The food is so bad. Paneer tikka was bland. I've had better sauce from a jar. Korma also bad. Would never order from here again.

Well every now and then I crave Indian food and it's one of those moments it's actually the least favorite of the ethnic cuisines of Asia. But they are distinct that I like some of their food and I didn't know any buffets and I kept seeing this restaurant whenever I go to work in downtown Chicago. When I take the blue line and I kept seeing this restaurant when I would eat at Thai lagoon across the street. Well this was my payday and I decided to give this place a bucket list try. It is also still lent so I'm still following the Catholic not eating red meat or poultry. The waitress in regards to service since they just opened up I learned by coincidence since they were renovating mentioned that they did have seafood entrees and of course I didn't want shrimp I ate more on the fish side and they had salmon. But to start off I had the crispy onion pakora which was delicious for an appetizer It's basically almost like a deep fried onion ring with a fresh spinach colored emerald green dip that compliments and it was not too greasy. Then came My main dish of the salmon tikka masala and garlic naan. I would have ordered this in beef or lamb for tikka masala but since it's lent for me I have to eat fish It was okay but it would have been better if this was lamb if I could imagine chewing and savoring The pasty almost tomato like sauce with its spices and tanginess but it also tasted good to it salmon but lamb would have been better. The naan was ok I think a bit too garlicky but I would probably order the butter one next time cuz this was a garlic naan. They're mango lassi was very fresh however one of the reasons for the four stars although they gave me one on the house because they had a very limited dessert menu with ice cream and that's not really traditional Indian. But going back with the lasee the portion was just too small for $5. I would come back again other than that they gave the second last seat on the house and I didn't get charged but I would suggest they add a bigger mango lassee I had mentioned to the waitress or server. Ambiance was a little modern like I said they just opened after 3 weeks of being closed otherwise I came by coincidence that they just opened since the renovation.

On my recent first visit to Indian Paradise, I liked it. My family and I met some friends here for a Sunday afternoon lunch. Reservations are accepted, so we made one just in case if they were busy for a walk-in visit. The restaurant is located on North Ave., in a busy area and available parking is on the streets (I am not familiar with any parking garage or lots in the vicinity). The restaurant was clean, nicely decorated, and the ambiance was good. It's a no-frills or gimmicks, family-friendly restaurant. Their menu has a nice variety of options to choose from and for a Chicago-based restaurant, their pricing is relatively reasonable. We ordered some appetizers along with our entrées. We got Chili Chicken and Chicken Tikka to start and Butter Paneer Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh, Garlic Naan, Spicy Naan, and Tandoor Roti as our entrées. There was one big group dining in besides us. The staff was busy bringing out their dishes. Our food took a bit longer than expected to arrive but it wasn't a bad wait time or anything. The food was freshly prepared. I went for the Chili Chicken as that's what I had ordered as my appetizer. It was spicy and flavorful albeit a bit salty as well. There was a Raita (liquid yogurt dipping sauce) to go with the chili chicken that was helpful for those who didn't like the heat of the dish. It was a decent dish. The Chicken Tikka app dish was just so-so at best. It too was a bit salty. It had a green chutney with it which was pretty good. My favorite dish was the Lamb Rogan Josh. This curry dish was quite flavorful. It had a nice dark color, and was spicy. The Lamb pieces were tender. The Butter Paneer Masala was decent. The Naan and the Tandoori Roti were thin and crisp. There was complimentary basmati rice provided as well. The portion size of all the food was good. We received good service. The staff members were friendly and helpful. We had a good experience here, overall. Check them out.

This pick was a winner! I got lamb korma. Tender chunks of lamb in a rich and creamy sauce with a mild kick. The garlic naan came in handy to sop up the sauce. I ate it all. Donna had kadai chicken. "It was yummy." Such a wordsmith. Just strong, rich flavors with more spice than mine. Service was friendly and attentive. Maybe a 15 minute walk from our new home. We will be back!

So, I really wanted to like this place. It's hella cute! I loved the onion pakora, BUT it was hair in my food. I was pretty blown after that. Can't really say how the chicken tikka masala tasted after that. The naan was cool though. Zoom into the pics. SMH. So annoying. Glad I don't I live in Chicago.

