This was my old stomping grounds back in the days when processors were all about the Mhz clock speed. Well times has changed but the food hasn't much. The cafeteria had a major facelift but the food hasn't improved much at all. The price for lunch is somewhere in the neighborhood of about $7-$9 but there are lots of better options offsite. Most people eat here when they have lunch meetings, don't wanna give up their parking spot, or when you scored a lunch ticket for free. The staples are the grill, sandwich shop, pizza, salad, and the taco bar. Hasn't changed much since Andy Grove was the CEO except that the fountain beverages and infused water is now free. The other thing that has changed with the times are ordering your food and paying for them at the kiosks which makes it very confusing if you are just a guest. You'll wait in line for food only to find out that people in front of you has placed orders and you haven't. Intel is a great company. As a matter of fact, their motto is "great place to work", but I feel there is room for improvement in the food category. Some people eat to satisfy their hunger. If you're reading this, that means you're a Yelper and probably have a much higher expectation for food. You won't find that great food here---better see if Linked In, Facebook, or Google is hiring otherwise head over to Rivermark for better eats. read more

Although the food in the Intel cafe isn't free, the prices are low enough that I don't feel totally ripped off. You can get a hot breakfast, including bacon or sausage and eggs cooked the way you like them, for under $4. For lunch, the prices range from about $3 to $8, but most of the entrees are around $6. The salad bar is pretty standard, with a decent selection of protein besides grilled chicken. There's usually a few types of beans and cruciferous, and sometimes they have salmon or turkey. I've liked everything I've ever gotten from the carving station. The Mediterranean plate and the Mexican station (they do a better job cooking the chicken and the pork than the steak) are pretty safe bets, but the buffet station is a little iffy. By later in the lunch hour, you can really tell the food's been sitting there for awhile, and you can start to see pools of grease. read more

Came by for lunch the other day and the Cafe was surprisingly poor in terms of quality. The cafe is run by Bon Appetit Management Company. My understanding is that Bon Appetit tends to promote farm to fork...I guess not here?!? Came by during the lunch rush and the line was long....10-15 minutes long. Ordered the daily special with fish, onion rings, and steamed vegetables and it left a lot to be desired... ...the fish was overcooked and dry...wasn't fresh at all... The onion rings were burnt and seemed frozen?!? ...the steamed vegetables seemed to have been sitting out for too long as they didn't taste fresh... ...aye aye aye... read more

Alright if I have to review the Intel Cafe as a whole from sc12 and RNB, both cafes are different and it is night and day. Okay lets start off with the bad cafe sc12 which is where I mainly eat. SC12 the bad thing is well pretty much there is no automated machines yet where you can order your food on the machine. The dish washing machine well it has been out of order for the last 6 months I would say and the poor guy comes in and has to manually get everyone dishes and there is a sign that says under maintenance, but not so sure anyone is there to fix it. I guess it is probably low priority since sc12 is getting a face lift with the renovation. So the service is pretty bad in sc12 and the prices are 45 an ounce now so a nickel difference. One thing really bad is all the food is priced by weight, not a fan of but I guess it is the easiest. The salad can come up easily to $8 dollars and that point you are better off going to Sweet Tomatoes. Anyways RNB they renovated it and got the love it deserved as there is automated machines to take your order. I do not like that they do nickel and dime you on the nachos as the queso is a $1.50 extra when it should be included and nachos can be expensive overall now once I think about it. I wish it was just a set price, so pretty much I compare the order to Spirit vs. Southwest airlines. So what I like about most, the food trucks there as the prices are not that bad and the service is awesome and believe it or not have the best value especially the BBQ section as you get a 3 meat platter and 2 sides for $10 dollars and it is quite a bit to fill you up. read more

Cafe is accessable for employees only and their guests. As previously mentioned - limited variety. They have salad bar, sauté bar, pizza bar (which has pizza for under $2, and calzone with meat for $4), soups bar (typically there would be 3 different soups, however you may not want any of them - it's either a lot of peas and ham or big chunks of chicken meet and noodles.) Then we get the grill, they have variety of fish, salads, grilled chicken with sides. Next up is Mexican grill, which serves limited plates like tacos, burritos, nachos, taco salad. And finally sushi bar once a week, I'd recommend going out for sushi rather then order there, pay more and get less. Over it is ok, but if you are staying a lot of times in the office you get so sick of the fooood! It is better to have this cafe then nothing, but I think it could be better. read more

Very nice cafeteria with healthy options and different stations. Food is not free and not mega cheap (although every time I go i get invited thanks to my many friends working there!) but I really like that they are so generous with the portions. Everything is super clean, staff is very friendly and fast and all well organized. This is a nicely run cafeteria well designed so people can circulate comfortably. read more

I had a tasty dragon roll from the sushi station for lunch. The tempura was done well (not greasy) and there was a nice balance of flavors. It came with a handful of edamame. Price ($10) as expected for the area. I was impressed with the variety of food available: from ethnic cuisine to ribs & comfort food. Much of it is priced by weight, including a well-stocked salad bar. Free fruit (apples, oranges, bananas, pears) and spa water are very nice perks! The only problem I had was that much of the seating is outside, which meant big double doors opening constantly. I got quite chilly with the drafts. read more

