This is the best soup EVER! Never am I disappointed! They have ruined me from buying soup anywhere else. Truth. I could eat their soup every day- every meal of every day! Well, not really, but close. My favorites are Hunter's Meatball- creamy with mushrooms, tomatoes, carrots, other veggies- and wonderful meatballs. It's so rich and comforting- the ultimate comfort food. Tomato Basil Gorgonzola- YUM!!! Creamy, full fresh tomatoes, melted in Gorgonzola, and a hint of Basil. Love it! Also the Tomato Basil Dill! Curried Coconut Potato- creamy, yummy- perfect balance of Curry and Coconut! German Sausage Potato with Cheddar- enough said! Chicken Tortellini Artichoke, and they also have both Vegan and Vegetarian soups every day! 20 different soups to choose from every day- and they change daily!!!! We tried this place for the first time and were surprised, both good and less than good. First the less than good. It is only a take out establishment. No seating area and no drinks, not even water. The good was obviously their soup. We got chicken noodle-Delicious, chicken Gorgonzola tortellini- good, but not great, the Italian sausage with lentils-Killer, and the German Beef and cabbage stew-Wow! All in all we will be back. Great little place to go and get take out and their made from scratch soup is excellent! Located off Tacoma Ave. just a few blocks away from the court house I can promise you won't be disappointed... They have an amazing music selection on vinyl, and even more amazing is that they have 16 or more flavors of soup to choose from so show up hungry! What impressed me most was the flavor: my 3 cheese potato soup was loaded with flavor and seasoned to perfection as I imagine all that they offer and the price for both my wife and I to get a pint of soup each was less than $20 for both of us and the best part: we both got dinner rolls in that price to dip into our soup and that also included tip! read more

Holy cow this place is amazing ! Literally the best soups I've ever tasted. Perfect on a chilly Washington winter afternoon. This shop is tiny - there is only a counter to order your delicious soups and no place to sit, so plan on eating else where (make sure you BYOB - bring your own beverages). To eat with your soups they do sell a variety of breads and crackers. You can check their menu in advance on facebook, and they do let you sample- I assure you tho- each soup I tasted made my decision THAT much harder to make. Soups are priced very fairly at 4$-6$ depending on the size. Oh and this place is cash only. So drive to the ATM , get some cash - and then go buy some soup! You're welcome. read more

This is quite plain and simple...you MUST stop here and at least taste a cup of soup. I had two: the Hunters Meatball and Chicken Gorgonzola Tortellini. These were two of the beat soups I have ever had, ever, ever. The Hunters meatball has a Marsala flavor that is so amazing you'd add it to your last meal request if you were on death row. O! M! G! A friend of mine introduced me to this place a few years back. I have been a huge fan since. They offer a fun selection of different soups daily. I have either tried or taken home the majority of the soups they offer. My only complaint is that I wish they were closer. You can follow them on Facebook... They typically post the menu for the day and tell you about schedule changes for the next need-to-try soup off the menu! My favorite is there simple onion cream soup. It reminds me of my Polish grandmothers house. It was a refreshing taste from home. Thank you guys for everything you do! Cash only, great vibe, really nice people, and a rotating menu of elevated flavors to enthrall your palette. This is the place you tell people because you want them to experience the same surprise joy you did when you found it. I haven't missed hitting this place up for a couple of pints at least once a week for months and months. I have never tried a flavor I didn't like, and my 'go-to' flavors are the Curried Chicken Stew and Hunter's Meatball which are flavors they tend to have at least one of every day. After an unfortunate trip to the dentist today, I was craving soup to ease my tooth troubles. This place was recommended to me by a few people so I happily walked in, hoping to have some delicious soup to cure my dental blues. Instead, I was met with the rudest, most hostile and unprofessional customer service I have ever experienced. When I walked in, I was really taken aback because the lady didn't even greet me at all. She just stared me down. The lady behind the counter (who looked rather unhygienic to be serving soup a la hair all over the place & she was wearing gross house slippers) acted like I was the biggest nuisance in the world because I asked her 2 questions. My first question was: Can I try the beefy mushroom? My second question was: So these soups (left hand corner of the menu) all have meat in them? I know...my questions sound absolutely ridiculous and were SOOOOO annoying right?! SMH! She responded with an eye roll and said, "just look at the menu...HERE!" and smacked her hand on the menu on the counter. I tried 2 different soups, lest I waste any more of her valuable time and they were BOTH horrible. If you love the taste of PURE salt, then you'll love this place. Seriously, worst soup ever. Bottom line: this place has the worst customer service EVER. Avoid at all costs unless you want high blood pressure from being treated like dirt and eating the saltiest soup imaginable. I am teeter tottering between a 2 and a 3 star review.... 2 because I wouldn't go back, but 3 because we didn't have bad customer service like other Yelpers have experienced. So lets just call it 2 1/2. Yes, it is very affordable. They certainly have many varieties everyday--vegetarians and vegans can rest easy here. As others have mentioned, the soups are super salty (I tasted one meaty, one vegetarian, and one vegan). I decided on corn chowder while Syd got the spicy sausage artichoke. We took the soups to Corina Bakery as many have suggested since Infinite Soups is not a sit-down spot. When we opened up the soup lids, both soups had a thick layer of oil sitting on top, which really alarmed me. I did my best to spoon it aside and eat up. My corn chowder had a nice kick to it from the chipotle, and it was full of corny goodness, but the base was grainy instead of smooth and creamy. It reminded me of the time I made a roux incorrectly and then used it anyway....not a very pleasant texture. The spicy sausage soup had a nice heat to the broth, but it was white and watery, which I thought was an odd combination I haven't seen before. He really enjoyed it, though, and gobbled up the whole pint with oyster crackers. It's great that there is an affordable place for soup, but it's not a place I would want to return to.. I confess that I make a lot of soup at home, so I am particular about how I like my soup. Plenty of others enjoy Infinite Soups, though, including my husband, so good for them. read more

