I never had Peruvian food, but I like it! I didn't go to the restaurant, we had it catered for our work lunch. One of my coworkers is Peruvian and she said it was okay, but honestly, I like it! The green rice was delicious! It may have needed more cilantro, the beef was delicious and flavorful! The tomato and onions gave it an extra touch. We also had the chicken platter. The chicken was a little dry, but the sauce for the chicken was really good, if you dip it in there it gave it flavor. Since one of my coworkers know the owner, we got free empanadas. That was the best! It was nice and crunchy and the limon dip gave it an extra zest! I don't really know Peruvian food, but it was good to me! During this time of Covid-19 and the "Shelter In" mandate, I just wanted to say that Inka's is still open, still serving excellent food, to go, and now thanks to good CA mask wearers (yay, us!), they are open to dine in, too! I've had to move up to Glendale, CA, for my job and we went down just this past weekend to visit close friends for a birthday meeting. They wore masks and gloves the whole time. We wore masks until we sat down. Everything was still excellent! Any chance I can get to go back to Irvine/Santa Ana/Costa Mesa, I'm going to try to visit them. After relocating to OC, one of the first things I wanted to do was find a new Peruvian restaurant. I was meeting one of my business partners nearby and opened yelp to find this little gem. It's located inside a corporate business park, so you might not see it when you first arrive, but lo and behold one of the best tasting Peruvian restaurants sits waiting for you. The ceviche, the Saltado de Pollo, the Lomo, the soup, and every Peruvians take on the green sauce was all amazing. I probably eat here at least once every two weeks and has never been disappointed. I'm a huge fan of Peruvian food so my friend decided to take me here. It's a little off the grid but worth the trouble to get to. The host was super friendly as we walked in and sat us right away. It wasn't busy at all so we had option of where we wanted to sit. FOOD ORDERED: COMPLIMENTARY BREAD: Super soft and great with the green sauce they have. CHICKEN SALTADO: a burst of flavor with every bite and comes with a TON of food. Probably three servings worth of food. There's plenty of meat that goes with the dish so it doesn't get overwhelmed by the rice. Added a fried egg on top as well which was a great idea! LOMO SALTADO: got the green rice which I was very tasty and a great compliment to the rest of the dish. Steak wasn't overcooked at all and paired well with the fries and veggies. There was a ton of flavor and juices with this dish. PERUVIAN COOKIES: A BITE OF HEAVEN. Not a sweets guy but these are scrumptious! Soft outer layer with a great middle to it. Nice surprise I went out for a burrito and missed the cutoff for breakfast so looked around for something close by and saw inka on yelp Who knew Peruvian food included a bomb ass combo fried rice? (Don't call dhs on me) They added a fried egg on top for me and that was it I was gone, baby, gone Creamy egg, lovely lightly charred stir fried rice and real shrimp (not those weird light pink things that pop like fishy boba) She asked if I wanted "bread and green sauce" and I heard "red and green salsa" so I said yes - lots please! My coworker found this place on Yelp it was lonely (because of the pandemic) but it is worth coming to. I had the Beef Chaufa and liked it. Every so often I get the craving for Peruvian food because eating it takes me back to my wild trek to Machu Pichu. Lomo Salgado and beef picante are my favorites, with both an Inka Cola or Sangria. Of course, I always ask to take home the spice dip that comes with the bread too. The staff is always super friendly and very knowledgeable. They also have the best location in the neighborhood, in my opinion - quiet and distance outdoors is paramount in these times we live. Inka's is THE BEST Peruvian food you would ever try in Orange County. It's a cozy, casual restaurant with Amazing Service. I've tried their arroz con pollo with cilantro rice and it's simply fabulous. Their portions are quite large so if you are a light eater it would be more than enough to share. We always get served by Juana and she loves what she does and you can tell. She is both attentive and efficient. I always leave this restaurant extremely happy. Highly recommend! read more

Food: flavorful, great quality chicken and steak. Aguadito soup (chicken cilantro) SPLENDID!!! Cilantro rice is authentic and perfect. Dessert: softest and most delicious short bread cookies...OMG DELISH!!!! Waitress: ANNA is AMAZING--just fabulous. They were reserved and booked; she seated us immediately and she offered & gave us cushions for our comfort. There was a reserved party of 15+ and she handled that table and us and did not skip a beat. Every request was handled with love and a smile. Great family feel and friendly faces. Thank you!!! Hands down the best Peruvian food I've ever had. If you're a seafood lover, then I highly recommend getting the Peruvian paella.

