Really enjoy the Indian cuisine served here. Specifically I love to go here for their weekday buffer lunches. It's reasonably priced and serves a variety of delicious Indian entrees. They also serve piping hot fresh naan bread when you ask for it. The servers are very friendly and always greet you with a warm welcoming smile. I went in hoping for a buffet and got exactly that! Great options for vegetarians and each dish I had was delicious. Had the butter chicken, paneer dish, tandoori chicken, chai, mango lassi, naan, and goat dish. Will be coming back when I'm in the east Bay Area. Service was quick when we needed naan and when we needed to be seated when we arrived. Besides that, it was ayce buffet. Beware of the hours but we came in 1 hr before close as all the items were still out and we were able to dine in. The place wasn't too crowded and the ambiance was great. Meanwhile, other restaurants are offering an incredible spread, complete with live dosa, fresh all veggies salads, fruit platters, and chaat. I've experience this on my last two visits in 7 days. One was during an event and the other during a Diwali sweets Buffet. Perhaps dine-in is not the best options. Went to dine in recently and the staff were not friendly at all. No warmth no welcome no nothing. They looked like they hated working there. Ordered 2 orders lamb Punjabi and asked to swap the lamb for chicken for both orders (I've notice the lamb is too fatty and has bones and it's quite ahem pungent) . They messed up on one order but thankfully they were able to remove the messed up lamb Punjabi from our bill. It was a bit difficult conversing with some of the employees as we reiterated over and over that we want both without lamb. I understand that cultural barriers exist, but still. Employees were cold and stared at us weirdly - no apology for getting the order wrong. Felt like a hostile environment. I wanted to get out asap! Chicken Punjabi was still very oily. Happy New Year to you. I started my 2026 food journey today, trying a all-you-can-eat buffet right here in San Ramon. For a long time, the space sat empty after the Uncle Yu's kitchen fire. I didn't realize yesterday was Kabila's 5th anniversary. I havent had Indian cusine since 2020, and sadly many local restaurants closed soon after that. I joined a friend for lunch, but now I wished I didnt have an empty stomach or I would have ate more. We arrived a bit early so I had a few minutes to browse their confections counter. I was amazed and overwhelmed at the sweets especially the variety of Barfi. I will have to return to satisfy my sweettooth. The buffet was great. It was spacious, very elegant with a wide variety of about 25-items. I started with just some fresh condiments of fresh cucumber, tomatoes, onions and a white dressing like Tzatziki but I think this one is called Raita. I also tried the fried Pakora. My large plate always includes Basmati rice, but I also tried the Chicken and Veggie Biryani. Main dish items were Tandoori Chicken, Butter Chicken, Goat Curry, and Kadai Chicken. A gentleman brought a basket of Naan Bread. I finished my lunch with a piece of Besan Barfi and tea. Everything was great and after two plates, I was quite full so I didn't try any of the vegetarian dishes. Looks like I will have to do a return in the near future. Want to join me? read more

We ordered two appetizers; we got one. 20 minutes later, when we inquired about the 2nd one they said "It would be 5 minutes as they wanted to make it fresh". Versus not fresh? So happy to find an Indian buffet in Bay Area. Many restaurants stopped doing buffets once Covid hit. This one is located in the mall with Ulta as a main anchor. Plenty of seating and very clean inside. You are seated at a table and you can help yourself. Beyond the typical Indian rice, there are also chicken biryani and vegetable biryani. Chai tea and water are served and fresh naan bread is brought to your table. Refills of naan are given and kheer and fruits are available as desserts. read more

