I selected the loaded Bloody Marry which came with a chicken wing, mozzarella stick, pickle, celery, shrimp, assorted peppers, bacon, hard boiled egg, okra, asparagus and cheese!! There was also a little bottle of tobacco if you wanted more spice and a beer chaser for after! Keno and other lottery games are available for purchase in the lobby and the staff was super friendly! Everything was perfect. Masks were worn by staff, outdoor seating, no wait to get seated. We had drinks within a few minutes, placed our order shortly thereafter. It took a little time since it was made to order. The bloody Mary's were a meal in one, the beer cold, the drink and food menu extensive and well explained. Pretzels and cheese were great, grilled cheese with chutney, and homemade potato chips was amazing, the Cuban was filling and served with very good fries. We came here because of the advertised amazing Bloody Mary's. The second we walked in the door, the server glared at us, clearly she had hoped she was done for the night, but it was 5:45 pm. When we sat, the waitress immediately informed us that they were out of everything to make the famous drinks. We ordered plain ones. Less than 10 minutes later, our server came out with TWO loaded bloody Mary's, overflowing with toppings, to the table next to us (who arrived after us as well.) No explanation from the server, no apology for not realizing there were all the fixings for the drinks, no offer to make us the ones we came for, nothing. We just got to sit there watching this other table enjoy the drinks that we were denied when we tried to order them. Not sure we've ever been treated so poorly by a waitress... She then proceeded to talk about us to that table, stating, "I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do about it, we aren't usually open on Monday's. My manager just set me up for failure." We were never informed that they were out of fries, just had our meals brought out with alternate sides. She didn't even apologize for that, went inside and had the bartender return to inform us that they were out of fries. She never came to check on us, but checked the table next to us regularly. I'm not sure what we did to this server, but she treated us like dirt. How she is allowed to behave that way to customers, rolling her eyes, being blatantly rude, and complaining loudly. The food would have been good, but this server ruined it all. We WILL NOT be returning. read more

I think the servers at Indianhead roadhouse are phenomenal. Even on packed days they are very quick to get your drink orders and make sure that you're comfortable while you wait on the food. Their bloody Mary is to die for! I highly recommend you stop in just to have the bloody Mary if nothing else. Good location to also watch traffic from the lake. read more

Took a chance on a Sunday and was impressed with the improvements. I was last at the restaurant about two years ago and found it to be dark inside and not very welcoming. At the time we stayed outside and ate on the patio and had some of the issues that the others have mentioned in their post. But what a difference they have made recently. My son and I Went there a few Sundays ago and were immediately welcomed inside by a very nice gentleman. He was outside tending to the outside fire. It was a somewhat gloomy and chilly Sunday about 2 PM. We were immediately welcomed and shown to a table. It does appear they're taking all proper precautions inside for Covid regulations. We were immediately given menus along with a drink menu. We were explain the new menu items and the specials they had going. And I ordered the nearly famous bloody Mary and my son got an amazing Shirley Temple. We ordered the pretzel bites for an appetizer and received a large amount of them for a great price. They were good and my son nearly ate them all himself. My son had the kids chicken fingers and fries which he enjoyed even though he's a very picky eater. I had the Greek Gyro and found it to be very flavorful even though the meat what the previously frozen kind similar to that that you get off a Sysco food truck. There was nothing wrong with it. By the way my bloody Mary was very good and I ended up having a second drink that being a seasonal pumpkin beer which is also very good. The wait staff was very attentive and checked in on us just the right amount. I found the patrons inside to be very nice to have a conversation with as well. The inside was bright and they had Sunday football on the televisions. This place has come a long way recently and I overheard the staff talking about more renovation they plan to make over the winter. Not a lot of room, but they do well with what they have. If you go in the summer time on the weekend expect long waits on a table , food and drinks. It's worth the wait tho! Best Bloody Mary around! It's like a small salad with a nice sized piece of shrimp. For food, My personal favorites are the fish tacos, grilled chicken sandwich and the Anne burger. Old house-turned-restaurant across the street from the lake. The food here is really just bar food, but a good variety of appetizers and sandwiches to choose from. We sat inside since all of the patio seating was full, and this was probably a poor choice for such a hot day. They don't seem to have A/C, and the one ceiling fan was working very hard. It was quite hot inside, and the amount of flies and gnats buzzing around was distracting (and a little gross). Opening a few windows probably could have alleviated this issue. We would have had less fly issues had we been outside! There was a sign on the table that due to poor water pressure you had to pay 50 cents for a bottled water. Is this the same reason why they only have styrofoam plates and disposable silverware? I hope so - because the amount of trash this place generates must be insane. I enjoyed my bloody mary with all of the crazy toppings - it was like I had a whole side salad to eat along with my drink! It was fun that it also comes with a PBR chaser. My chicken gyro was fine, but nothing noteworthy and the fries were not very good. The bloody mary here is great, and totally worth the trip. The rest was take it or leave it. read more

