Came around 11:30am on a Saturday and lucked out with an outdoor table. Seating is pretty limited since it's a small café, so timing helps. Cold brew was smooth and rich. I somehow missed all the fun, fancy iced drinks on the first pass, so I'll definitely be back to try those. Food is minimal, but they do have a breakfast burrito. Couplet Coffee is a small coffee shop with an interesting interior colorful design located in the edge of Echo Park on Temple Street. They have a minimalist coffee and pastry selection with some specialty drinks. Similarly, they offer breakfast for those who crave a nice meal. Staff were competent. Service was lovely. Prices seem bloody expensive for the coffee size they offer. I had a Hot Flat White (8oz) which cost $7. Blimey! Overall, this coffee shop has good coffee. I took my friend here on a Sunday morning before going shopping in Downtown. I had seen Couplet online before and since it was nearby, we decided to stop in. Parking here is fairly simple; there is free street parking right by couplet as well as the street behind Couplet (where I parked), as well as the street before Couplet. The staff inside were very sweet and nice and the decor of this shop is really cute. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available and seems like a very nice place to sit and have a drink in. Banana Matcha Latte 4/5, this was a really interesting banana matcha experience for me. I was expecting more of a banana pudding matcha but this was definitely a banana bread matcha latte. The top included a dash of cinnamon and nuts (allergy prone individuals please be aware) and the drink was good but definitely not what I was expecting so this was a fun surprise! read more

Checked out this shop since it's fairly newish in the neighborhood. Ordered 2 cafe de olla drinks with cream top + extra shots of espresso. TBH I didn't expect to pay $21 for this lol. I came here after seeing a TikTok review. I especially came for their Banana Matcha which unfortunately they were out of (I came around 1pm). The barista was very helpful though and recommended the Double Matcha Strawberry Dream. I'm so glad I listened to their advice because it was SO GOOD. I was a little hesitant cuz I saw some mixed reviews for their matcha and I've tried a lot of good matchas so I'm a bit picky, but to my fellow matcha lovers: GET THIS. It's creamy and sweet, but not too sweet. I feel like a lot of strawberry matchas have a strawberry flavor that's overwhelming and you can barely taste the matcha, but for this one, the strawberry flavor is subtle. The matcha flavor and quality definitely shine through. I also so so so appreciated that the drink wasn't half ice. It was cold, but not icy. I don't think there was actually any ice in the drink so it didn't get watered down. This drink is definitely a special little treat though cuz it's $8.50 ($9.31 with tax). I wanted to gasp a little when I saw the total, but that's LA prices for ya. The aesthetic is funky and colorful. There's only a table or two for indoor seating but about 6 other tables outside. Not a great place to study or work since you can't really use outlets and the music is a tad loud but it's a vibe to hangout and chill. It's located in Echo Park with other coffee shops and a few restaurants walking distance. Not the best location (hard to find parking), but the shop itself is cute. Loved the matcha and definitely wanna come back to try their banana matcha drink. read more

It is a bit on the pricier side, but I think it's definitely worth a try! Visited Couplet around lunchtime on a Sunday! There was a line of about 6-7 people but it moved pretty quickly. Loved the bright colors and fun art on the walls, and the menu itself was also really cute. Even the bathroom was a pleasure to visit! Items ordered: Banana matcha: even as someone who doesn't love bananas, I loved this drinks! The matcha flavor was strong (though Couplet's IG did make a post recently that they upped the amount of matcha in their matcha drinks), and the banana flavor was subtle and not too sweet. Tuna melt: hit the spot - the cuban bread was grilled perfectly and the tuna + cheese was gooey and done just right. Loved that it came with pickles and a bag of chips. Banana muffin: solid muffin, nice and moist. Finding parking definitely took a while, but we finally found a spot on a residential spot after circling for a bit. There were a couple tables inside and many more outside. The baristas are super chill, matcha was good for my antioxidant. By the time, I went down there, there's a still Mars retrograde and my mode is low. Though, they lit me up. Look up those Alice in the wonderland decoration. Its make my problems forget a bit. I wish they could play Indila's Dernière Danse. If they did, pls sit outside where tables and chairs on the street like Parisian culture, allowing cafe patrons to observe the outdoor. Give yourself sits a lone at cafe, when you sip the coffee there's any thoughts rather than enjoy voyaging into what is on the street of Echo park. This place is cuuuuuuute! I love that they took over the precious Blume & Plume spot.. still supporting a local spot is always the best!! The 3 gals in front of me got iced matcha drinks so I did too.. I wanted coffee but the menu wasn't visible until you got to the cashier. Which... for me, an anxious person, isn't ideal. So I panicked and got what they got. Maybe next time I'll be brave and take a minute to decide. On a sunny day I imagine this place will be packed as there's the cutest 'patio' set up just off the sidewalk. Can't wait for them to open completely! And bonus points: they ch ave the cutest merch!! One of the most fun design I've seen carried by a coffee shop! Cute and colorful characters all over the walls with catchy icons at different corners. Being relatively new and conceptually peculiar, not a surprise how much it attracts the crowd. Long line overflowing beyond the entrance door in the weekend, and do expect bit of wait to get your orders ready. They're out of almost all pastries by noon so I ended up only having the drink. I opted for their Banana and Cream Matcha, one of the top signature drinks, as I was intrigued by the fact that most other people ordering the same. Getting my order, I was so impressed by the extremely cute cup design, which also featured my name, making it feel so personal. The matcha was decent despite I preferred it to be slightly bolder. The cream tasted light and nicely not overpowering, besides the dried banana chips on top added extra happiness to the drink. It's also not overly sweet despite featuring honey and housemade syrup. Couplet Coffee is a new coffee shop in historic filipino town area that is very colorful, has kind staff, and serves fun matcha and coffee drinks. I ordered the Banana Chai Matcha drink, and it did live up to its name. I think for my personal preference, I wanted it to be a bit creamier? I enjoyed it though. There's lots of outdoor seating and some indoor seating. The ambiance was a little loud but I went on a weekend, so I'm not sure how it would be on a weekday for working/studying. The outdoor seating wasn't super comfy but I liked that there was a good amount of seating. The wait for my drink took some time, but nothing unreasonable.
