserts were carefully prepared with high quality taste and with very generous portions. This restaurant has slid below the lowest standards. They started out great, serving dosa, and ala carte was great. Now they take hours to serve, their servers and main counter billing personnel are rude, act like they are doing you a favor. Portion sizes if ordering ala carte are a huge rip off, they charge you double the price to serve you half the amount. The food comes out cold , and not to mention the buffet menu standards are low low low, and they seem to freeze and re serve the same food. This is a great place in Green Bay. The lunch buffet is great at this place. I always go on Sundays and the variety is just great. The meats are very well cooked and all the curries feel they have been cooked to what they should be instead of just a single sauce for all meats. Their variety of the veggie stuff might be lacking at times but they make that up with appetizers. I have not had any complaints with customer service and the food here clearly rivals with some of the good buffet places I have tried in Chicago area too. I have very little experience with Indian food, but this was amazing. We had no idea what to order, and our waitress saw the lost look on our faces and came over to help. She basically told us what dish we should each get, and had us pick the meat we wanted and the spice level. We were not disappointed! Also, we had 2 young children with us, and our waitress brought them a couple of delicious mango smoothie things (no idea what they were, but the kids loved them) free of charge! I've dined in and done take out from here. Their buffet is great if you want to try different things. Unfortunately their carry out has been very inconsistent, sometimes fantastic and sometimes it tastes like you got the scraps from the kitchen thrown into sauce that tastes nothing like what you ordered. We had a very nice dining experience here. The food was excellent. The wait staff was very helpful with the menu items, offering to explain anything we didn't understand. They were very attentive without being overbearing. They made us feel like we mattered. We felt like they truly cared about our business in a way that no other restaurant has. They even gave us a complementary sweet at the end. In addition, the bathrooms were very clean and even smelled nice.
