Here's the short version: Inside Moves is the only mover you should even think about calling. Want to know why? Read on... We scheduled Ted and his crew to move us when the renovations were done on our new house. Renovations being what they are, of course it wasn't finished. Hey Ted - can you shift your schedule? No Problem! Got the new date locked in and the crew was there first thing in the morning. No easing into things or warm up, no coffee, no bleary-eyes -- these guys showed up ready to crush it from the start. If someone had opened up a magic genie bottle, we couldn't have gotten anything better! Loading up happened more quickly and smoothly than we could have hoped for. The crew worked with such efficiency and professionalism that everything that could have been a problem wasn't. We kept turning around thinking, "Oh, but *that's* still got to get done..." But no -- they had already done it and were moving on to the next room or task! Unloading, too, happened almost by magic. After a quick tour of the new house, they seemed to anticipate where everything would go as if they were reading our minds. Then came a moment that defined to me why we had hired the right crew. They had begun to hang up some of the clothes in the master closet and the wall brackets and poles pulled out of the walls (poor workmanship and mounting). It was absolutely not the fault of the Inside Moves crew, but they were genuinely and sincerely mortified, apologizing over and over again. That kind of sincerity, that caring, is something you simply can't put a price on. I believe them completely now when they say they care more about my stuff than I do. I used this company to move everything out of my home and into storage. These are the most amazing movers I have ever used! My team was Robert, Alex, and Moise. They wrapped ALL my furniture so it would stay safe, clean and protected in storage. The crew was extremely courteous and everything was done in an A+ professional and efficient manner. Ted Cotter at Inside Moves impressed me right off the bat. He responded by phone in under an hour to my request for an estimate through his website. When I told him I needed to hire someone to unload my PODS storage container, he inquired as to where I was moving in and when he learned it was a townhouse community, he was expressed concern about the availability of a good location for placing the pod. Without even being hired yet, he volunteered to drive over (while I was at work in LA) and look. Sure enough, he called me back a while later to tell me that my plan wouldn't work, and suggested an alternate location to put the pod while it was being unloaded. He was very familiar with the local PODS office and worked with them to coordinate the timing of the drop-off and pick-up so that the pod was in the garage alley for a minimum amount of time (to avoid the wrath of the very strict HOA). He and his crew showed up on time, dealt with a lock I had lost the key for, and carted my furniture through the rain into a 3-story townhouse. If you need someone in the SF valley, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys. read more

A friend moved about a year ago and used Inside Moves for the job. His enthusiasm for the quality of their service was so powerful that I had to call them when my move time came up. Ted responded to my message in about 10 minutes and right off the bat remembered the details of my friend's move. I had a really bad experience dealing with the owner/estimator. He was arrogant and inconsiderate from the beginning, only willing to come out to do the estimate at a time that works for him. When the day came I didn't see him at agreed time and called him again, he was rude and refused to reschedule by hanging up on the phone. We hired Inside moves for our 3 bedroom move to a 4 bedroom home. They were on time (I mean literally, they drove up at 8:15 exactly) and very friendly. We have 3 little kids and they treated them with so much respect, as they organized the move based on where the kids we playing in the house. They simply moved that room last. Each of the guys was careful and packed each of our items well. They moved them into our desires locations and all was done within the estimated timeframe. I purchased a Yelp deal that we used toward the move ($50 for $100 of service). I've move a few times and these guys are professionals and not just "day worker" labor. I was dreading my move day! Who doesn't. But Robert, Alex and Fransisco came to my rescue. They got caught in a freeway hard closure for 10 minutes that morning but Robert was on the phone with me immediately letting me know what was happening. They arrived only 10 minutes later than quoted only because of the closure. From there they went straight to work. They were very efficient, professional and were very careful with all my things. They checked to see if I needed help with anything and were very kind. They moved me out of my home and put all my stuff in my storage unit very carefully and neat. We had an all around great experience with Inside Moves! When I was calling around to moving companies before I moved, Inside Moves asked the most detailed questions, like how far from the parked moving truck my apartment was, how many large pieces of furniture I had, etc. Other moving companies just wanted to know the size of the apartment. Inside Moves did quote me a much more expensive estimate than any other moving company I called, but that was because they had taken the time to get a more accurate idea of what my move would entail. If I had gone with a different moving company, I'm sure the final cost would have been much higher than the original estimate. On the day of the move, five very efficient guys showed up and brought all kinds of furniture wrap, extra tape, and wardrobe boxes, at no extra charge. They wrapped all my furniture carefully, but they did it so quickly that I don't think it added significantly to the time it was taking to do the move. These awesome mover guys just did not stop. We tried to get them to take a bit of a lunch break, but they maybe stopped for five minutes at most. Even though they were moving fast, they took very good care of the furniture. They even had protective carpet runners for the wood floors so that they wouldn't accidentally scratch anything. I always had the sense that they understood that I was paying by the hour, and they didn't want to take any more time than was absolutely necessary. Even with the 45 minute drive from the old place to the new place, the whole move was done in less than 5 hours. As a result, the final total cost of my move was significantly lower than the original estimate they had quoted to me. The moral of the story is that you should go with Inside Moves, even if their estimate is larger than the estimate you get from another moving company. You definitely get what you pay for! read more

This review is long overdue! We moved over a year ago and I am finally getting the time to sit down and write a review! We used Ted and Inside Moves and were so happy with their service. All the guys were professional and easy to work with. We moved a 2 bedroom apartment and 2 storage units (located in the underground parking area of the apartment) into a 3 bedroom house located about 20 minutes away within 7-8 hours! We had everything packed and ready to go when the guys showed up at 7am. They had the apartment cleared out in no time at all. They wrapped everything and protected it properly... there was no damage to any of our items. This was the first time I had used a professional moving company, and so initially was a little hesitant regarding the pricing and how it was quoted by the hour instead of a fixed rate. I thought for sure that an hourly quoted job would drag on beyond the time quoted... you know how it usually goes... but that didn't happen with Inside Moves. They quoted us 8-9 hours and were done in 7-8. It was worth every penny we spent. They were competitively priced and we chose to go with them because of their patience with us through the quoting process. I would definitely recommend them if you are moving! read more
