When we purchased a new home, with new appliances, such as a new dishwasher that I did not know how to use, I somehow broke it by pulling too hard on the piece where you put in the soap pod. I just had never used a dishwasher and didn't know how to open it. Needless to say I felt dumb. I called Integrity and James came out, he ordered a new part and then when it came in a couple of days later he came back and installed it. He was so nice, and even showed me how to put the soap in correctly. I honestly had a really great conversation with him. He was courteous and professional and I feel very comfortable giving him 5 stars and inviting him back into my home to fix all of the appliances that need repairs. I asked my usual appliance repair company if they could fix our three-year-old GE dishwasher. They said that they don't work on the newer models and that I should call Integrity Appliance Repair of Santa Barbara because they are local and certified GE repair specialists. So I called Integrity Appliance Repair to setup an appointment. Toward the end of the call I gave the man on the phone what I thought was a compliment. I said: "I like that you are GE certified and not just an independent." He appeared a bit flustered by that which didn't make sense to me since I had just praised his credentials. He finished scheduling the appointment and we ended the call. An hour later I received this text from him: "Hi. I'm not doing the call tomorrow. Like you said 'you're just an independent' very offensive thing to say. I've worked very hard to become an independent servicer. Lots of risk. I'm responsible for myself unlike most people." I was very surprised because that was not what I said, in fact it might be considered the opposite. I was also surprised how unprofessional this text from Integrity Appliance Repair sounded. I texted him back to explain that he had misheard me and that I was complimenting him for being an expert with GE equipment, but he had blocked my phone from texting him. So I called him, and was sent to his voice mail. I left a message to let him know that he had misheard me, and that I was actually praising his credentials, yet never heard back from him. When my oven went out Thanksgiving morning I was directed to integrity appliance repair. After a week had passed I received parts and tried to follow up with them. Via text is the only way he would respond to me. He said he would come out Friday, and I responded if that was the earliest he could come then I would see him then. He responded with reminding me that "today was Wednesday, tomorrow was Thursday, so yes Friday." I can't even express what a terrible business man and what poor service this man provided us. He has the WORST attitude of someone is the service industry. The word integrity means: the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness. He hasn't a clue about what real integrity is, at least as pertains to customer service. My landlady bought a fridge form Best Buy and got the Geek Squad insurance. 2 weeks ago (on 8/31) the fridge stopped working. The landlady called for a service professional to come out. The earliest they could come was 9/6/17. On 9/6/17 the time was supposed to be between 1-3pm. Around 2:30pm we called Best Buy to find out what was going on since we had heard nothing from James. We were on the phone with their insurance service folks for over 45 minutes while we were transferred from one person to another because they kept passing the blame for why we hadn't been contacted. They told us the service company (Integity) never accepted the service call. While we were on the phone, at 3:15pm he showed up. He had an attitude right away saying he was only 15 minutes late and why were we so upset. We had unplugged the fridge but he said it should've been on for at least 24 hours before he could look at it. So he plugged it in and left. He came back the next afternoon and left a note saying he had to order parts. On Friday, the 8th, I called him to ask when we should expect him back. He didn't call me back until Monday afternoon, the 11th. He was very rude and defensive saying that Best Buy was emailing him and leaving him nasty voice mails about his lack of prompt service. I confronted him saying that it sounded like he was blaming for us this. We did not call Best Buy again after 9/6/17. But they obviously felt that he was giving us poor service. I had and Electrolux dryer which was buzzing when turning it on, but would not turn. My installation is a double stack washer dryer in a built in cabinet, so it is a little more difficult as it has to be pulled out to be fixed. I called Integrity Appliance Repair on Tuesday after another repair company who had come on Monday to fix the dryer, and said they would come back on Tuesday, called me back on Tuesday morning, and told me they could not do the work all. When I called Integrity Appliance Repair, and spoke with James, I told him what the symptoms were, and on the phone, he diagnosed my problem as a blower assembly problem. James said he would order a blower assembly, and he should have