I ordered the oat milk matcha, and unfortunately, it was the worst matcha I've ever had. It lacked the rich flavor and vibrant color that I expect from a quality matcha. The color was a very light green, which made it seem weak and watered down. I've had much better ceremonial grade matcha elsewhere. The LA Times features Intelligentsia on their "This Must Be Silver Lake" guide and I was soooo excited for it but ultimately left a little disappointed. I got the smoked maple latte, which was not very strong in the coffee or maple directions. The coffee did have light chocolate notes, but it was very light -- tasted like sweet milk. The guide said their coffee was strong ;-; I appreciate how they do not charge extra for almond or oat milk even though I opted to whole milk in the end, and the interior is very cute. The aroma and smoothness of the coffee was delicious. The maple syrup was present but not overpoweringly sweet and the smoked salt added that savory punch which complimented the espresso very well. A top crafted latte/new favorite of mine for sure. There was a fair amount of seating both inside and outside. Decided to chat, sip on our coffee, and enjoy the beautiful california weather. I really do love this place. The music is usually nice, the place is clean, the people are kind. The coffee tastes amazing! I'm happy they stay open later compared to some places. It's cozy, comfy, good WiFi... you can be productive here and work on a school or projects. My favorite observation: the flower arrangements are real and fresh, and adds an entirely vibrant touch to the bathroom and spaces (keeping it feeling clean and pleasant). Downside... when they close at 6pm but start putting up the chairs at 5:10pm... it really is unfair because it automatically makes my brain go, "time to pack up they want to go home now"... please wait until 5:45 at least to start putting the chairs up. read more

It used to be so good here. Ever since it was bought out, quality and vibe has been diminishing: they used to use organic Strauss milk but now have cheaper it to Knudsen's which is not organic. Gone are the pourovers in favor of cheap and "efficient" aeropress. Gone are the rich wood tables in favorite of chintzy cheap tables that look like everywhere else. Sad. I didn't say anything since it wasn't a huge deal but I thought it was weird the barista didn't say anything. Then I was looking to order food but the employee said there was none but I later saw there was food underneath the counter so I got back in line to order the chia pudding - just thought it was odd they didn't mention it earlier. Had a meeting with a co worker here the menu was a bit simple but overall very good experience. I did which they had more indoor seating and a larger variety of lattes. Definitely a good Day for some caffeine off Sunset Blvd just a skip down from its intersection of Sanborn Ave. My fourth maybe even fifth time at this location and I'm just getting around to sharing my love for this popular beverage haunt. An open air Spanish style building with a walk up lofty patio with tons of built in benches and tables as well as plenty of chairs and tables that fill up fast, but not forever. Amazing health and safety procedures including table upkeep between customers, a steady line flow with minimal waiting and sanitizer. The prices are in that sweet $4 and up range depending on what you seek. This plant-based boy definitely knows to expect a buck more for his speciality drinks.... Sigh... They're always worth the extra 100 pennies. Enjoy coffee, croissants, cookies or whatever your coffee bar/ Cafe goer heart wants. Aside from the usual, they also have some nice merch, fresh bags of coffee blends and pre-packaged things for sale. My personal favorite must are the cold brew, oat milk latte and vegan brownie cookie! Parking in the area is manageable, but if you're local it's a quick stroll and even public transport is super easy with stops on both sides of the street and just a minute down if that. I really don't like giving one-star reviews, but there really isn't much credit I can give here. To start, it's a pretty small place, so there isn't much seating. We had to take our drinks somewhere else. Many tables were occupied by people using their laptops, but I'm not sure how they could get work done as it wasn't well lit inside and quite loud haha. Additionally, I ordered a peach jasmine green tea via a QR code, and they had to track me down to let me know they were sold out and I'd have to switch to another drink. They ended up being sold out of all green tea, so I got a black tea and it was just like the tea I could make from a tea bag at home. To top it all off, the prices are just too high, so it definitely wasn't worth it. Additionally, they wrote my friend's name in bright orange marker on her drink. It would have been cute for the aesthetic, except it immediately smudged from the condensation from the drink and stained her clothes. :( There just wasn't anything good about the experience here, so unfortunately I will have to leave a low review. read more
