If you do not have a campus parking pass, make sure you check the website to get your free semester pass to eat here! If you forget your pass, ask the cashier and they have extras. Totally cafeteria style. The price is very fair, your meal includes, soup, salad, bread, entree, side, dessert, and drinks. I wish the food was warmer, it was kind of just room temp. My crab crostini didn't have any green onions on them but everyone else who ordered them had some, they kind of just gave me my dish right away since they were behind a bit. Small detail but worth mentioning. The star dish was the salad and dressing!! Very fresh fruits and veggies and the dressing was delicious. I will probably keep an eye on the menu and stop by if something catches my attention

Great food, super affordable, great service.. did I mention the great food? I tried it out last Tuesday after class and let me tell you, I was blown away by the menu, the service, the professionalism, the enthusiasm of the students (kitchen crew), and the yummy-ness of the food. I got the manager's special.. a side of Spanish rice, 2 chicken tamales, black beans, a side salad w/ chipotle dressing (super good!!!!), and corn soup.. forgot the actual name of the soup for just $6!!! I will definitely come back here once a week to support the program that I'm in but it's not just that, the food is awesome and restaurant-quality like even though we are students on the learning journey of Hospitality! Though the guy is aware I'm a student there but that did not mean he did his job half-ass.. he treated me just like a customer and that's what got to me. It accepts only cash so that's a drawback for me.

I absolutely love this place and have been coming here, on and off, for over 10 years. The food is freshly prepared and is usually quite good. The dining room is clean and spacious, and the staff is polite and helpful. It's a student run cafe, so don't expect everything to be perfect. But for $8-12 (which includes the main dish, soup, salad, bread, dessert and drinks) it's a great deal. There is always a vegetarian option, and the sides (soup, salad) are also often vegetarian. Plus the students (as well as their instructors) take great pride in their craft. Plan on going early, since the popular items sell out fast. So go there and enjoy a great meal - and do tip the hard working students generously!

I just spoke with the instructor, Mr. Hayes, regarding the cafe this semester, and he informed me that there have been some changes. It is now called Mission Cafe, rather than Owl Cove Cafe, and they have had problems with their email system, so many of us who are on the email lists have not received anything from them. They have been open since February, and will be serving until May 17th. They only serve Tuesdays and Thursdays, but have extended their hours this semester. It is the restaurant-style of serving food this time, rather than last Fall's method of cafeteria-style. Prices and choices are more a la carte, rather than the fixed pricing of last Fall. I plan to have lunch tomorrow or Thursday, so I can provide an update to the food and service.

The special for 4/16/15. Note the hours - they open at 11:30 am.

They were attentive and made sure our water glasses were always full. The interior is beautiful with all of the plants. Their goat empanadas are popular for a reason, the aroma was amazing when it was served to our table. I really enjoyed it as an appetizer and the sauce paired well. The sautéed green beans with fish sauce aioli were umami heaven. It was just as delicious as I remembered, when I visited Girl & The Goat in Chicago a few years ago. The sticky pork shank was tender and fell right off the bone. I made lettuce wraps with the pork, pickled veggies, and sauces provided - wow, everything tasted so delicious! We also ordered the skirt steak to share, which was good, but a bit chewy. I definitely recommend getting the pork shank. Overall, Valley Goat has unique and tasty dishes that I don't think I can find elsewhere around South Bay. Thought that was kinda weird to do for a children's burger but the kids all ate their meals. I actually didn't see the pink of her burger until she was done and had already eaten about 3/4ths of it. The fries were actually the best part. I had the nachos and the chips def needed salt. I ate about half because I was starving but they would've been better with more beans and sauce as it was still quite bland. The nachos look better than they tasted that's for sure. Atmosphere 5/5 - This was the best place for hanging out with friends and it had plenty for the kids to run off and do. Jenga, hoola hoops, corn hole Service 2/5 - We waited a really long time to get someone to take our order and then another 20 mins or so for the check when we were done. And they knew we were done because the waiter came and took half our plates when we were finished. The place was practically dead so I don't know what the hold up was. I'm sure this place gets packed when there's events going on. The food and prices were not my favorite. I don't live nearby so I obviously wouldn't make the trip back out just to eat here again. The only thing note worthy was the atmosphere since the kids had a blast hanging out with their friends.