I have been to Indian Head five times now, but only four times as a customer. The service at this restaurant is notoriously slow, and my experience there has provided more evidence to this reputation. Show up and wait five minutes to be seated, wait another five minutes for a server to drop off menus, wait 10 minutes for a draft beer to arrive at your table, etc... That being said, if you're willing to wait, the food is pretty good. The fish sandwich is my go-to order. The Bloody Marys ($18.50) are ridiculous--a meal in themselves. Seriously, don't order a full entree if you get one of those. My visit as a non-customer was silly, so allow me a mini-rant. My fiancée and I arrived at 6:30pm, and were told that the restaurant closed at 7pm... on a Friday night! As there was only one server working--again, on a Friday night in the summer!?!?--we were told that "she probably couldn't get to us" before the kitchen closed. So, we went elsewhere for dinner. Upon relaying this story to our server there and a bartender at another place, we were informed by both that Indian Head has had tax problems. As in, the management wasn't paying them. Of course, the IRS frowns upon this. All in all, Indian Head could be a fantastic restaurant if the management was competent. It's unclear why a lakeside restaurant is only open until 7pm on a weekend night in the summer. It's unclear why they only would have a single server on a weekend night in the summer. It's unclear why the manager/owner (?), who was working as a host, wouldn't help out at the tables both waiting and bussing. Every time I've been here I've waited over 30 minutes before a server even came up to my table and both times I ended up going up to the bar to try to get service and the bartender acted annoyed that I wasn't sitting at the bar but asking her for help. I cannot review the food, or the drinks other than their soda fountain, because after sitting there for an hour we got up and left. It did look good when served to the tables around us, however. I can only think that our waitress never actually entered our order. It was about 5 minutes from sitting down to getting our drinks and ordering 2 appetizers and 4 sandwiches. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. Our waitress came back to our table 40 minutes later to refill our cokes and iced tea. That was the first time she had stopped since we ordered. She said our appetizers were coming right out. 15 minutes later and seeing 3 more tables that arrived after us get food, we still had nothing. We finally talked to a different server and told her we were leaving and to cancel everything. Shame on us for staying so long. To add, in case this review is dismissed because of us being there on a holiday, let me say that the holiday is the reason we stayed as long as we did. Come here all the time with my folks that live on the lake. It's usually pretty packed some there is some wait on a table. That also makes finding a parking spot a challenge. We usually just park across the road and walk over. Makes getting out of there easier too as you can actually see traffic coming. Tight quarters inside, but they have tables to accommodate bigger parties. There is more seating outside. Menu is good, no pancakes or waffles for breakfast but breakfast is served til 11 on the weekend if you're a late riser. Their Bloody Mary's are massive! The brisket omelette is amazing, just be careful you don't flip it off the plate and into your lap like I did. Maybe that could be a suggestion to the cook to chop the brisket before putting it in the eggs. Another thing I wish they had were more high chairs for the little ones. They only have two and they were both in use when we went, so we all had to take turns holding my 8 month old. No big deal tho. Beer cheese spilled all over inside the containers because they didn't have enough sense to put LIDS on them and they stacked the boxes 3 high, trapping the moisture inside. This place is literally only good for prepackaged items such as CHIPS and their Bloody Mary's. If you go here for a Bloody Mary and you must eat something... the plain, french fries are probably the best choice. I'm never going back... ever. We've had a great place at the lake for 30 years and I've never been there before because I've always heard it was disgusting af but I didn't think they'd screw up fried bar food! Who can possibly screw up a fried pickle? BOY I WAS WRONG! Literally the most disgusting food in the world. I'd rather eat bugs. I will say, they were very kind and polite to my children... but it's a restaurant, not a daycare, and I was expecting at least halfway decent food. I'm literally throwing away $120 worth of food. Rolled in on a sunny Saturday for a quick lunch. Arrived at 11:30, and the place was only about half full. However, service was extremely slow. Everyone was friendly, but the wait staff was working in slow motion. That and the sign by my table explaining that "this is not a fast food restaurant", and that "it may take an hour or more for service" should have been my cues to leave. It's as if the owner actually takes pride in how long everything takes. It took over 45 minutes to get a chicken gyro and fries, and the place never got any busier. The gyro was bland, the chicken was chewy, and the fries were obviously from the freezer. Fail. They could easily do better and are wasting a great spot by the water. read more