Finally tried Indian Paradise! Craving some Biriyani we ordered the lamb biriyani, gobi Manchurian, and palak paneer for takeout. Everything was packed well, was a good portion, and they were quick to make our order. Now for the food, The Gobi Manchurian was delicious and was our favorite item! The lamb biriyani was solid and definitely curbed my craving. However, I didn't care for the texture of the yogurt (was gooey). The palak paneer was ok in my opinion, I think I just prefer my palak paneer on the creamier side. That being said I'll definitely be back to try the other curries! My partner picked up the food so I can't comment on the ambiance, so I will have to follow up on my review once I dine in!

Food and service was great. Authentic service, food and ambience. lamb madras surprised me w its depth of flavor and tenderness. Love the paneer, shoutout chicken spinach korma (secret weapon) get the naan. Duh

I ordered the Garlic Naan, basmati rice, and Lamb Curry. The garlic Naan was definitely the best Naan I have ever had. The Lamb Curry was delicious and spicy Our waitress was very soft spoken and so we had trouble hearing her. Pretty casual environment with authentic Indian food. They don't serve alcohol here, but apparently it is byob. Will definitely bring a bottle of wine next time!

I'm feeling hungry just looking back at the photos of the food here at Indian Paradise. Everything was well-portioned, especially the lamb biryani. Here's what we ordered: Chicken Tikka Masala: So good and buttery. I have to come back for this! Palak Paneer: Very flavorful, and I love the generous amount of cottage cheese in there. Every bite tasted amazing. Garlic Naan: Mandatory to pair with the main dishes, no complaints. Lamb Biryani: HUGE. We definitely overordered as it was way too much food for 2 people. Loved this too. Crispy Onion Pakora: On the house! I've never tried this dish, and it was a pleasant surprise from the owners. Loved how crispy and airy this was--definitely a great appetizer. Most definitely will come back for the great food, generous portions, and personable owners!

A great experience. The waiter was very kind and accommodating. The appetizer was fresh and flavorful. The curry was so good as well. They have a good variety of South indian dishes, which is very noteworthy. Large portion sizes and a welcoming ambiance in the wicker park neighborhood. Highly recommend this place

