Although Inspiration has a large inventory, I'm not Inspired by the product knowledge of some of their sales people. Especially those helping us while purchasing a $200 desk chair for our home. We asked the sales person what material the chair was made of. The person said it was leather. We were concerned about the base rusting since the chair had chrome legs. The person assured us that they were stainless steel and that they would not rust. Well, the chair was not leather and the base is now totally corroded. What we thought was a durable leather chair is actually now flaking all over the floor and there's a sponge like material beneath it. And, what we thought was a stainless steel base is completely rusted. We've purchased a lot of home furnishings from Inspiration Interiors. I wouldn't even give them one star but the poor quality of their furniture is pathetic. I purchased a storage bed and after the 6th time lifting it up it broke. I had to jump through hoops to get credit and had to pick another bed frame. I still have credit there but I don't want to bring home some crappy merchandise. I purchased six (6) buffets and called to let them know they were made poorly and the drawer slides are falling apart, she tells me it was put together wrong or not being used incorrectly! What no open the drawers? She wants to sell me replacement glides at $12.50 each! Don't buy furniture there unless you plan not to use it. Huge space for furniture. This review is based on their outdoor furniture selection. The outdoor furniture is on the top floor. Very contemporary-- nothing mind blowing, not the largest selection. The mind blowing part are the prices. I get that these are designer pieces, but designer does not = "rob you blind." There was ONE wicker sofa piece for 5k, not the set, the one sofa--again nothing spectacular about this particular piece. Holy shit, I ordered two complete desks to pick up at their warehouse, located, ouch, in Kapolai,. So get this one drawer from the desk set needs to be back ordered, I asked if they would drop it off at inspiration Honolulu so I could pick it up there. The manager told me he has the authority to to make the exception,but he won't, he said he will charge $45 to deliver it to the inspiration store in Honolulu. So a $35 drawer that inspiration does not have in stock and they're going to charge me 45 to drop it off in town. That's pretty shitty customer service if you ask me! read more

Reading posts by others I found it obvious that the merchants judge their shoppers. My story is that I went to seven furniture stores in the waikiki area one sunny day and seeing this one I was drawn to going in. After finding the parking I walked in and began browsing. Yes I was wearing basketball shorts and a T-shirt, but actually had money to buy the furniture and honestly was curious about the store and what it had to offer. Unfortunately for them, they chose to ignore my existence as I casually grazed around all three floors of the store (How I could walk all three floors in a relatively empty store and not be approached is beyond me and made me much less likely to purchase). Honestly they have some nice pieces in there, but I feel as though the store is overpriced. I personally am a creator/artist so I have no problem spending well on something that is intricate, clever and well designed. Some things in this store i would spend for, but many things in there just look like modern feel cookie cutter designs that cater more toward looks rather than practicality or realistic comfort. Overall this is an interesting building because it seems to have more uses than 'just a furniture store'. But the service needs to learn to serve void of bias and the rent must be metaphorical skyscraper. Either they were having an off day or they will be moving soon lol. Ever heard of the phrase, "don't judge a book by its cover?" I don't want to make assumptions that the sales rep thought I couldn't afford anything. But his words basically told me to get out. "We don't carry anything like that at all." "You should try Home World. They have much more affordable furniture." "Amazon won't ship that to you? It'll be cheaper." "All of our rugs are going to be at least $1000." He spoke in a very kind voice. But the words he chose to use told me that he probably thought I was too poor to be there. He didn't even ask if I had a price range. There was no reason for him to make any assumptions. I had my eyes on a cute coffee table. But after listening to him, I didn't even mention that I was looking at it. I just took a picture of it and left. Sorry dude, you just lost a $1000 sale. Sales reps need to learn to treat everyone with respect no matter what they imagine someone's background to be. Hmmm. Came here to look for a bed and I was not very impressed. Not only was the selection slim pickin's, but the prices were pretty expensive for what you get. Bought a complete set couch with chaise, already broken. Two springs (of the three) that are for the seated support just broke. It ended up ripping the bottom fabric sheet. Looking inside you can see the shoddy workmanship and "quality" of the build. On my old couch the springs were tethered to the frame using metal mounts, in the one from Inspiration it's held on by cheap plastic mounts, PLASTIC WTF?! No wonder why they failed. Buyers be aware of the origin of your furniture, ours was from China and it shows. $1700, what a waste. I could have bought a used couch from Craigslist for $100 and have a better experience. I'm glad I got the warranty for it even though it's a 5 year one time use. read more