So rarely do I crave good soup enough to choose to go to a place that does it right as ooposed to warming up a can of Campbell's or Progresso in the microwave. That said, such an occassion has occurred, and when it does, Infinite Soups is there for me. I've tried several of them over the years and never been unhappy with a single one. My favorite was a simple italian wedding style soup - The sausage was so spicy I had the littlest size, fell in love, and drove back for the huge size. You guys are soooo amazing. I just had major surgery and as I was walking into the store, a man who I believe was the owner or someone very important to the shop offered to pay for my soup after we joked about my attire and let me just say you made my entire week. I'm in excruciating pain but insisted on walking into the shop because I did not want my husband to forget anything on my order and I'm so blessed that I did. I like the fact that the menu is constantly changing... This means they are shuffling ingredients, selling new soup, not left overs, and you get the chance to try new soup! They give samples, so if they are out of your preferred soup, you can still have a soup that you'll enjoy eating. The portions are decent and the food is high quality. The flavors, variations and dietary options differ so much from each other. Each soup is so unique. When I visited, it was slow with just my group and a group leaving. Very small space, I'd leave strollers outside. The workers (probably owners?) were sort of stern and seemed stressed out. This could be due to any personal affair for them. They could have just been having an off day, so I will not say they were "unfriendly", because I have only been (in) here once. Enjoy baked goods from local bakeries! There soup can be brilliantly delicious, but also extremely salty - I guess it's an almost invisible threshold... I would have given it 4 stars if not for these factors: 1. Hard to find. I walked by it three times without realizing it was there. Very small hole in the wall. But, they recently put up a giant spoon outside during business hours, which helps people find it. 2. It's cash only - which you'll forever remember after ordering and then having to embarrassingly admit "you'll be right back," so you can run to get cash. 3. The young woman that works there lacks a certain, je ne sais quoi, oh yes, I remember now... pleasantness. She looks at customers like they're the scourge of the earth, a necessary bane to keeping the business open. I am still a regular customer, though. read more

I'm a HUGE soup fan and after moving here from the east coast I was eager to try this place. I used the regular the storefront of the now famous "soup nazi" of NYC so I admit I was a bit of a snob before I went. I walked into this tiny place next to a shady looking pool hall and was floored by smells of deliciousness. The menu was diverse and everything sounded good. Here is what I feel about the soup itself.... I believe the soup has crack or some sort of addictive substance in it because no matter how much I of it I have I seem to want more. The soup is slow-cooked, flavorful and the texture is amazing. I just wish they moved to a bigger place so there could be seats so I can sit there all day and have more soup! read more

Infinite? As it is pretty close to two college campuses, i.e. University of Washington, Tacoma and University of Puget Sound, I'm sure people around here would take its name fairly seriously. The term infinite conjures the ideas that... well, that they'd have infinite choices. I can assure you they don't really have an infinite number of choices, but I'd say they sure have enough! You want a lentil soup? You want a flat noodle soup? You want something with tomato? You want garbanzo? You want tortellini? You want cheddar soup? It seems like they have a combination of everything. Maybe they need a mathematician working on combinatorics to flush out all the good pairings. But until then, let's say they have their options covered. Space: Let me address the basics of dining at this restaurant. You can't! Well, I guess not unless you want to stand up in the corner by the vinyl records and the bustling crowds while you eat your soup. It's a counter space that serves, just as a counter. Who really likes to eat while people are ordering over you. My suggestion, take the soup with you. Go to the park, your office, eat it at home, just remember it's probably best eaten in comfort and quickly, though they seem to stay relatively long for a car ride across Tacoma. . That said, the soups are fantastic. They have considerable flavor (and salt, so be mindful) and come with fresh ingredients. The mini baguettes from Corina are a good addition. Service: counter service is counter service. There's not much you can do about increasing comfort here. They are efficient and always label each item they package. The service is simple, but they are able to explain everything about their soups. But I doubt if you can alter any of the soups as they are all pre-prepared. Yet, again, why would you when they do have a large number of these freshly prepared soups. If it's another cold day in Tacoma (snowing even) I know just where I'm coming for my soup. This was the first time we tried infinite soup downtown. This is not a restaurant it's a walk-up. I purchased a Groupon with a value of 40.00 so we got four different soups.Southern bacon corn chowder,Homestyle chicken noodle, tomato artichoke, and Three cheese potato. All were very good I would say my favorite was the chowder it had a little heat to it and I like that. There were a couple of soups sold out so you must have to get here early to get a complete selection. If you want to try is place and are unsure a great bargain is Groupon again we did and we are going back. read more

I am disappointed when I go in, hoping for the Indian Curry and it's sold out--try it, if you see it there, but only if I've already been in. I am never disappointed with whatever I have to substitute. Couple your cup o' soup with a baguette from Corina's, and you've created heaven (I do not recommend the rolls. They are yucky. Stick with the delicious, fresh baked baguette that is likely still warm). Service. Listen, you are not going to get chipper, fakey, barista-style service here. You might not even get a thank you. You are not sitting down to eat ,and you are getting a cup of comfort--do you need hollow niceties from this fabulous team of entrepeneurs? This family puts their work into making you upwards of 25 soups each day to warm your heart and belly. They are not there to make you smile. That's what the soup does. Did you know you can take your soup around the corner and eat it at Corina's Bakery due to their baguette sales? It's true. Do it, and maybe buy a cupcake from Corina's. Midday comfort created with a bowl of soup and baguette for $6.56(yes, I go there a lot) is a beautiful thing.