My drink was fantastic and reasonably priced! My pulled pork sand which was delightful! The sides were simply ok. Hubby was not impressed with his very pricey grilled cheese however. We are lake residents and decided to try Indian Head again for the first time in a year. Found a seat as soon as we walked in. It took 10 minutes to get noticed. We were told someone would be right with us. It was another 12 minutes to get menus. All in all it was 55 mins to see any food. This has been an ongoing problem at this restaurant. Once you finally get food and drink, it is good, but ruined by the painfully slow, disorganized service. I am all for operating on "lake time", but when you cant even get drinks to pass the time, it makes this place a no return for us yet again. read more

Despite the negative reviews about the lousy service here we decided to come to try one of the infamous Bloody Marys. First, let me say the actual Bloody Mary is average at best. It is fun that it is loaded with all the garnishes, but honestly the actual drink is no better than the average mix. Plus, it was served in a disposable plastic cup, like the kind you get from a keg beer truck--nothing like the pictures posted. Second, the service is so bad here that it would never be worth coming for the Bloody Mary. Save your money. We sat at our table with throngs of servers, bartenders, bussers, cooks goofing off, literally had a towel fight, and actively avoiding eye contact with us for 40 minutes. Just as a disclaimer, I really was ready to like this place. It's been a great week at the lake, we've had some good food, and had a lot of fun. So that being said... We walked in at 9:10, and someone came out pretty quickly with menus and to take drink orders, but this was not at all indicative of future service. I didn't get a Bloody Mary, but according to the folks at our table who got it, it was just okay. We perused our menu, decided on our food, and waited for the server to return... and waited... and waited. At a point, it became clear to us that we wouldn't be getting served in a timely manner, and so we made a game of it, who could wait out who. We saw some bussers have a towel fight. We saw throngs of servers pass us by. We saw an employee sit down at what looked like an employee table, order food, and have his food served to him. It was truly comical. At 9:40, we opted to order a pizza from down the street, and they said it'd be ready in thirty minutes. Along comes 9:50, the bartender had to have seen us (we were sitting right in the middle of the restaurant, in front of the bar), and thought to himself, "what would be the funniest, most asinine thing I could say to these people who have waited forty minutes to have an order taken?" Apparently he thought that would be, "the kitchen closes in ten minutes". HILARIOUS! At this point, I personally couldn't even get mad about it, but we informed him of our situation and told him we wouldn't be ordering food, so he took the menus from us. Our server came ten minutes later and explained that they were short-staffed, and one of their servers had an emergency in the family. I'm not sure how in her head she justified that explanation, considering the number of employees we saw walk around us. If the restaurant was sparsely populated with employees, that explanation STILL really would have been bs. She comped our drinks, and we ended up having a really good pizza. read more