This is the corporate caf inside of Intel's headquarters in Santa Clara, CA. It is closed to the general public. And that's a good thing, because the food is unchanging and pathetic. No variety (to speak of), bland flavor, high prices, and poor policy. They charged my co-worker for a tiny plastic cup of salsa for his pinini. IT WAS A PLASTIC DRESSING CUP OF SALSA - GIVE IT TO THE KID - don;t punish him for wanting flavor in his food!!! Anyway, avoid this place if you can. The people are nice, but the food os nothing to e-mail the boss about. read more

This is the best Intel cafe in the system. Fresh greens, great taco bar with delicious carne asada, tons of other options including a giant breakfast menu with custom smoothie bar, and grab-and-go salads/sandwiches...there is even an espresso bar around the corner with pastries and MORE grab-and-go! PLUS the food carts outside. Great seating areas inside and outside, it's clean, everything's new, there are tons of cafe workers and the lines move really fast. Plus the free fruit is of good quality. Prices are reasonable. read more

My dad works at Intel, so I have eaten here at least 20 times in my life. The intel food is a good variety, and they make a big effort to keep you nutritionally informed. They tell you what to eat regularly and what should be more of an occasional treat. This is good for making smart decisions. The variety is great from pizza to Indian food to sandwiches. The price is a bit high bot dad always paid so no worries. A nice venue with a smart and techie crowd, not a bad venue. read more

The cafe is open to employees and invited guests who clear security. The cafe looks very good, bright, cheery, but the food is overpriced. Why Intel can't subsidize the cafeteria like Adobe, Cisco, Oracle and other high tech companies is beyond me. They have a nice salad section with tofu and produce that is generally fresh. Also have a mexican section - where you can have burritos, tacos, tostada's, etc. This is a nice change. They have a pizza corner where you can order a slice of pizza, cheese breadstick, or a personal sized pizza, sometimes they have macaroni and cheese. Then you have panini section, where it does taste good, but you still feel hungry afterwards. The soups are sometimes good, I like Spinach and Broccoli. Next you have stir fry section (noodles, rice, broccoli, bell peppers, mushroom, tofu) and the grill (burgers/ fries, etc). They occasionally have Indian food, but is overpriced and they never get the lentils right. The layout is quite nice, seating can be a problem near noon when the rush hour hits. The soft drinks, coffee and tea are free, but who needs the sugar and calories, right. Just wish they had fresh fruit juices for free. read more

I don't find much a variety of foods here. But the Mexican and grilled foods are very nice.after having Indian food for some days, I felt bored of chicken curry.I prefer Indian food on Fridays as they have special Indian curry. Once I had awesome south Indian food-idli and bisbelabath(sambar rice). Waiting for it for long time ..I find very limited choice for breakfast. More over I like free drinks and fruits :P read more

This is the second time I've seen employees cleaning the glass above OPEN CONTAINERS of pre-made breakfast food. Unless you like cleaning chemicals in your eggs, I'd avoid this place. Well I work at Intel, so there is not much choice for convenient lunch. I will say this is not the best tasting food or even best cafe due to the crowding during lunchtime. However, I really like the people here. The cooks are friendly, and they even try to remember your orders if you become a regular. As much as I don't like the crowding, I enjoy running into friends and colleagues during lunch time and eat with different people every day. For me, this is home away from home :). read more

I love the Intel cafe! I don't work here, but know people who do... when they want me to have lunch with them and escort me into the building I am happy! I have only worked at places with either no cafe or a really small and crappy one. There are so many choices at this cafe, AND they place an emphasis on having fresh and healthy ingredients. I have so far been poisoned 5 or 6 times. 3 times in the past 2 months since June 2016. 3 times before were food allergies. This place caused me to become very ill with vomiting diarhhea and also possibly a lung infection. The staff is great but this place is a vector for diseases only worthy of the worst taco truck possible. I am even afraid to get a drink from the soda fountain. CDC and Board or heath please audit this place and shut it down!! read more

This is for the SC12 cafe--edible, but definitely gone down hill. I used to always go to the "Bowl" station and choose a chicken terriyaki dish. Then they changed it to be the same food for everyone, changing the dish every day. Okay, I can live with that...but then they started pre-cooking it and letting it sit under a hot light until you get it. It's gross. It loses it's flavor. Oh, and sometimes they have meatloaf. Mind you, this is the "Bowl" station. I'm unfortunately picky and it's now to the point where I can't guarantee that there will be something I'll like in the cafe anymore. read more

There is loads to choose from. Fresh sandwiches are always available, plus there are always at least two entrees at lunch time - option of meat or vegetarian. Mexican food and Chinese are great. Breakfast time is the best with wheat pancakes and the eggs are cooked right in front of you. I wouldn't recommend getting chicken for your salad, as that will definitely boost the price by a lot but over all very reasonable prices. Also, try and skip the pizza. read more
