Great food. Probably the best quality that I have had in the Bay Area. Service was just as good. We will come back again for the new Sunday buffet again. Ambiance is definitely over the top as well which is a nice bonus I guess. I have been to this place before but that was during Covid time so really didn't get to experience it as we did today. My friends and I were looking for an Indian buffet place and there weren't any options on this Sunday. My friend called the restaurant to see if they had a buffet that started at 11:30. It was still around 10:45 but the manager said that they will accommodate us at 11. We were all super hungry and our friend vouched for their food but I was hesitant to be honest. We got there around 11 and were greeted by a nice gentleman. He said to give them another 10 mins to finish setting up the buffet. In the mean time, he brought a quick appetizer for us to munch on. As we got done with it, buffet was ready. There were so many choices for both vegetarian and non. I'm vegetarian but my friends are not. We all were stuffed by end of it. My favorite was the Dal Makani and Rajma. But there were at least 5 other vegetarian choices along with a couple of indo-Chinese dishes. They also had snacks like Pani-Puri. I also had some warm gulab jamun with ras malai. My friends enjoyed everything that they had as well. They even had some fish pakoras. I was really impressed with this place. This was our second visit to this restaurant. We were pleased with the first outing and wanted to explore other menu items. The ambiance again was great with well-lit decor. Speaking about food we ordered. The Chole bature was mediocre - the batura was single piece huge but over fried and crispy rather than soft. The chole was way too salty - lot of chat masala added - we couldn't savor it. The papdi chat was amazing. In the non-veg platter - the chicken was very bland. Highlight was the chicken khurchan(highly recommend to try it). The worst part of the experience was the restroom. It was disgusting - overflowing latrine and the floor was all wet. It was FOUL. Very disappointed with customer service . The lady at the front was so rude and impatient. Once i tried to place the order over the phone she literally made excuses about the dishes availability every other thing that i was asking for and those things were available in the menu. We used to drive 40 mins every monday just to eat here because of the previous customer service but now the whole situation is worst .This kind of ignorance and behavior with customers is totally unacceptable. Indian Hotspot is an amazing place for North Indian food. We just went there for dinner tonight with friends and truly enjoyed the experience. We opted for the buffet and would like to share that the variety of both vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes were amazing. After a long time, we found a great restaurant that served great North Indian cuisine. The appetizers were very good, the channa masala was what we get in Northern India, chicken options were great, and the dessert had great gulab jammuns and Bengali sweet. The staff were very friendly and made sure that everyone was taken care of. They freshly made the food and the staff ensured that the food kept coming out in time. BELIEVE THE REVIEWS! My review is ONLY about the dinner buffet. For all I know, the menu-ordered meals are awesome. In any event, the reviews say it all. The buffet, for lack of any other words, is expensive and poor. Why didn't I listen to the reviews? Because I love a good Indian buffet. Heck, I love a middling Indian buffet. The one we used to go to in this area closed for good during the pandemic. I don't want to stuff myself at lunch. I want to stuff myself at dinner and this was the only place I could find semi-locally that offers an Indian buffet for dinner. On the good side, the owner was very nice and engaged us in pleasant conversation. Told us how they had something like 40-45 items on the buffet. I would have settled for 8-10 decent items. The website says that the buffet starts at 6:30 PM on Friday. My wife called and it said the buffet started at 5:30? What's the disconnect? Well, somewhere around 5:30 to 6, it seems, they start setting up AND REHEATING the buffet items under sterno lamps. I asked to look at the buffet at around 6:15 when we got there and everything was covered as it was being REHEATED and I did not want to lift the covers on 40 items. So, we just went ahead and paid what seemed like a lot of money, but well worth it for a GOOD buffet. When I took my first portions, everything was lukewarm. I hate lukewarm food. This, of course, would not have been a problem had any of the food actually come out of the kitchen fresh. When I go to a buffet, I try to take small dollops of most everything that looks appealing. I would say that half or less of the items looked appealing to me. Upon eating those items, I figure out which ones I like and get seconds. I wanted very few seconds. And, by the time I got around seconds, even the better stuff, when judged with a bit more discretion, actually tasted good to me. I decided after two trips that I was done. Half because I was full, and half because there was simply nothing else I wanted to eat that was on that buffet. However, my wife, who eats slower than me, went back for seconds after I had finished. That must have been almost 7 PM. And, guess what? She told me that food was still not hot, even though, by then, they had uncovered all the trays. It might really help if something, just a few things, had been cooked fresh. Maybe something was, but it certainly alluded me. Oh, and while the buffet is extensive, including mango lassi, it did not have kheer, which is really nice to have to deliciously cleanse the palate after an Indian meal. Worst food I ever had. I came here because of an Instagram reel that said this is the best Indian buffet in the Bay. Turns out it's fake ! The food has no taste at all! Your taste buds will be clueless, I wish I had words to describe how tasteless this food is. Please don't even try this to try, you will regret the decision. Went here on a Thursday