It's a good spot to try a variety of Indian food. The food itself weren't bad, really liked the butter chicken and Tabdoori fish - both had great flavors. I wish their salad bar was a bit more than just cucumber and onions. They only had one option for desserts. They do bring out fresh naan once you've been seated. Was looking for a buffet in the area and found this place. Service was great. Was seated immediately with water and warm naan brought out. Plates were cleared promptly and water refilled. Buffet selection was good. Small salad section but that was not why I was there. Tandoori chicken was yum with some dark char areas the way I like it. There were several curries like chicken and veggie which were good but the goat curry had the most flavor! Price was about $20 which is about right for the area. Honestly the food here was sub par. Seeing all these 5 star reviews, I'm convinced people don't have a palate and don't know what good food actually is. The food was extremely bland. We got the butter chicken, garlic naan and tandoori chicken. All were bland. Chicken curry wasn't hot when it came out, garlic naan was plain and the tandoori chicken was decent, but overall all lacked flavor. The service was non existent. Never checked on us, didn't refill our water, and the waitress seemed like she hated her life. The utensils all had food residue, as did the plates. Lastly it seemed tho as if they cater to individuals with the same ethnic background. I noticed this when there were guests that's clearly came after us and got served before us. If you live nearby and haven't tried Kabila yet, go. Seriously. It's not fancy. You walk up to the counter, order, wait. There's usually one or two families eating inside, but not many. I've lived here a long time, and I almost never see white people there. Which is wild--because the food? It's incredible. Everything they make is so good. I get the malai kofta because I have to--I'm basically addicted to it. But I always make myself order something else too, and whatever it is, it just hits the spot. I've literally woken up wanting to eat it for breakfast. The dal is warm, comforting, and layered with flavor--like someone's grandma simmered it for hours... but then I'm just standing there like, 'Dal Tadka or Dal Makhani?'--because I can never decide, they're both so damn good. The samosas are packed with heat and flavor in all the right ways. It's the kind of food I crave when I'm hungry and want something real. And the people? They don't small talk. There's a communication barrier, yeah. But there's this one young woman who works there--probably around 20--who laughs at my weird jokes, picks up on my energy, and always makes me feel welcome. ***I hope someone's telling her how special she is!!!*** The guys mostly look at me like I'm a glitch in the simulation. The recent visit was less than an enjoyable lunch for our family. We came in and was offered to be seated at a table that has not even cleaned from previous guests. We got up and seat ourselves to another section. Our water glass was a mere 6oz that we had to asked the waitstaff on multiple times to refill our water. There are larger glasses we saw that other guest. FYI - the lunch buffet no longer offers goat curry :(()- I was super sad about it. Dishonest Billing - Watch Your Credit Card! AVOID this place I dined at this restaurant and was charged $62.xx (including tax) for my meal. I left a 15% tip and the credit card payment was authorized successfully at that amount. However, when I received my credit card statement, I was shocked to see the restaurant had charged me $133.xx -- more than double the original amount! I immediately called the restaurant to clarify the charge. The manager casually blamed it on a "new employee" making a mistake. There was no apology, just a ridiculous offer of store credit -- as if I'd ever go back! They were just brushing me off and taking no responsibility. After back-and-forth, the restaurant finally agreed to refund the overcharge. However, more than 24 hours later, there's still no refund back to my credit card. When I followed up again, I was told there was a "system issue" preventing them from processing the refund -- what a lie lie lie !!! At this point, I had no choice but to dispute the charge with my credit card company. This was not an honest mistake -- it reflects a deceitful practice. The staff appears to take advantage of customers who don't closely check their statements, while management unethically protects this behavior instead of taking responsibility and addressing it properly. WARNING: Always double-check your receipt and your credit card statement if you choose to eat here. Better yet, AVOID this place entirely. A business that handles customer money this carelessly -- and unethically -- does not deserve your trust. read more

I was disappointed this time with Kabila. We especifícale ordered our butter chicken non spicy because it was for the kids but they still made it mild, making it impossible for the kids to eat it. I understand that Indian food is generally spicy but we have had Indian restaurants that do prepare some dishes non spicy. Not sure if Mild is the lowest level of spice but they could've let us know and I would've order something else for the kids. Also the chicken tikka masala was a bit disappointing. Lunch buffet!! I researched around the area and this seems to be the only one left. I was so excited to check it out but I think they only offer on weekdays at $19. I was also as happy to find that they offer chai tea!! Although disappointing to find that the tea tastes watered down a bit. Also comes with a good portion of hot plain naan. Their buffet offering is wide ranged from tandoori chicken to samosas to goat curry. There is a good number of options as well which is amazing. They have two desserts, one looks almost like a caramel bar and the other is kheer. It is awesome that their service is great! They walk around pretty frequently to refill waters and take your plates. Nice ambiance, feels higher end with the large wooden tables and round back chairs. The space is very clean. The bathrooms need work, though. I was here on the earlier side for lunch and one of the bathroom stalls did not have toilet paper and the other just had a roll sitting on top of the roll holder. I came here for a weekday lunch buffet. The price for it is reasonable - not too cheap or overly expensive. I do miss Favorite Indian Buffet though if that's the correct name (they're no longer opened). So I came here to check out their lunch buffet. It has a very nice interior, it has a more modern feel to it. The stations for the food is also very nice, I think there's actually heaters underneath it like induction stoves, maybe? So the food is warm. I felt like there was a decent amount of options and lots of great food. I do wish they had some mango dessert or ice cream. I enjoyed the tandoor chicken but most of the dishes are great flavor. I do have to say no one refilled our water which I wish they did, so service may be lacking? But plenty of food to fill our hungry bellies! This is next to the Baskin Robbins, and the parking was easy since it was in a complex. read more

Good spot for India food in San Ramon! My party of 5 came for a late lunch around 2 pm on Saturday. They don't offer a lunch buffet over the weekend; it's offered on weekdays only. The space is decently big and decor is modern. You feel like you're eating at a nice restaurant. The 5 of us shared a couple of appetizers and curries. We started out with the cauliflower manchurian ($10) and the samosa chaat ($11). Both were flavorful without being too spicy. We then shared veg three curries: shahi paneer ($14), kadai paneer ($14), and dal tadka ($13). Of the three, the dal and the shahi paneer were my favorites. The shahi paneer had a sweeter flavor than the kadai paneer, which was also good, but there was a lot more gravy than I'm used to in the kadai paneer. We also ordered an assortment of rice and breads (roti + naan) to eat with the curries. Please note they do close between lunch and dinner. We were there a little bit past 3 since we got there so late, and eventually they started dimming the lights and turning off the music as a hint to us to leave. read more

We are vegetarian and they had 3 curries and they were all at the bottom, when we asked them to refill, they just added pakora on like that, no mixing at all, they taste really awful. Amazing lunch buffet! Came on a Thursday around 12:45 and it was busy but we were able to get seated right away since we were only 2 people. The smell of spices and herbs when you walk in is mouth watering! As soon as you're seated you're given water to show that the table is taken, and then it's self serve afterward. We tried a little bit of everything (butter chicken, egg biryani, fish pakora, vegetable pakora, and more) and were happily satisfied, the flavor of everything is amazing and they provide unlimited refills of naan. Also love the self serve chai too, and they have little sweet treats like kheer near there.