Two workers spend as long as they needed to set up everything, from lamp to tables to a large wardrobe. It was heaven & hell compare to Ashley Furniture store (Ashely Furniture being the HELL). I was surprised to see so many negative reviews for this place. I don't doubt that other people have had bad experiences at Inspiration, but each time I've been there my experience has been positive. My husband and I are both 20-somethings and we came in wearing rubber slippers, t-shirts and shorts. The staff was nice and very helpful -- I don't feel like they were judging or ignoring us because of our age/appearance like some of the other reviewers have said. I purchased a sectional sofa over a year ago and it's still in great condition. I haven't had any issues with it at all, and we use this thing daily. Today we went back to the store and bought a dining table. We looked at Ashley Furniture, Red Knot Hawaii, and the Navy Exchange furniture store before coming here. Inspiration had the best selection BY FAR...AND the best prices. Yes, believe it or not, the best prices. We found the perfect table for our dining room and it was $300 cheaper than a comparable one we were going to special order from an Ashley Furniture catalog. Sorry to hear all the negative reviews! Purchased a Natuzzi care and cleaning kit and looked at the Stressless chairs. I was not aware that the Stressless chairs came in three sizes; I call them "First Class, Business Class, and Coach". Being a plus size gal, the First Class chairs are oh so comfy. Mom felt that it was a bit too big. How can any chair be too big? Didn't get bombarded by salespeople, which is good, but sometimes can be a bad thing if one DOES need assistance. The prices were pretty good. Now if she could only choose a color! Ugh! I am pregnant and my husband and I were both trying to make informed purchases for the wellbeing and health of our family! I am very disappointed I was lied to. This business should not be trusted. We purchased a couch paid in full from Inspiration Interiors on 7/7/19. When we asked about the manufacturing details we were told that the couch was made in the U.S., has a real wooden frame, and was topgrain 'grass-fed' leather. After having the couch delivered to our home the couch the smell from the offgassing was so intense and sickening we removed it from our home and it has been on or lanai. I contacted the customer service line and asked for manufacturing information on my couch he told us that the couch was in fact manufactured in China. Please see our correspondence. Jonathan helped us get exactly what we were looking for. He was very knowledgeable, patient and kind. I knew I wanted a white bedroom set and he took us right to all the options available. When my husband joined me, he said he wanted a lower bed frame so Jonathan showed us what he had while keeping my wants in mind. We quickly decided on a beautiful light colored bedroom set within our budget. We also wanted a large sectional couch for our family of 5. We wanted to be able to lay out for movie nights. This is an amazing amount of furniture with two floors of tables, chairs, couches, love seats, lighting. Great for high end condominiums, but not for a family with small children. I have noticed that the prices are inflated when items first arrive. If the items aren't sold, they are drastically reduced. We walked through the entire store looking for a new couch, no greeting, everyone ignored us, stuck to themselves and socialized or stayed at their desk. There were barely any customers around, so I have no idea how any of the sales people could not atleast greeted nor asked if we had questions. The crazy thing? After spending atleast half an hour there, the only nice woman who actually walked up to us was as we were in our last 5 minutes roaming her children area. We paid $2500 for a sectional at Inspiration furniture. Under just 2 years, the cushions started started sinking in the middle. I called to ask about a warranty. I was told it was not under warranty and could pay $400 per section to have the springs repaired. No way was I doing this, as there are 4 sections to the sofa. I ended up looking at a DIY spring repair, tore the underneath apart and saw that the cheaply made furniture used PLASTIC pieces that became brittle and broke- or it was due to the up and down motion of people sitting on the cushion that bends it back and forth. Either way, I was disgusted that the furniture was made so cheaply and it cost a lot. I ended up repairing it myself for $5. The fact that they would also charge that much for a repair is also disappointing. My recommendation- might was well pay for cheaper furniture at RED KNOT and know its only going to last a couple years, than pay a lot with the understanding it's a quality piece of furniture. While INspiration Interiors has a great selection of furniture at various budget points, their customer service is lacking. I've visited their Honolulu store five or six times, and only two times did a customer service agent approach me, much less greet me. One of those times I asked the agent if the piece I was interested was in stock, to which he condescendingly said "yes", then straight up just left. No one else even bothered to help me after that. Needless to say, I did not purchase anything that day, and took my business to their competitors. I've been to almost all the furniture stores in town, and never before have I felt so unwelcome. Purchased several big items here over the past several years to furnish my house. We got a dining room set, 2 dressers, and a couch. The dining set is fine and good quality. The dressers are ikea quality and my husband had to have one of their repairmen come to fix a sagging drawer. We have a friend who spent $2500 on a couch a few years ago that the "pleather" is peeling off in huge chunks. If you do choose to shop here, make sure you thoroughly inspect the quality of the piece and ask questions. Sometimes it is better to just buy online from the mainland and pay for the shipping to have a better quality item. Customer service here also needs improvement. The girls at the cashier are extremely rude and unfriendly. They need to learn how to smile and say hello, especially to customers who are paying for purchases. All the girl said to me today was, sign here, all sales are final with a sneer on her face. Wish there were more stores here on the island for modern furniture. read more

we came here specifically to see their memorial day specials. We went to other furniture stores as well and we liked the layout and the vibe here the best. We were professionally greeted as we entered (a good sign of them showing we matter to them) Interesting that there is a small coffee counter selling coffees and small food items in the area as you enter (most furniture places wouldnt put the possibility of coffee and their furniture in the same area ) Anyways once we actually entered we were engaged by several pleasant sales people ( and the place was busy) The sales guy that actually assisted us was Dan ( very knowledgable professional and pleasant) He patiently answered any questions we had and even had helpful suggestions as he guided us through Inspirations huge 3 story showroom (their showroom seemed very well arranged , managed and updated). Even though we did not end up purchasing anything having gone to most of the majority of furniture stores (from Aiea to town) in one day and experiencing it all we preferred returning to Inspiration because they were very professional..made us feel valued..had a huge selection.. and just had a better overall vibe. read more

I purchased bedroom, living room and dining room furniture in March 2021. Inventory was CHECKED and i was told the furniture i purchased will be delivered on May 30th. No one called to confirm the delivery time this weekend so i called them. I was told there was a delay and my order would not be delivered until July and August. I has to pay full price for my order upfront over 20k and now I don't even feel confident I'll get my furniture. I feel taken advantage of because they took my money and my furniture is not being delivered as promised. I was not told there could be a possibility of a delay in shipment when i purchased the items. And there was no mention of it in the sales contract. Communication is poor once you walk out the door. I was never updated by the sales staff of the delays. I would NOT-have purchase it if i knew it was coming in so late or if there would even be the possibility of delays.