We chose to dine at Girl & the Goat in Chicago, a restaurant we had never visited before. The acclaimed restaurant by renowned chef Stephanie Izard truly lived up to its stellar reputation! One of the first things we appreciated was the convenience of the restaurant's valet parking, located right by the front patio. At $22 for up to four hours and $26 for four to eight hours, the rates were quite reasonable for the area. As soon as the three of us stepped inside Girl & the Goat (we had made a reservation for 6:30 pm on a Friday), we were warmly greeted by one of the two friendly hostesses, and were promptly led to a comfortable four-top table with a banquette and two chairs along the wall. We felt fortunate to have one of the better tables in the dining room, as some of the others were positioned very close together. The nearby two-top tables, in particular, were quite small and placed only a short distance from ours. The restaurant's rustic-industrial décor was dark but trendy and stylish, the lively and vibrant vibe was warm and welcoming. However, I have to mention that it was really loud in the dining room, as guests seemed to be enjoying themselves and talked loudly.  It was hard to hear our server and the staff who delivered and explained the dishes to us.  Our server, Yazmin, was extremely friendly and attentive.  It was very sweet of her to wish us a happy anniversary both in the beginning  and at the end of the meal.  She also checked in on us several times during the evening.  Now, on to the food and drinks. I started with a glass of the NA Sparkling Rosé ($17), which was light, crisp, and quite refreshing. My husband ordered a glass of Le Colture Prosecco ($18), while our daughter chose the Sun Kid ($18). She enjoyed her drink, although she felt the portion was a bit small, as the glass was filled with a lot of ice that took up much of the space. Since the restaurant offers small to medium plates which are shareable, Yazmin advised us to get 5 to 6 dishes for 3 people to share.  We decided to get 5 savory dishes and 3 desserts to share: Savory dishes: - Chickpea Fritters ($20), goat yogurt, green chutney, sev spice crunch, pickled rhubarb. - Pan Roasted Halibut ($37), miso-Marcona almond butter, spring onion blueberry nuoc cham. - Roasted Pig Face ($28), sunny side egg, tamarind, cilantro, red wine-maple, potato stix. - Goat Empanadas ($24), smoked tomato-corn salsa, roasted poblano crema queso fresco. - Confit Goat Belly ($38), strawberry goat braise, smoked yogurt drizzle, pickled strawberries. Desserts: - Vacation, Please! ($16), toasted coconut crunch, lemon passion fruit sorbet, rum-soaked pineapple cake. - Berry Yummy Par-tea ($16), earl grey soaked sponge cake, yuzu curd, spiced blackberries. - Chocolate Basil Brownie Bash ($16), olive oil semifreddo, chocolate fennel crunch, basil granita. The meal was just phenomenal!  All the savory dishes were cooked perfectly with bold flavors; the meats were tender and full of flavors.  There were dishes that we normally would not have ordered if we saw them on menus of other restaurants.  Here, we tried them and were delighted that we did!  Our consensus is that Roasted Pig Face is our most favorite! It is everything we love in a comfort dish -- crispy on the outside, meltingly tender inside, and packed with rich, balanced flavor.  We will definitely order this again!  The Confit Goat Belly is a close second, with buttery, fall-apart meat and just the right balance of richness, acidity, and crunch. For dessert, "Vacation, Please!" is the one that we will always come back for. The toasted coconut crunch adds texture, the lemon passion fruit sorbet brings a refreshing tang, and the rum-soaked pineapple cake ties it all together with just the right amount of sweetness.  The other two desserts that we ordered were also very good.  The staff even brought out a scoop of Chocolate Ice Cream on the house, with two lit candles to celebrate our anniversary - a thoughtful touch that made the evening even more memorable.  This dessert spread was the perfect ending to an incredible meal. I'd like to mention that the restaurant added a 4% surcharge to the bill, which the customer may request to have the surcharge remove if you choose.  We let them keep it. We spent about two hours at the restaurant. The savory dishes came out very quickly, the pace probably was even a tad too fast, but the desserts made up for it by taking a longer time.  We did not mind as we were still full, and had time to enjoy the ambiance more.  I would say it is a restaurant great for group gathering and celebratory functions, but not so much for intimate romantic date night.  All in all, it was a wonderful dinner, we look forward to returning again.

I was there the other week (I've been here at least five times before), and a busser--not our…read morewaiter--started clearing both of our plates before we were finished eating. We each only had a couple of bites left, but it definitely gave off an "okay, you're done now" vibe. Then he went to take the green beans (arguably the cult classic on the menu), and we still had more than half of them left. I had to stop him and say, "Yeah, we're not done with those. We paid for them. Can you put them in a to-go box instead?" For context, it was about 20 minutes before closing, but we ordered with plenty of time and were already eating with a "get in, eat, and get out" mindset. I've just never had someone at a restaurant start clearing plates while we were still actively eating--without asking, "Are you finished?" "Can I clear this?" or "Would you like a to-go box?" It was just... "You're done, these are leaving now." We were there for less than 45 minutes, left about 15 minutes before closing, and spent over $200 (not including the tip). With so many options in Chicago, I don't see myself coming back here.

Mezza [Combo platter including Baba Ghanoush, Hummus, Ta'ameya(falafel), Tabboula(salad): Our favorite was the Banana Ghanoush, as it was one of the most flavorful baba ghanoush I have had and contained a very good char. The hummus was a little more on the sour side, and the texture of the salad was refreshing. The bread was also made fresh and was refillable as well, which we appreciated. My friend liked the falafel, but I think it was a little too dry, and I wish they could increase the intensity of the spices to make it pop out more. The chili sauce helped a lot though. Cairo Platter (Kofta, Chicken, Beef): The Kofta is my favorite-seasoned, soft and tender. Out of the two times I got this, the chicken and the beef were not as moist/juicy-they were okay. Overall I wish they gave us more Kofta though, since there wasn't much of it, and the platter was on the pricier side. Shawarma Plate: The shawarma was tasty and the portions were good. I personally liked adding the chili sauce on top. Macorrona Bechamel: Our favorite dish. It tasted like Mac and cheese but the flavors are even more nuanced and complex. Very delicious and honestly we wished we ordered one per person . Overall I really like the restaurant, and I think some of the dishes were really well made, you just need to find them :). I hope the quality is more consistent as we will visit again.
