When it comes to my cars, I am very picky and want things done right. It was always a challenge of mine to find a mechanic that I can not only trust, but does the work correctly without cutting corners. I've been to multiple mechanics over the years including dealerships. After getting work done anywhere, I would always check to see if the work was done properly. I would always have an issue with mechanics not being honest, overcharging, not torquing bolts to proper torque specs, and overlooking problems that should have been addressed. But Infinite Motion was different. The quality of work and staff at Infinite Motion was by far the best experience I have had with a mechanic. Gavin, Rob, and Barbara were so welcoming giving me a tour of the shop when I first arrived. They are such a great family and genuinely very good people that care about their customers and our cars. Gavin is also such an amazing technician. The knowledge he has about cars and especially Honda S2000's is quite impressive. He also has an Ap1 S2000 himself and knows these cars in and out. Gavin has performed multiple repairs on my S2000 over the years from replacing my retainers, clutch, subframe, and much more. Never had an issue with any of his repairs. Gavin has really helped me over the years with many diagnoses and repairs on my S2000 in person and over the phone. Like I mentioned earlier, the knowledge Gavin has about S2000's combined with his work ethic is what sets him apart from everyone else. I have had other mechanics in the past (some of them S2000 owners as well) try to diagnose a problem with my S200 but led me in a circle and not able to find what the issue was. Gavin on the other hand has always been able to pinpoint any problem I have had very quickly. The quality of his work is one of the many reasons why I keep coming back. My dad and I were able to watch Gavin work while he was replacing my retainers. My dad is a lead quality assurance inspector for Aerospace and inspects the work of employees and critical parts that go into airplanes/helicopters for Boeing, Lockheed Martin, UTAS, and Sikorsky Aircraft. After watching Gavin work, he said Gavin's work is definitely top notch and would very much recommend him and Infinite Motion. Very organized, does not cut corners, torques every bolt to proper specs, and fixes everything the right way. I am very appreciative that Gavin takes the time to thoroughly inspect things while he is working to catch anything that raises safety concerns or that needs attention. He is very honest showing pictures of your car being worked on, welcoming you into the shop to check it out, and lets you know whether it is something that needs immediate attention or can wait. He has found and fixed many different problems that was either overlooked or wasn't repaired right by other mechanics who worked on my car prior. The quality of alignments Gavin performs is incredible. Anyone can turn a wrench until the screen turns green but it is something else to be able to interpret the output and understand how one adjustment will affect another component of the car just as Gavin did with my S2000. When aligning my S2000, Gavin noticed something didn't seem right and wouldn't let the car go until it was setup right and safe. He found my subframe was bent which didn't allow for a proper alignment. He also found someone who performed my alignment prior didn't catch this and just turned the tie rod end until the screen turned green, not paying attention that it was only hanging on by a couple of threads! I'm very thankful Gavin and Infinite Motion takes the extra time to make sure everything is safe and fixed properly. It was also very nice of him to take the time to clean up my engine bay from coolant splattering everywhere from my broken radiator. The peace of mind knowing your car is safe and repaired properly after getting it back from Infinite Motion is priceless. I am so glad I found Infinite Motion! I drive about an hour just to get to Infinite Motion and it is the only place I will take my car to. read more

I brought my Honda S2000 to Gavin for a head gasket replacement originally. I've had my car worked by him before and this guy is VERY picky on what he does when he works and I mean that in a good way. I wouldn't doubt he would be the type of guy that would disassemble a bunch of parts just to get that one part inside done correctly, the guy is basically a "do it right or don't do it at all" type of mechanic. I also wouldn't doubt that all techs in this shop are held to the same standards. So basically Gavin the Mad Scientist got to rip apart the head and replace the head gasket and exhaust valves I just fried, along with some fresh OEM Honda parts. The job was on the pricey side but honestly what would you expect? I basically got a full head rebuild with a bunch of parts replacement along with Gavin cleaning the heck out of the sludged up motor (I swear I change my oil every 4k but now I know why! Thanks a lot Pennzoil!) and like I said earlier he's very picky on how he works on cars. I'd rather pay more for an outstanding reliable repair than go cheap on a hack job repair. If you're around North County San Diego or if you think you live close enough and are very picky on what you do when you work on your cars bring it to these guys! read more

I just had my car towed from Barstow to San Marcos to Rob because he has been my mechanic for almost 30 years and I absolutely trust him after all these years. That is why I continue to use him even though I live in Barstow and some times have to have my car towed from Barstow to San Marcos if she breaks. This is just the second time I have had this happen to me but when I move to Barstow, I add Premier policy to my AAA so I could be towed back to Rob for my mechanical problems to be taken care of once a year. I hope that this is the ONLY time this year I will be need him or I am going to have to find out if there is some one in Barstow who knows how to read! Keep your fingers crossed. read more

The shop is clean, Rob and his wife are always pleasant, I always feel like I can trust anything they say. The mechanics are wonderful - they treat my car well (no picking it up with grime on the steering wheel). I recommend this shop to all single women or men who know nothing about cars - you won't get ripped off here! As a new resident of San Marcos, I wasn't sure where to take my Montero when the brakes hit metal to metal...I am lucky to have found Infinite Motion. Robert was great. He explained the costs and what kind of parts they were using and why - which made me feel comfortable when shelling out the cash to get it fixed. This shop is not even close to what the reviews say. Rob and Gavin are scandalous and untrustworthy. I will not go into details about what happened, but I lost thousands because of their inexperience in their "field of expertise". Their business ethics afterwards were also questionable. Rob and Barbara are honest, knowledgeable, experienced, fair and friendly. They serviced my 2000 Honda Odyssey for years until I moved out of state. I'd used Honda dealerships for over 7 years but they missed safety issues so I took a chance on this family owned shop. I wish I'd done it much sooner! read more