Tried for the first time, and was very excited! The flavors were great, but a few things were a little disappointing. I'd say the most disappointing thing was the portion sizes, specifically the seafood dishes. We got the paella and seafood saltado. Other Peruvian places I've been will at least be really generous with the fish and calamari, but there wasn't much in our dishes. Most bites were rice without seafood. Also the use of catfish was a bit disappointing as well. Tilapia would have been a better alternative. But this could be my personal preference as I'm not a fan of catfish. Last bit of disappointment was from the paella. There was a mix of green beans, carrots, and corn. Based on the texture and taste of them, I think they just opened a bag of frozen mixed veggies and mixed it in. Again, great flavors, but for the price I'd expect more portions of seafood. Maybe I had an off day, but I'd be willing to try again; but I'll probably be trying other dishes. read more

Ahhh so happy to be back in the area just to eat here. When we first lived in this area we ate here a lot. The service is outstanding. You are treated like family from the time you walk in until the time you walk out. The location is small and is located in a business area, so it probably gets pretty crazy at lunchtime. But, if you go on a Friday night it's pleasant. Like, it's not completely empty but it's not full. On to the food because that's what's important. They offer you bread, butter, and some green crack sauce when you arrive. The bread and butter are soft so it's actually edible and the green crack sauce is addicting. It's got some kick so use with precaution. The Lomo Saltado is it! The meat is perfectly seasoned and it is delicious the next day. But, don't cook it in the microwave. Put it all in a skillet and cook it on the stove. That was a hot tip from the owner and, YES, she nailed it. They also have Peruvian beer, so try something different and pop one open. Our favorite Peruvian restaurant in the area! We dine outside or order for pick up regularly. It is pretty hidden within a commercial complex but still stays open fairly late. Found out about this place via Yelp - was looking to try out Peruvian food. It was slightly complicated to locate the restaurant due to it being hidden among other office buildings. It has ample amount of parking space available since it shares a private parking lot with other businesses. It offers indoor as well as outdoor seating options - patio decor is really nice. We came here for dinner during a weekday and we were seated right away without any reservation. Our server seemed like she was new or didn't really try to make small talk with us. I am vegetarian so I ordered following items from their menu: -- Minestrone Soup: it was loaded with vegetables and it was delicious. Proportion of the soup was huge and easily can be used as a meal substitute or shared between two people. -- Saltado Vegetables: can't really go wrong with anything that has fries. I wanted to love this place, but there were several issues. For the record, I am Peruvian and familiar with the cuisine (after all, it is my favorite). 1. Waiters are nice but overworked and stretched thin. -When my group arrived, a waitress greeted us and said she'd seat us in a bit but then she got busy attending other tables. No big deal, it happens. So we went inside and saw the owner. She told us to write down our names in a book. This was confusing. So do we wait for a waiter/waitress to seat us or do we write our name down in the book? And how will they reach us? do We just wait inside? Outside? Will they call or text? No explanation from the owner. When we did get seated, we noticed that the waiters seemed flustered, zipping from one place to the next. They were still nice though, which was good. However, our waiter wasn't just responsible for the food. He also had to sweep the floors and do other things around the restaurant, and that's the next thing. 2. The owner -When we walked inside the restaurant, the owner came off as standoffish. One of my friends asked questions and she did not seem patient and at one point just ignored him. Not even, "I'll get back to you in a bit" or "I'll get you seated soon." We had to ask her about us getting seated even though she noticed us waking in, and that's when she mentioned the book. But she was not cordial about it. At the end of our visit, she was, to her credit, in a better mood, asked us how the food was, and greeted us farewell. Still, she did not show good customer service throughout most of our time there, especially in the beginning. 3. Flow of service -This is issues 1 and 2 combined. The staff was overworked and they kept asking the owner everything. i think that with all due respect, there needs to be a better organization in the restaurant. For instance, hire a host/hostess to sit people. My group waited for about 15-20 minutes to get seated even though there was not a line to get in. Or have a floor manager to staff in front of house. 4. The Food -When my group got seated, it took over 20 minutes (closer to 30) for all of us to get bread with the aJi verde. That is not the standard time it should take. I ordered the sopa criolla with beef, but I got it with no beef. To top it off, there was barely any seasoning. thankfully, i told the waiter and he gave me another soup, which did have the beef and was delicious, so that is a bright spot. 5. The Drinks -I got a chicha morada. It was watered down, was tangier than I expected, and didn't have the purple maize essence I expected. My friend tried it too and had the same opinion. overall, I would not recommend coming here. The organizational and manager-related issues piled up, and the food and drinks had redeeming qualities, but not enough to make up for the other problems. read more