night after seeings ads for their buffet which is only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The place is beautiful and well lit, lots of potential. The food was ok, not the worst or best I've had, wish it was more authentic Punjabi. The first thing to turn me off was that egg smell on the glass of water, the next was the cucumber mint yogurt was sweet, not a typical flavor, likely because it had grated carrot? I was expecting a mast o khyar or flavor similar to tzatziki. Also the lady who took out order sat us right next to the only other family there which was a little weird given there is so much space, she was nice and polite, however, she never came back to ask us how the food was or if we needed anything, we had to call her over for everything we needed. A sumptuous Indian buffet nonpareil I position myself at the end of a long line in the lunch buffet. In a resolute inner voice, I promise to devour every single vegetarian dish. Still, the excessive amount of time aunty jis spend in front of every dispenser of tasty delights is beyond my comprehension. Instead of thumbing on my phone, I play the culinary version of fantasy football in my head and scan the buffet inquisitively to gather information for expediency at my turn. There are almost as many people in their seats as in the buffet line, and I wonder where everyone filling their plate will deposit their butt, yet I don't see anyone eating standing up. The line is long, and the taste buds yearning to be doused with pani pooris must wait. The slow-moving, meandering train of humanity, along with my body, now committedly chained with it, passes through vistas of tawa fry on the left and disproportionately large paneer tikka on the right. As the junta halts temporarily at each savory station, some hesitate about whether mouth-watering Hakka noodles should be loaded now or later. Others ponder about slathering their chaat with fresh-smelling green chutney or red or not using any altogether. The unabashed grab too many extra pieces of freshly buttered hot, steamy, and soft naan lest they miss their chances for the seconds for reasons beyond their control. After all, it is a bustling place today and one should get it while the going is good. All these independent decisions cause the line to move at an unpredictable speed. I become less sure when my stomach will receive sustenance as I have just picked up a plate and tried to finagle a spoon from the table under the elbow space of the tall man ahead of me. The cutlery is solid, and the spoons are big. The forks are shiny, but there is no knife. I will be ok, I tell myself, but then realize my idiocy as I don't need a knife with Indian food. As the line trudges along, I pick up a paper cup and fill it with thick yellow, sweet, and sour mango Lassi. I am tempted to take a swig of it, but my sense of propriety takes over. Finally, I, too, make it to the round chafing dishes filled up to the brim with creamy mutter paneer, pindy choke flecked with protruding horizontally cut thin red onion slices, a mountain of fragile fried Papads, with holes acquired during the rolling of the dough with Kali mirch, a round dish with assorted deep fried pakoras cutlets and samosas. I do what I can to stay true to my goal and gently pour almost everything into my plate. Still, there are just too many items, the plate has finite space, and I have only two hands, which are getting tired by the weight of the food and the awkwardness of carrying the Lassi cup, which is leaning like the tower of Pisa under the plate. The plate is dangerously lurching in all unpredictable directions and on all axes. There isn't much time to decide, lest it alight and shatter on the floor; besides, those sweet, dark, syrupy Gulab Jamun and the granular, sticky yellow Moong Daal halwa must be accounted for, and that too in small separate katoris. The circumstances have defeated me, and I have no option but to return to the buffer later. Everything I eat tastes different from everything else on my plate; all taste nonpareil on their own. I find a long cinnamon stick in daal makhani, then cardamom in pulao. There are no common base palates like I experienced in the dishes at other Indian restaurants. I know now with greater certainty that the dishes have been prepared without shortcuts. The owner walks around, asking guests how everything is. This is a welcome change from other Indian restaurants, where they rarely ask me about my experience. Encouraged, I try some more of the same and a few other untried dishes. The buffet has so many items, and there is no way I can enjoy them all, but there is always next weekend. For now, I regret becoming full before tasting them all. read more

We had dinner buffet last sat. Normally, when you go buffet, all foods should be ready during business hours. But this place, all buffet foods were not ready for until 7pm and food options were very limited compared to other Indian restaurants. Also, lids of food containers I did not have a place to put; I had to hold a lid while I took some foods from containers. That part was very annoying. We also waited for 40 mins for garlic naan. In the true spirit of Indian culture, it is tastefully decorated in beautiful bright colors that lend to its welcoming atmosphere. When I mentioned to our friendly server that I am vegan, he spoke to the chef who then graciously came to our table to discuss the vegan options with me. His amiable disposition and willingness to accommodate my dietary restrictions had already convinced me to return. No one at the front desk would come over and attend to you even when they can see a customer is waiting for a food pickup. We are looking at a customer who is paying $160 + Where is customer service? This is not a one time event this has happened several times so I thought one review is a must for those of us who like to eat good food and willing to pay premium price. A must see note for the owner/ manager - customers pay premium price for customer service as well since it's not DMV right. Also please consider adding more staff .. it feels tacky when you have excellent food, nice ambience but understaffed.
