Today John Sr and John Jr of Inspection Master inspected a home I have listed. I did not hire him the buyer's agent hired him and his son to do the inspection. John Sr. conducted himself in a very disrespectful way. He was rude and condescending. Maybe it was a bad day for him however he acted like if I did not like it to bad. I read on other reviews on Yelp that he has treated other people the same way. It is clear that he does not realize that agents are his life source. We refer our clients to Inspection companies. Customer service is always #1 in my world but not to John Sr. I would never hire him or recommend him to anyone. read more

He came out and inspected a property we are purchasing about a month ago, then came out again at our request for a re-inspection to verify that certain repairs were completed. His reports are very thorough, he is extremely helpful, and he responded to all of our requests in a very timely fashion. He inspect a property in Irvine. Customer stated that AC was not working properly after changing the battery for the timer in temperature control button. Somebody touched wire in the attic according to John. He was told that owner didn't have anyone to touch the wire as it was not necessary. Then without further investigation he called third party an "Idiot" and accuse for other things. The other party wanted to talk to him but he won't answer. Instead of taking responsibility, blaming on others. Very poor professionalism. read more

I'm a local realtor, have done MANY inspections with John and he is a great home inspector. There are dozens of inspectors to choose from and I feel very comfortable recommending him to my clients. It's unfortunate that the two other reviews had such a bad experience, but I have used him time and time again, not just once. I haven't had any clients come back with negative feedback on John! He is honest, straightforward, and does a good job. He's been on the roof (of course depending on the scope of the roof will have its limitations). I've seen him peek around in attic spaces, if needed climb in to investigate anything unusual. He's suited up and been in crawl spaces. He does it all! John Cooper is the inspector I worked at Inspection Masters. It's his company I believe and he inspected a home that I'm in the process of buying. Admittedly, I searched online for a home inspectors (not something one needs regularly) and I tried to get reviews (via AngiesList, etc...). This is my first home purchase and wanted to make sure I had it done by someone knowledgeable. I had my doubts after reading the review from Summer F. here on Yelp, but I took a shot and called John anyways since he was recommended by Redfin.com (great home buying site) and I figured Redfin wouldn't recommend someone with a bad reputation. When I spoke with John on the phone he seemed like a friendly, normal, standup guy. He returned my call the next day (I called on Saturday and left a message) and after our conversation I felt confident to schedule the inspection with him. He also has experience with pools which was a plus for me. John's pricing is great (very competitive). He is knowledgeable and he took his time. He didn't rush through it and checked all parts of the home. I was satisfied with his report, and certainly recommend him as an inspector that will give you his professional opinion and is also a pleasure to work/deal with. Great sense of humor too. On June 25, 2012 my wife and I had John Cooper (Inspection Masters) inspect a condo we were thinking of buying in the Diamond Bar area. Mr. Cooper showed up early and thoroughly prepared to get to work. Being a condo we didn't think there'd be much to check, but came away from the experience amazed at how thorough and professional Mr. Cooper was. He methodically inspected and tested everything, some things that I hadn't even thought of. He was up to date with his knowledge of local building code requirements. What impressed me the most was the home inspection report itself and how professionally it was presented to us. Mr. Cooper had his laptop and a portable printer set up on the kitchen counter. Upon completion of his inspection, he imputed everything into his computer along with photos of each of the items he was referencing. He patiently explained everything that came up during the inspection using the accompanying photo to makes things easier to visualize and understand. Instead of having to wait for days to get the official written report like we have had to do in the past, Mr. Cooper had already printed one out along with a CD that had all of the pictures he had taken on it. He presented this to us in a very professional package that included the inspection related stuff, but some other useful informational brochures as well. We could not have been more impressed. We had a really positive experience with Inspection Masters and recommend this company highly. You won't be disappointed. read more

John Cooper does a fantastic job for my real estate clients looking to buy a home. He does a great job at educating buyers on what are legit concerns VS stuff that isn't necessarily a big picture item. Some inspectors scare off buyers by giving personal opinions and incorrectly referencing codes that may apply to new construction, but doesn't necessarily apply to homes that are older. John is able to look at the big picture and give a real, honest inspection. He even completes the inspection and gives copies to the buyers on site so you aren't waiting days for the inspection to be complete! read more

John did an inspection on my home in June and we found some issues recently that I contacted him about because it is within his "warranty" period and he was completely unhelpful and doesn't care at all. My home is in escrow and I am the seller of the property So I must say that this company was on the other party's side - as it would have never been my choice. I was at home when the inspector John, arrived along with the buyer's realtors. The treatment toward myself and my home was totally disrespectful in their attempt to inspect. I continuously heard banging and slamming as John and his partner moved through my home. Items in my home were left out of place and not returned to their proper order. I went to lower the blinds in a bath that were stuck. When I asked him to return the blinds in the bathroom to the original placement I was told that he could not do so because they were stuck. The blinds moved easily before his inspection. His attitude was rude and disarming. As he was preparing to leave I noticed the kitchen sink sprayer hanging off the holder. When I asked what had happened he simply stated that it was broken. The item had not been broken prior to his arrival and I immediately went outside to the realtor to advise of the situation. John acted as if nothing was wrong. The item was damaged and will now have to be repaired. I am summarizing what was a very distracting and unprofessional 2 or so hours. Needless to say I will be making formal written complaints to the buyers realtors and oversight boards. read more

