I was regular customer of this place for more than 12 years. I stopped going here for my oil change after a young kid stripped my oil pan . They tried to put silicone on it but did not fix the problem. I asked the owner how much to repair it or replace the oil pan but his response is depends on Heu Paan "The Mechanic" . I am expecting for him to repair it or replace but he me told that aluminum pan get stripped overtime. True but not when you force the bolt to go in even the thread is not properly aligned . Tu the owner of the shop become greedy over the years. Keep on raising his price and does not take responsibility on the action of his crew. What a cool place! I was greeted as I drove in and the wait to the front was no longer than 5-10 minutes (Tuesday noon). What amazed me was how the oil change itself was even quicker. I was told I could stay inside my car as they worked, but I ended up getting out because I wanted to watch the process. I felt like I just blinked and they were done. I can't believe it. I've been going to these folks for 7 years, since they were on Hesperian. I love them BUT I always bring my own parts/fluids. I have been with them UNTIL TODAY. I am fuming!!!! Today, my wife went to have her transmission oil changed. It's manual transmission, which means, one plug and a couple quarts of standard motor oil. In the past (including a few times this year), these folks charged us only $20 for labor. However, she didn't bring the motor oil today. (About $1 a quart) They overcharged her because she didn't know any better!!! I am so disappointed with these folks. I called the owner and he confirmed that labor only would have been $20. They charged $70.69!!!! WTF?!!!! The tranny does not take 50 quarts!!!! read more

If I could give ZERO stars that is what they would get. After earning your trust... they will relocate windshield tag to the inside of the drivers door. They will not be changing your oil every time. They are ALL nice, polite and bring you your oil stick to review the clean full oil , but it is not oil from your engine oil stick well. Sad but true. Last week for my oil change maintenance they did not change my oil with the Mobile full syn that i brought in. I wouldn't doubt if they used old oil from a previous cars oil change. So I got there and parked around the corner and they said "oil change" I said yes and they said come and sit down and took my keys. They told me it would be an extra $5 because my car has a big engine so it was $35. It's for a synthetic blend. he brought me the newspaper to read. They said my engine had a leak but it was small and common in mazdas over 100k miles, and I should keep an I on it and take it to the dealer. They were done in less then 10 minutes! Amazing! Wow! Awesome place! After not being happy with my experience at the Jiffy Lube near my house in Castro Valley I searched Yelp for another option. I saw how many great reviews this place had and drove the 15minutes over to get my oil changed. I spoke with Manager Chris on the phone before I left to confirm they were a drive through Oil Change. Yes! He confirmed my make and model and the price over the phone. Excellent price! When I drove in I think 6 guys jumped up out of their chairs and immediate started helping me. Chris took my information and before he finished filling out the paperwork my car was done. What? Wow!!! I'm talking like 2 minutes and my car was done....with no wait! Not only did they do a fast job for a great price but they made me feel like they were very happy to help me and to do my oil change. Chris nicely asked if he could offer my toddler a lollipop. This place totally lives up to it's reviews. I went here all because of Yelp and I am happy to say it was great experience. They did my oil change and wind wiper replacement in about 10 mins. An oil change was normally $35, for me being a first timer there, they bumped it down to $31. Every penny counts! Windwipers were 2 for $25. Most of their costs already include labor costs, which is what i normally perfer. Rather then people advertising for $20 wipes and a $5 labor cost. Cause really, its not so hard to snap on some wipes. They also did a general check of my car and rather then bring up a bunch of crap about how everything is wrong with my car and try to sell me something, they smiled and said everything looked great. Even complimented my choice of car, Honda Civic, mentioning it was easy to work on. The guy Chris was really helpful and overall their staff was very approchable. Ask for a specific brand of oil and know what you need before you go. I went here for a quick oil change based on the yelp rating. The service writer recommended partial synthetic. My warranty requires full synthetic. I informed him of this and he gave me a new quote. My new car clearly states 0-20 wt on the oil filler cap. They used 5-20 wt. They have a full wall of name brand oil e.g Mobil1, Castro, Penzoil Synthetic but didn't offer me a choice. When i asked them what brand they put in my car it was a no-name. These guys are great. Oil changes are ridiculously fast, very friendly and professional staff, never a problem. But they do a lot more than oil changes. I work down the street from them, and myself and my coworkers have been dropping our cars off here for all kinds of general auto service for the past year: brake service; belts checked and changed; tire service; etc. My car is there right now getting a stereo installed and the door lock fixed after a recent auto break-in. And always at a reasonable price and good advice - I never get the feeling they're trying to fleece me. I recommend these guys for all engine and brake service, not just the ultra-quick lube service. Instantly pulled into the building and before I could unbuckle my seatbelt, three guys were making shit happen. Changed all fluids, reset my "Service" light, and gave me a CC receipt to sign in 7 minutes. 7 MINUTES! I felt as though I was at a pit stop at a Indy 500 race. This place is awesome! I've waited hours for an oil change at the dealership. Your other option are the 18-19 year old employees at Jiffy who look like they just smoked a fatty around back before they start working on your car (don't ask about the time the stoner forgot replace the oil plug).
