This place is by far the best Peruvian restaurant I've eaten at, and I can say I'm pretty well-versed in Latin American food. I've tried multiple dishes here and seriously, everything has been just amazing and very authentic tasting. You can tell the food is made with high quality ingredients, many of which are not easy to find, obviously. So whoever complains about pricing should really be more reasonable and think twice. It is a little pricier than if you eat at a regular restaurant, obviously, since Latin American ingredients are not going to be as easy to find as other cuisines. I find the prices still pretty reasonable for the specialty and quality. Their spicy green sauce is just to die for! Also, the best green sauce I've had compared to other Peruvian places. I wish there were more Inka Grills in the area since I don't live that close to Lake Forest, but we still make the drive since it's so worth it. They used to have a location in Costa Mesa which was closer, but it closed a couple of years ago. Hopefully they can open another location closer to central OC. read more

When Lima City closed in Irvine, my Peruvian lunch spot was gone. I went months and months with that hankering for steak, rice and french fries (yes double starch, double carbs) and green chile sauce. Then, one day I went to Panera and saw that this place was buzzing with people outside... Hallelujah !!! It's waaay more pricey for lunch ($12) than Lima City (lunch special was $7) but its also enough for lunch and dinner or to share. The Lomo Saltado has a mound of white rice, a nice helping of beef swimming in this delicious sauce. It has grilled onions done just right, with a slight crunch, tomatoes, and then scallions. SO GOOD. Then you dump some of that savory green chile sauce and you got yourself a party in your mouth. They give you bread with it,but really ? I think that the rice and french fries are enough carbs. So why 4 stars you may ask ? The service. Its very hit or miss. The waitresses are obviously peruvian and well they don't speaka the english too well and are kinda rude even when dining in. read more

I stopped by for the first time with a coworker and ordered the empanadas for appetizer (you get 3 of your choice...beef, chicken, spinach w/feta) They were all really good but the spinach w/ feta was my FAVORITE. I would definitely order them again. For lunch I selected the chicken saltado. It was good but I had a lot of onions. The chicken ratio could have been better. Really good food. If you like spicy entrees try the Picante Pollo. Also recommend the Chimbotano pollo. Been here a handful of times for lunch. Get in early before the lunch crowds bc it packs out. The food at this place was extremely delicious! Their servings were quite big too. My favorite thing about this place was their bread and green sauce! You have to try the green sauce. I'm not sure what it is, but it's so good! Their beef saltado was also very delicious. Try getting it with sweet potato fries. You won't be disappointed. Writing this review a little late. Came here to eat with my family on a Friday night a few weeks back. It's a small place in the newly renovated plaza off Rockfield and Lake Forest. We were seated right away. We ordered the jalea to share and it was DELICIOUS. I ordered the saltado de marsicos, my sister ordered the pesto pasta with a chicken milanesa and my mom ordered a steak and salad. Everything was very flavorful. While we waited, we devoured the bread with the amazing green sauce. I've been to a different Peruvian place several times in both Costa Mesa and Garden Grove and Inka Grill is better by far. Meat + rice + flavor country = happy stomach. This isn't a fine dining establishment, but it's got some bomb food and decently sized portions. The green sauce is amazing - if you can handle a little spice, and their saltados are always a crowd pleaser. I've gotten the pallela before which was also pretty good - lots of seafood, and I recently got the picantes - imagine chicken curry w/ potatoes substituting the indian flavors for peruvian, also very good. read more

Awesome authentic nice mom and pop place. Food is amazing. Empanada appetizers, cup of green soup, ahi de gallena meal, shared by two of us (that's plenty) -- heaven.