I'd highly recommend him if your about to get into escrow on a home. What I like about John is that you have the report in hand when he leaves the inspection that the language if the report is in-depth but easily readable by my clients who may not be familiar with the lingo. Sylvia Aguayo, transaction coordinator of Roman Realty hired John Cooper from Masters Inspection to do all of our home inspection. This inspector does a thorough inspection of the property. The inspector goes to the top of the roof and crawls under the basement. When the inspection is finished then he will go over the report with the client and answer all their questions. The client then takes with them a completed report of the inspection plus a CD with pictures of the property. Roman Realty never had a client complain of his inspection. I have worked with other home inspection companies and they are not prepare enough to give the client a completed report. Roman Realty highly recommend Master Inspection!! read more

The owner of this company, John Cooper is absolutely unprofessional. My inspection was set up thru my realtor and the date of inspection was set up by the seller. His price was a little higher than I what i was told and expecting. I asked him if we could meet somewhere in the middle on the price and he snapped at me, his client. The guy has a really bad anger management problem raising his voice at me and trying to bully me around. The guy snapped at me during the inspection in front of my realtor and my wife. Very confrontational in the way he conducts himself. Wanted cash for the discount. Then he cursed and used a lot of profanity while was withdrawing money in front of my realtor and wife. Also, he was not that thorough on inspection. Missed a few things here and there. Miserable experience with his company. Absolutely unprofessional! read more

After the inspection of my home for sale John Cooper neglected to tell me that he had altered the temperatures of all three of my bathtubs which resulted in 1. a slightly burned foot (in one tub), 2. a very cold foot (in another tub) and 3. a scalding shower. Additionally, John Cooper left the air conditioner set on 83 degrees wasting gas to heat the house and then electricity to cool it down. John Cooper left the flue open on the fireplace resulting in wasted energy, John Cooper left the door of my shed OPEN AND UNLOCKED too! John Cooper missed termites and missed the broken ballast in the kitchen. John Cooper said he couldn't open the gate on the side of the house. Dude, ASK FOR THE KEY! John Cooper inspected both sides of the gate so I don't understand what there was to inspect anyway. Of course, John Cooper did not note what he was trying to inspect. I think John Cooper should have the courtesy to tell me that he has made alterations to some of the adjustments in my house. That's not too much to ask. Not at all happy with John Cooper. read more

BUYERS BEWARE!!! This inspector was referred by his agent. This is the worst inspector I have ever met. He is rude, disrespectful and very unprofessional He had no concern for the damage he did to the home he was inspecting. When we brought it to his attention he said he would not be responsible for the damage he does . Who says that to your clients. His attitude was so bad plus he over charged the buyer. If you google this inspector you will find several customers who were extremely dissatisfied with his service. read more

We are the house sellers and recently had our has inspected by John Cooper and his son. Met them on the way out as we were not supposed to be here while they inspected the house. Surprise when we got home later and found both the front and rear doors were left unlocked. Later after it got dark we also noticed they left the patio lights on. The next item was him marking all the electrical outlets he wanted changed with a blue marker that doesn't readily wash off. He should not be able to deface my property! He wrote up the smoke alarm as non-operational, I pressed the test button and on it came, maybe he didn't know where it was. Also wrote up no CO alarm outside the bedrooms when I just installed it in the hallway 2 weeks earlier. Not to mention the dishwasher where he wrote up no air gap, should have an air gap OR looping drain line under the sink. If he'd have looked under the sink, there is definitely a looping drain line as required. Finally too many hypthetical issue like the freshly painted walls may be hiding something. I could keep going, this company may be a realtor's dream for the buyers but if you're selling, don't let them in the door!! read more

John and his son did two different home inspections for me during the buying process and were completely incompetent in both. They missed obvious items and documented canned items. When contacted about the numerous missed items I recieved no reply. They truly are an agents inspector who simply wants to get the deal closed. Horrible company. read more

I am a realtor so I have been a part of many many home inspections over the years. I have been using John for about 8 years. I always recommend him as my first choice. He's thorough, professional and also very reasonable. His cost is also reasonable and fair. He is also very willing to speak to the buyer a few days later if another question comes up. I find him to be kind and patient as well! I completely disagree with one of the reviews here that states John did not go under the house. That is a preposterous assumption. He keeps a suit with him to crawl under the house. He goes on the roof and under the house and everywhere in between. John was so amazing and very patient while giving me all the information about his service. for being a first time home buyer.. he made me feel so comfortable. while we met at my new potential house, he walked me through the entire property and explaining to me in great detail what needed to be fixed and what was working properly. in the long run john saved me a lot of money. its always nice to get a heads up! i will 100% recommend him to other clients. i am a very picky and a lot of people would call me a perfectionist... but let me tell you, INSPECTION MASTERS IS THE BEST! they met all my needs and even called me with a follow up. i could not be more happy with inspection masters. love this company.! read more
