buffet: $19 M-F, $25 wknd | Goat Curry (fav), Tandoori & Butter Chix (noms sauce), Saag Paneer, Pakora, Naan, Cucumber, Barfi, Kheer, & Chai

    * foodie DEETS here * - review #201 I was initially brought here after fam came for a work lunch, but no buffet on Sats back then. We tried the Union City locay later, but that was much smaller & OG. Thereafter, we came back a couple of times to enjoy this spread. T L ; D R . . . AYCE lunch buffet, 11:30a-2:30p: $19 M-F & $25 wknds (since 4/2025) w/ more items incl pani puri, chaat, & lassi. Good variety of flavorful dishes, but minimal table service. Kept having to shoo flies away throughout my 1st meal, but not by the time I just returned 4.5 mos later. V I B E S . . . After passing their bakery next door, enter into this decent sized resto divided by long banquettes, accompanied by wooden tables & padded chairs. Host/cashier & bar on the left side w/ the buffet along the back wall. N O M S . . . Tried the following: - Karahi Goat | bone-in curry is the reason I go to Indian spots!! spicy tho - Butter Chix | alwaz my fav sauce anywhere - Tandoori Chix | dry - Fish Pakora | crispy df filets, fam's go-to. Mixed Veg avail. - several Veg dishes - Saag Paneer | sautéed spinach not alwaz avail, unfortunately - 3 kinds of Biryani Rice: plain, egg (best), veg (eh) - Cucumbers | old, soggy. I eat them w/ mint cilantro chutney. - Naan | bread basket fresh to table - no soup - Choc Barfi/Burfi | condensed milk squares. too bad they only put out 1 lil tray & wouldn't refill during my 1st visit. - Besan(?) & White Pistachio Barfi | Indian fudge squares, but not creamy. Rather, grainy. Still enjoyable tho some white ones were old. - Kheer | rice pudding, mid w/ lots of soft grains & seemingly less juice here D R I N K S . . . - Chai Tea | milky noms helps calm the spice & gives caffeine kick S E R V I C E , e t c . . . Chubby man is the most friendly. Others not too approachable esp the younger female who was a freakin "mute" hating her job. (Think she had long hair). We tried asked her for things 2-3x. She straight up says nothing in return & just walks away! Rude & unprofessional af. The last time, she eventually returned w/ a brief answer. Weird not to have a place to write a tip on the cc receipt. Guess they don't want any. Prob y they're the way they r. - Return? Def for my goat fix & the price - Restroom sitch (helps gauge resto's cleanliness): decent. 2 enclosed toilet rooms w/in the ladies' to blow up, which most newbs do when Indian curry shocks ur system. IYKYK, lol. - Out the door for 2ppl: 42. - Apple Pay: Yep, who doesn't these days? P.S. If u found what I spent time on to be of help, show this (Asian) sista some love by SMASHing a reaction & FOLLOWing me if u don't already!! ;-P Thx in advance & may there be more noms in our futures...

I went in hoping for a buffet and got exactly that! Great options for vegetarians and each dish I had was delicious. Had the butter chicken, paneer dish, tandoori chicken, chai, mango lassi, naan, and goat dish. Will be coming back when I'm in the east Bay Area. Service was quick when we needed naan and when we needed to be seated when we arrived. Besides that, it was ayce buffet. Beware of the hours but we came in 1 hr before close as all the items were still out and we were able to dine in. The place wasn't too crowded and the ambiance was great. I definitely recommend the place and will be returning!

Food was good and music was good too. Only drawback was they forgot to bring our vegetable biryani from the order we placed and bought it after 2-3 times reminder, so we had to pack it and take it home.

Wide variety of delicious foods. The hostess and server were very nice, accommodating, and expedient. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with lovely light fixtures and all of the buffet chafers are copper and gold adding to the regal splendor of the atmosphere. I absolutely loved it!

Spacious bright space and friendly server Good spot to stop after our Costco run 2 veggie entrees + naan was more than we needed for lunch. Decent renditions A tad spicy for this no- spice girl but manageable

So happy to find an Indian buffet in Bay Area. Many restaurants stopped doing buffets once Covid hit. This one is located in the mall with Ulta as a main anchor. Plenty of seating and very clean inside. You are seated at a table and you can help yourself. Beyond the typical Indian rice, there are also chicken biryani and vegetable biryani. Chai tea and water are served and fresh naan bread is brought to your table. Refills of naan are given and kheer and fruits are available as desserts.

It's a good spot to try a variety of Indian food. The food itself weren't bad, really liked the butter chicken and Tabdoori fish - both had great flavors. I wish their salad bar was a bit more than just cucumber and onions. They only had one option for desserts. They do bring out fresh naan once you've been seated. Overall, decent spot - I'd definitely come back. They even have a bar there.

My go to place when I go to the Bay Area. Staff is very friendly. I went near closing time and had ordered appetizers and everything was brought out very quickly so I didn't have time to enjoy my pakore. But, I really love this place and recommend you all to try it.

The restaurant has two sides: the dining area and a full-bar area. It's very clean and nicely decorated. The tables are spaced well, probably to give room for the robots. The menu is authentic Indian from a region that I am not familiar with. They had mutton, goat and fish options. I didn't see the usual Indian fare so I was in unfamiliar territory and at a loss as to what to order. Thank goodness for Mohan. He was our server who is not only very polite but professional and charming. He helped up with his recommendations and warned us about spice level. Even if a dish had zero peppers, he said "It's Indian mild." Hahaha! So funny. I very much appreciated that warning. We ordered: GOBI MANCHURIAN - (1 pepper) Good appetizer especially if you want a heartier vegetable dish. Nice flavor. CHICKEN RAJHANS - (0 peppers) Very similar to Butter Chicken. Creamy tomato gravy, a little sweetness. For having zero peppers, it had a kick. Mohan said next time I can ask for it even milder. SUKHA CHICKEN - (1 pepper) Very flavorful. My husband preferred this chicken dish over the Rajhans. This was spicier for me. PALAK PANEER - (1 pepper) Big chunks of cheese and the spinach sauce was very creamy. This was delicious with their naan. They offered us 2 kinds of naan: the traditional one and another one that was rice-based. That was interesting. It was chewier. I liked it! As you can see, I didn't order anything over 1 pepper. If you like spicy, try them out because they went up to 4 peppers! I think my mouth with explode at that spice level! It was also nice that the owner or manager walked around and spoke to the customers. They gave us a complimentary dessert which was a sesame ball with peanut and some kind of spice that they give to friends during an Indian celebration (which was the night we ate here.) He was explaining this tradition to us which was quite fascinating. Would love to come back and try more dishes like the fish.

Before leaving, we had already stacked and put away our plates neatly near the trash area. As we were walking out during a busy lunch rush, one of the staff members loudly called out to me, "Madam, can you clean up your table?" in front of other customers waiting in line. It was extremely embarrassing, so I immediately went back, wiped down the table myself, and left. A few moments later, I returned to clarify what exactly was expected from customers. During that conversation, the same employee admitted that he had mistaken us for another group that had not cleaned their table. While I appreciate the clarification, the situation should never have been handled by publicly calling out and embarrassing customers at the exit. Even if a customer genuinely forgets to clean up, there are far more respectful and professional ways to address it. Unfortunately, this was not an isolated concern. On multiple visits, we have noticed that the overall customer service feels unfriendly and dismissive. Customers often seem ignored, especially those who come in for something small like coffee. The atmosphere can come across as hostile rather than welcoming. We enjoy the food, but experiences like this make it difficult to feel comfortable returning.