The restaurant is pretty small inside, and has 2 seating times: 530 and 8. It's a prix fixe menu but you also have some options to add to it. Larb Bibim Guksu: cold noodle dish that had szechuan ground lamb , shiso, and heirloom tomatoes - made for such a refreshing start to the meal. Fishcake tom yum: This was my absolute favorite dish. The cabbage wrapped fish was tender and juicy and the broth was so incredibly flavorful. I loved this dish, no notes Pork jowl: The pork was good, but I think compared to the other dishes on the menu, the least inventive and new. Solid dish but creativity wise I wasn't particularly sold. Ecuadorian shrimp (add on): I love some shrimp! the red curry sauce on these shrimp was super yum and it was nice that they gave you a small finger towel/wipe for afterwards Pandan Coconut Bingsu: This was an amazing dessert!!!! I am not a dessert person whatsoever but this really did it. There was a pandan bingsu (v finely shaved ice) with coconut foam on top. There was red bean also at the bottom center of the ice. The dish felt incredibly balanced and light. Every bite felt like a cloud that disappeared on your tongue. 10/10 dessert Overall it was a great experience and I'm incredibly happy with the creativity of the menu and the execution. Would love to come back to try another menu :)

I think because the customers are mostly hotel guests, service is not so emphasized. They just leave the customers on their own; I see that there's either the alone business travel customer who ate with ear buds on and scrolling the phone, or a group who sat and chat with no server interruptions. We started with the bar tender and after we decided to sit down in a separate area to eat, our bar tender only came over to take our order and then since we only had ordered water for drinks, he asked if we wanted to have a tap open. When we said no, he just closed the tap and gave us the bill before our food arrived. The menu has a few categories to suit people eating at different times. I like the Pan Fried Red Fish which came on a bed of white rice and bak choy soaked in some mild curry sauce. The Wagyu Burger came with some interesting purple bread but my friend said it wasn't good at all as the beef patty was not juicy that it didn't seem like it's wagyu. We did not try the cocktails as they seemed pricey at over 20 bucks for a glass.

I've been to this Marriott three years in a row for a wonderful convention, and I've found it…read moreoverall very nice. The staff are lovely and the convention rooms are great. This review is just about my experience at Bosc & Bartlett this July. Since I was at the hotel for a convention, I knew there would be a volume of people eating lunch at the same time. I felt like the staff were completely ill-equipped to deal with the number of people, with only two of them working the bar and dining area. I could probably suggest even having a third person or having a system where you can order and pay on an app would help this out a lot. It didn't seem possible for these two people to serve all the tables. I usually don't try to single someone out as not being a great server, but the male waiter seemed poorly trained. When you bring someone their food, you can bring utensils at the same time. Even if someone is eating a sandwich, they probably want a napkin with it. I had to ask several times to get utensils. What I got was plastic utensils, which broke halfway through my trying to eat my salad. Really not adequate for the food provided. But when I asked the waiter if I could have another fork, he said "in a minute" without looking up at me, and never got back to me, so I struggled on with a half-fork. If they had either real utensils for those eating salad or utensils out so people could grab them, that would solve this problem. The food was good enough, though I would have liked more dressing on my salad and the sauce that was supposed to come with the fries (or even an offer of ketchup), but it's not like anyone came back to check on how I was doing. I flagged down the woman behind the bar to pay because I was in a hurry. Everything took a very long time - which I know happens sometimes. Though I would think if you are serving a group convention, you can figure that some of the attendees would want to have lunch and have more staff for that time period!

I thought some dishes were great; the wagyu burger was decadent. Other dishes were not that special. The scallops didn't taste too fresh (likely frozen) and combining them with hummus didn't quite work. The side of bread was practically insulting. $5 for stale table bread was a surprise. Dishes arrived very late; we were nearly forgotten when we tried to order, and then after ordering, we waited 40 minutes between appetizers and the main course. Not because they were cooking it; they just forgot we were there and when they brought out the dishes, the scallops were no longer just-cooked, and the burger had been sitting for a bit. No apology, just an acknowledgment it was late, and no discount (not even on the stale bread). They offered us wine, we said we didn't drink, and they just moved on. I debated a lot about how to review this. It's my personal experience that was disappointing, and I'm glad some reviews are very upbeat.
