What a Turnaround! Indian Summer Grill is Back and Better Than Ever! I had left a 2-star review in the past due to some disappointing experiences with previous owners, but I'm thrilled to say that Indian Summer Grill is now under new ownership--and the difference is night and day! The new owners are incredibly kind, attentive, and truly go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The food has also gotten a serious upgrade. Everything ordered was bursting with flavor, fresh, and clearly made with care. You can tell there's pride in what they're serving now, and it shows in every bite. If you had a less-than-great experience in the past, like I did, give them another shot--you won't regret it. Major props to the new owners at Indian Summer Grill. You've completely turned this place around!

First time trying Indian food so I was recommended to play it safe and get butter chicken or the chicken tikka masala which are very popular. When I got there my first option was the butter chicken but unfortunately they ran out so I went with the tikka masala. The serving was so big lots of chicken lots of sauce and lots of rice all very flavorful and creamy it was a good experience for my first time trying Indian food so now Im excited to expand into more options. O and that garlic naan is made fresh right there and it is just so soft and hot and garlicky which I loved

1 protein 1 side combo plate: Chicken and Saag Paneer. Medium spicy. (Not shown: naan)

I live in El Segundo and it is just an excellent place for lunch. Their naan bread is insanely good. They make everything fresh as far as I can tell. They're always very nice and grateful. Some recent improvements to the interior. Highly recommend for your next Indian food craving.

Exceptional service & food. Owners are kind but when you ask for spicy, they definitely know what they're talking about. Also with every a la carte entrée you order, you get free, naan bread, rice and a drink. 10/10 with flying colors. Don't sleep on their Mango Lassi!

Tried for the first time recently, the service was great and staff was friendly howeverrr the food itself was actually pretty terrible. It was actually inedible im never one to complain but it was just money thrown in the trash .

Chicken tikka masala bowl - lots of rice, lots of chicken, lots of chunks of spices to unpleasantly bite into, and practically no sauce.

I've been going there for many, many years. Even after moving away from El Segundo, I stop by this place for my favorite Indian food whenever I'm nearby. Today is the first time I've been disappointed. The place reeked of cigarette smoke, like someone was smoking in their tiny kitchen or right out back. It was nauseating. The only person I saw working was super grumpy and barely said a word to me. The food tasted good. It always does. But one of the great things about chicken tikka masala is that rich delicious sauce that you dip your naan into and my bowl had very little. Not enough to dip a corner of the bread! The chicken portion was generous but also very, very dry. So the dish was begging for more sauce. Also, I kept crunching on big hunks of spice like star anise or cloves - it's a pretty potent and unpleasant thing to bite into. Next time I'm in the area, I'm not sure Indian Summer will be one of my stops. They seem to be going downhill... certainly very far from the days of tablecloths and outstanding service when they were on the other side of town.

Solid spot for good Indian food! Takeout only, no frills type of place but it's great. Good food and super friendly staff and clean! Great Veg Samosas and the Tamarind Sauce was excellent. Chicken Combo plate is real good. Masala has nice layers of flavor that run deep! Chicken could have been more tender but it was good. The Grilled Veggies were awesome....nice and fresh and slightly crisp and seasoned perfectly. Lots of Rice! Had a bite of the Veg Masala and that was great too...real good smoke flavor! This place is on its way to a 5.Star rating....

6/26/23. Good portion + flavor. Tikka, saag, rice, naan. Express lunch post run. Day after ZNP trip with sweet fh. $12.

Holy crap, Batman. I just discovered a hidden gem. $12.00. Express lunch. Tikka, saag (the real star of the meal), naan. Best post run meal ever. No nonsense. Order. Be respectful and wait patiently as you watch the chef freshly bake your naan. Samosas also freshly cooked and will take 20 min. You're welcome, enjoy. I'll be back. Come support!

Love Indian Summer! They are so nice and friendly here. Everything I've ordered is delicious. Confused why their rating isn't higher so don't trust the older reviews. I've been eating here a couple of times a month since 2019 and the quality has been consistently good. Small spot with one high top table and a counter if you need to eat immediately, otherwise take it to go. Don't sleep on this gem. This is one spot I hope doesn't stay hidden for long!

It's located in a shopping area in El Segundo called The Point. Parking: parking can be a little tricky, but it's free parking! Such an anomaly in the LA area lol. Kat was our waitress and she was phenomenal. Camine also came by and she was so hospitable. Everything that we ordered was on point! (Pun intended lol). My daughter got the cheese pizza and my son got the penne pasta. I kind of wish they had a side of vegetables or fruit, but thankfully, I had just given my kids some fruit before, so avoided the mom guilt lol. The edamame dumplings is an absolute must! It's an umami flavored dish! We also got the eggplant dish, and it was really good! If you've been to elephante in Santa Monica, it kind of reminds me of that, but the eggplant is a little bit more dense, but really great flavors. You may have to order an extra eggplant dip, because the ratio isn't exactly favorable towards the eggplant. Got the kale salad with shrimp. The shrimp was cooked to perfection! Kale was pretty good, but asked for extra cheese. My husband was all about the burger and he claimed it was one of the best burgers he's ever had! He got an IPA beer and I got a watermelon mint Mojito. It was really good, but I think I will try the skinny margarita next time. The price is actually pretty reasonable for the clean /delicious food! We are most definitely coming back!

At 6:30 on a Friday night, it was less than 25% full. That should've been the warning. We were seated right away, though the host tried to put us right next to the bathroom (even though the restaurant was mostly empty) We sat for nearly 10 minutes before someone came over (I had started timing by that point and we almost left). We ordered, and the food came in a reasonable amount of time, but it just wasn't the same. Apparently the restaurant took on new owners in 2022 (private equity) and whatever this was, it wasn't good. The turkey burger was terrible, and the chicken panini I had was overcooked and dry. Did we want dessert? No. If you used to like True Foods pre-2023, this is the same in name only. Mediocre flavorless food, mediocre service. North Italia next door was bumping--the problem is True Foods, not that people aren't going out.

In addition to street parking, there's a huge parking lot that you can't miss. I've never seen it so full that there were no spaces available. It's not a large restaurant. Don't know the capacity but it's large enough to accommodate groups but small enough that service is great and feels personal. At least it does to me - maybe because its one of my go to Thai restaurants. Attentive. Friendly. Nice. All of the above. As for the dishes - I love how they follow through and prepare mine spicy, even Thai spicy. I know a few years ago, someone came out and asked to confirm I wanted Thai spicy. Even last night, I asked for "Hot" on the spice level. I won't say it's not hot, because it's not for me, but for those who don't eat fire ... The portions are good. Flavors are delicious and I keep going back for more every so often. I can't say I have a favorite dish as I order whatever I feel like at the time. And I haven't had a bad dish because looking through my photos, I know I'd order anyone of those dishes again. Anyway, I love this place. I've never been to Thailand so I can't say personally whether it's authentic or not. Doesn't matter though because the service is great and the food is delicious. If this is as close that I ever come to Thailand, I'll die happy.
