Worse experience ever. I have been going here for at least 6 years. Once with my Buick and now with my BMW. I went to get a $110 oil change, simple right? No. Technician Samuel, replaced the filter and in the process broke my coolant hose. They then told me that Kevin(owner) would need to come and replace the hose. They had me wait and hour and a half for Kevin to arrive. As I was waiting, tech(Omar) told me this is common and happens all the time. This has never happened on my car so that did not make the situation better. I had to ask Omar multiple times when will the owner plan on getting here with no updates. Upon Kevin arriving, I ask him, "if this is so common, why don't you all have hoses on hand?." He immediately gives me attitude and tells me that "you people always harass." I say "you people?" with a look of confusion and he immediately asks as if I am bothering him because I ask him why does a customer have to wait an hour and a half for an issue they cause. In the end. He placed the hose but my coolant light is now on. Not only am I filing a claim with the Better Business Bureau but i suggest that you DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. I never felt the slightest tug on taking off my crankcase nut/bolt or any movement of the car at all from underneath nor the top men asking anyone down below to start the change. On top NOTHING was topped off but checked that it was on paperwork. When he put the oil in I never heard one bit of noise of oil being pumped in. I've been coming here for years on my lunch break. The last time I came it was a note that said on break be back in 30 minutes. That was at 12 noon. I couldn't wait because I had to get back to work so I said fine I'll try another day. Then I go again the next week at 12:40 thinking OK they should be off break by now since it's 30 min. On Lunch break back in 30 minutes. I asked the guy who was leaving, is the break 30 minutes or an hour? I just wanna know because I don't want to keep coming and you all on break. He said its 30 minutes but we ran late today so will be open at 1:15pm. Both times customers have left due to the unknown. I was going to get a new filter today because I've been here at least three times and noticed they never asked if I want it changed. I miss the old crew but all good things come to and end. Paid $90 for new oil. Tech finished in 5 minutes. I asked whether they completed all the services listed because it was so quick! They told me they checked everything and the fluids were full. Supposedly, I had a special filter that brought the oil change from $78 to $90. They didn't change the filter- I guess just checked it. Up charge me for a special filter but never touch it??? Clearly, it was too soon to get an oil change. Because they only gave me new oil, which I'm not so sure they did. The ink on the mileage label from the place I normally go to rubbed off after my car was detailed, so I wasn't sure if I reached the 5,000 miles. Less than 5 hours after having an oil change here my car overheated and broke down in another city. The next day I had it towed to my usual mechanic and he found that my radiator was bone dry. While I do have a small crack in my radiator hose he explained that it doesn't leak that fast (I only need to fill it once a week and it drives fine) and that Insta Lube must've forgotten to top off the fluids or to check it even though it's included in the price of the oil change. No biggie right? Mistakes happen and I wasn't mad, but I did want to talk to them about getting a refund. Their response to this is why I'm writing this review today. I called over a span of 6 days and left my number multiple times and never received a callback. Their voicemail isn't set up so I couldn't leave a message and their email address doesn't work either. When I did finally drive by while the owner Kevin was there, he treated me with more disrespect than I could've imagined. He first made an in poor taste joke about women and their purses when I had to look for my car keys, and flat out accused me of lying. He called me "deceitful" and refused to even consider that maybe they just made a mistake. When I asked for their insurance information he refused to give it to me. When I asked for their email address he told me he didn't have to and when I tried to explain that their email and phone weren't fully operational he accused me of lying again even though I showed him the email I tried to sent on my phone. It was apparent he didn't really care about me the customer and had no interest in reading it or hearing what I had to say. When I finally did get him to hear me out a little bit and I explained that this is what I was told by the other mechanic he just asked, "Well why did you come here if you have a mechanic?" The audacity of asking why I choose him in response to a customer complaint is just mind-boggling to me. In truth, I went because it was closer to my house which is a mistake that I won't be making again. They thought they were sly but are using regular oil and selling as synthetic. The jugs are all sealed except the ones they use for customers which are refilled from the cheap bulk regular oil. Quick in and out; they changed my oil, topped off my windshield fluid, and checked off a list of 20 or so other things I wouldn't have even though of, in just ten minutes! Very pro! Only issue I had was I couldn't understand the worker very well, but he was friendly and explained everything, letting me know my engine was in good shape. $35 total; I've changed my own oil and filters before and I'd say the prices about match, so if I'm feeling lazy, this is definitely worth it! read more