it by Thursday and he gave me a two hour appointment slot. He arrived on Thursday, pulled the dryer out on two plastic sleds by himself, had completely disassembled within 15 minutes, repaired the blower assembly, and had it put back together was out of there within an hour, and my dryer was working again. I was amazed at how quickly and efficiently he did the repair, as I had thought it would be a long process since it was a complete disassemble including removing the drum, but he did a great job and was a pleasure to work with. He was contracted through Maytag to fix my dryer. The time in which I called Maytag, and my service call was placed, my dryer was fixed in 3 days. I went online to HSA home warranty because my dryer quit drying. It was 4:00 pm. I filled out the form and it said that it was dispatched to Integrity Appliance Repair and gave the phone number. I called and got an answering system. They called back within 5-10 minutes and I asked when they could come out. He said tomorrow 8-10 am. He was at my house at 8:00 am. He said the heating unit was out and he would check to see if he could get it locally, but it would probably need to be ordered which would take a couple of days. He called back at 9:09 am and said the part was available locally and he would come back and finish the dryer if that was OK. My dryer is now fixed at 9:38. I just spent a good part of my morning reading all of Integrity's (James's) reviews. Man you either love him or hate him. It's either 1 star or 5. Really unhappy or elated. I found my earlier review of 2013. It was short but sweet and 5 stars which James richly deserved. I'm beginning to wonder whether James is bipolar. Sometimes he's communicative and helpful and others curt and bordering on surly. Hard to tell which James will show up. It looks like the 5 stars outweighs the 1 stars. I'm still staying with 1 star on this one. All I asked for is a little communication and I basically got cut loose and told (non-verbally) to go pound sand!!! Ultimately it cost me this consternation and a few days I could have had the compressor ordered. I called Manny whom Kyle from Midway recommended. Manny sent Alex to diagnose from I think Mission Appliance repair (rest assured I will review them). He was very good. New compressor ordered and promised installed and working Tuesday (5 days)! If I could give 0 stars I would. Because they are an authorized GE Repair facility and we had a type of recall work being done, we were forced to use Integrity Applicance Repair out of Santa Barbara. GE set up the appt. The first time the technician came out he could not have been more rude. He came and went in less than 5 minutes. He seemed ok knowing our dishwasher was out of warranty, but couldn't get out the door fast enough after I told him the svc call and work would be paid for by GE. I tried to find when he would be back and he said something about a week or two to get parts and was very snotty about letting me know they 'weren't just sitting around' at his shop. The second time they were supposed to show up was today. I finally called GE to find out when the parts, which were shipped directly to us, could be installed and requested that Integrity NOT be the installer, but GE said it would be ok, that they would just request a dif tech. With that, GE called them and Integrity accepted the appt. Well, after being blown off, I found out from GE about 30 min after the 8-Noon window there was a msg that Integrity had called and they couldn't make it. Again, just so unbelievably rude. GE is not completely innocent here. It turns out there were other GE authorized servicers in the area they could have called from the beginning. Today they did and I got an appt right away with A&E Factory Svc. I think they are in TO. If in Ventura and need an authorized GE repair facility, you may want to tell GE you want A&E Factory Svc instead of Integrity. I don't think Integrity likes coming all the way from SB, but that doesn't explain accepting the appt in the first place, and then accepting ANOTHER appt just to blow it off. Not just rude, but intentionally rude. Just checked BBB and saw they have an F rating due to past complaints. Does GE know this? Do they care? read more

I read some of the negative reviews here and just wanted to say that we had a very positive experience with James. He returned our calls promptly, diagnosed the problem, ordered the needed parts, and called us and made the repair when the parts came. I'm an engineer and watched James do the repair. He was efficient and there was no wasted effort. One commenter said he had no integrity. I want to say he definitely has integrity and takes pride in his work. I have a feeling that people may have become frustrated with the time it took to get parts during the COVID pandemic and took it out on James. Okay so maybe he did not call you when the parts took a long time to get in. Good repairmen like James are busy and may not want to work with a person who is not understanding, impatient, and disrespecting. Good for you James tell them to go somewhere else. read more