Everyone seems to be claiming that this place if quick and efficient, which is a good thing, but in this case it turned out to be a major nightmare. This place is like a drive thru of oil changes, you literally sit in your car and they do everything while you are listening to the radio. When I went here for a standard oil change, they took down my odometer readings, popped the hood, and did some draining and filling. Swiped my credit card for the 27 dollars or so, and drive off. Sounds good right? Thats what I thought, until I realized that after I got home there was a gigantic puddle of oil under my car. I wasn't quite sure what it was and had to bring it to my mechanic to look at. Turns out the people at this Insta Lube was so quick with the service, they didn't exactly tighten some things all the way, so I lost out on some oil and about 60 dollars more for having my car looked at. Okay get in your ride, drive here, pull into the open dock, sit on your butt for a few minutes while the men work their magic. They top off fluids, change the filter, oil it up and put that new reminder sticker on the inside of your windshield. Come during their "early bird" Monday-Friday 8AM-10AM special and they will knock $5.00 off the bill. Yeah it's almost enough for a Starbucks but will get you a burger from 5 Guys. Out of convenience, I come here ever so often because it's right down the street. DO NOT GO HERE!!! My car drove into the lot and was not able to drive out. This is not an exaggeration. I have been in a BBB dispute with them and have not seen my money returned. I went in for an oil change and my check engine light was on. They said they could fix the exhaust system problem that caused the light to go on for a reasonable price. When I came back to pick up my car, it wouldn't start. They asked me to come back an hour later, so I did. When I returned, it started but I did not make it home. I took my car to another mechanic and they explained how the "service" that Insta Lube performed had clogged my fuel system and caused much more damage then what had previously been wrong. Not too great, not too awful. Just as everyone's said, it's super quick! The most I had to wait was in line since it was pretty busy with 3 or 4 cars ahead of me. But once you get to your turn, they finish it up real fast. Their customer service isn't too great. I think we maybe said a total of 10 words to each other the whole time. I mean, I know the whole point is to get the job done and they did but customer service is important too! The place also seems a bit dirty and lightweight sketchy but it is what it is. You don't have to get out of your car so that's not really a bother anyways. To be honest, I mostly go here for the convenience. 10 minutes for an oil change and it's in the area - it just makes everything so easy. Typically, I like to change my oil myself, by why do all the work when you can literally roll in, and be out in ten minutes at a place that is open all the time, with lightning fast service, super friendly, and polite, workers, that know what they are doing when working on cars. Last time I came through was just for a quick oil change, and about two days later, oil light came on in my brother's car. This place is great for oil changes. Open 7 days a week, service is fast and very polite. They do, of course, take credit cards. I take my BMW here, they have the little doohickey that resets the "service engine" / you-are-ready-for-and-oil-change light. If I could put minus stars I would! I have been going here for several years and it has been going more and more downhill the last couple of years. They are quick, but it is because they do not check all that they are suppose to. I told the guy yesterday that I need him to check everything that their receipt says they checked. He argued with me that they only check certain things, I said right, those are the things I need you to check! You are sitting right there in your car and can see everything they are doing. Do they think we are idiots and blind on top of that? Last time they changed the oil, hopefully with the right one, after reading these reviews I now am not so sure. They changed the filter and that was it, when I got home I double checked and nothing was topped off. They just ask you what you would like done, car mileage and to sign a paper with name and number for their records. Knowing a former employee at Insta Lube, I think the first hand accounts of that shop should be told to in order to protect other consumer's vehicles from their sub-par and borderline illegal practices. These are his exact words... One underhanded tactic that this particular employee observed was the advertisement that they used "Chevron Oil" products. This was a lie, the owner filled the "Chevron Oil" drums in the back room with a low standard oil from the company of "North American Lubricants". This oil is far less durable, but was charged at the same price as it's more expensive and superior competitor. See what name is on their supply truck that comes in every Friday. It isn't "Chevron". Another tactic that was used was their "Mobil 1" synthetic oil, for which they charged 63 dollars, was in fact the same "North American Lubricants" recycled synthetic oil pumped into "Mobil 1" containers. Take a look in the back room next time you're there, and see what the label is on the synthetic oil canisters. Take a close look at the "Mobil 1" containers and see that they are open - therefore, reused. Another problem, on the list of many, is the employee's and manager's lack of integrity. Many times when it was busy and they were stressed, mistakes were made and hastily covered up. Be it pumping the wrong oil and not draining it and refilling it with the correct weight that you paid for, or not torquing the drain plug, or tightening or even changing an oil filter. (see other reviews from customers regarding this and how poorly these issues were handled). The fact that the employees exerted more energy into covering these problem up rather than fixing them is appalling. If something doesn't seem right, ASK THEM. You will know right away if there is no problem or if they are leading you on just by the way they answer. Money is all that manager cared about, and he didn't care if you where cheated, inconvenienced or hurt. As long as he saw that there was a profit at the end of the day, he was content. Underhanded practices aside, the fact that he jeopardizes the well being of your vehicle and you is revolting. Do yourselves a favor, find an honest mechanic (yes, there is such a thing) and pay him or her to do it. You may pay a few dollars more, but your vehicle will be safe and will last you a long time. read more

Been coming here for awhile now. Probably 6 or 7 years. I've taken all 3 cars I've had since 2007ish. The a service used to be awesome but plummited. Last time I was here I watched them pump the wrong oil into my car. The service gentlemen tried to lie and say it was 10w30(the needed one) when in fact it was 5w30. They were very reluctant to correct this action. The customer service I have received since then has been poor. As a long term and loyal customer here, I will no longer be returning. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! After getting the oil changed at Insta Lube the oil light is on, the check engine light is on and the temperate light is on and there is oil under the body of the car. The mechanic stated the drain plug was not securely tightened and the coolant was low. The receipt from Insta Lube stated the coolant was checked, however I was not informed it was low. I called Insta Lube to explain what occurred and was told "this is not our fault", and was hung up on. A $35.00 oil change has turned into a nightmare costing an additional $145.00. Bad Service!!!! I've gone here in the past but definitely new set of workers and ownership. Recently had oil changed done and they had to re-do because of BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! As soon as I pulled up, unlike the typical oil places where they ask you about the oil and information, etc. these idiots just take down the mileage then the dude went and started typing in the computer -not telling me what's going on. i'm still waiting in the car and then the person in the front asked I pop my hood and started working on the car. My car is a hybrid & super quiet and these jerks never said to turn the car off. I was waiting and finally had to poke my head out to ask the man out front if my car should be off. He didn't understand much English and just signed to me to turn it off -WOW!!! Then, the dude at computer walked over and said it would be $35. I'm like, huh?? it's over, no questions no info for me to know what u just did...terrible! he finally said they changed the oil, and I asked him that if he knew my car took a differ oil due to hybrid model. The IDIOT stood there and argued with me because I didn't know off the top of my head what type of oil. I told him, "that's your JOB. You're supposed to know what oils go into what type of car!"...Wow, I could not believe this guy continued to argue with me and try to throw back to me the fact that I didn't know what oil they should have used. I finally told him to just ring my sh** up and know that if my car is messed up. I will be back!! As he walked away, he was still mumbling and gripping about what I had just argued with him about. I was absolutely stunned by the lack of customer service and rudeness of this dude. In the end, he yells to the man up front to open my hood. I looked at them like NO. Just finish my transaction so I can leave. He finally walked over, and apologize about how I was right about the oil my car takes. ..OMG!!!! I felt like getting out of my car and punching him in the face! I was too livid to even look at him and just stayed quiet. They ended charging me the FULL charge for the correct oil, which they didn't put in in the first place. Never offering to pay the difference since they messed up by not asking. Wow, I will NEVER go here again. Bad service, bad attitude, and overall no customer service provided for $$$ your paying. We took our car here when a belt broke. They misdiagnosed the problem, took a long time to fix it, and before we were 5 minutes away, the belt had broken again. When we went back, they said they were unable to fix it that day and would not refund our money for the labor, only the part. So, we paid for them to do nothing except waste our time.
