Took my dogs for a walk along the LA River and decided to stop by La Colombe for a quick pick-me-up--and I'm really glad I did. Service was very friendly The shop was super clean, had a great vibe, and was dog-friendly, which is always a huge plus for me. They had a display of pastries that looked amazing--I tried to stay strong and stick to my diet, but wow, it was definitely tempting. I ordered a cold brew iced coffee, and it was exactly what I needed--smooth, refreshing, and made quickly. Perfect little stop during a walk. This is part two of our outing . Check out my post on the Photo Booth museum by photomatica on Hyperion and sunset. After our trip to the Photo Booth we saw this coffee shop across the street. I have heard of how good this coffee shop is and luckily we were close by to see for ourselves. The baristas were nice and informative and helpful with the menu. This place is in a cool strip of interesting shops all around. And can make a day of that alone but the coffee shop had nice vibes as well. We hung out and enjoyed our drinks inside that had plenty of space along with the upper level sitting area. The coffees were delicious . Parking is a little tricky out front on the Main Street but still able to get a space. Thumbs up to this place! read more

Outdoor seating at the front before you enter. One restroom available inside to use right past the self-serve water station. Front area seems a bit more chaotic and is a sit and go area. But I think their back area has seating where it's more conducive for working and reading...you know, if you manage to find parking in the area. Ordered a drink here because we needed to use a restroom and always feel bad just crashing for that. I normally would order their coffee but i have to watch my caffeine intake so ordered a small iced vanilla matcha. I think it was $7.50 - the average price around town. Upon getting the drink, I was disappointed that the vanilla syrup wasn't mixed. Typically, the matcha is poured over the top so milk and matcha is separate but the sweetener is typically mixed into the drink. Then, came the taste test...and TBH, it was just okay. I'm no matcha snob but it was mediocre...and really, my fault. La Colombe is known for their coffee, not their matcha. However, it was the best $7.50 we spent being able to use their restroom and having found seats outside, we were able to sit and enjoy our bagel sandwiches from Yeastie Boys, pretty much right outside by La Colombe on Sunset. read more

Go early, this modern roaster café closes up at 5pm. Be forewarned, it's not a linger all day spot despite a splt-level layout with wall bar seating, a few small and large tables in both sections. However, the upper level is ambient temperature since it's open to the street. Hence, on a 90° muggy day you'll stew in your own juices. However, it's about the coffee and service, and that's why I am giving this WEHO/Silverlake shop 5*. Triple cold brew latte with pumpkin is the current seasonal option. I took the suggestion from the barista and couldn't be happier. In case you're wondering, no, it's not sickly sweet or dominated by baking spices like that one chain. If anything, it is perfect for the weather conditions, and reasonably priced. Support those independent shops and roasters! read more

Sadly disappointed. I've gone out of my way to visit this location and have always enjoyed supporting it. Unfortunately, today's experience changed that. The employee in the black shirt and glasses who is often working mornings disregarded me when I attempted to place my order at the register, and it's not the first time this has happened. While waiting, I observed him forcefully set down my pastry on the counter before serving another customer. When he finally acknowledged me, I was informed that the pastry was actually mine. What made the experience even more disappointing was that it was the s'mores pastry I had been eager to try instead of the ham and cheese croissant I normally order. By the time I was told it was mine, it appeared overheated, crushed, and unappetizing. When I questioned the situation, another employee wearing a beanie stepped in and offered an explanation that did not match what I had personally observed. The entire interaction left me feeling dismissed rather than listened to. A refund was offered, but by that point the issue wasn't the money--it was the lack of accountability and customer service. Mistakes happen, but how they're handled matters. As a member of the community, I expected better. Unfortunately, I won't be returning. read more

I met up with a friend at La Colombe on Sunset a few weeks back. It had been a while, and the little street-side patio was a great place to catch up. Parking in Sunset Junction is often kind of annoying, but it was a quiet stretch of a Thursday afternoon and I found a spot right away. I did not, however, figure out how to work the new app/machine and am not totally sure I paid the meter. No ticket, no problem, I guess. The shop was pleasant and attractive, brick walls and high ceilings with a definite Silver Lake aesthetic. Service was good, friendly and quick. I ordered an ice latte and received it right away. My friend is a writer who spends a lot of time at this coffee shop, and he asked me what kind of milk I got in my latte. I said whole milk--I'm not an everyday coffee drinker, so why fuck around? Whole milk is delicious. He told me he once sat in La Colombe and tallied customers' milk orders and oat milk was by far the most popular, with the shop going through some colossal amount of it every day. My latte was excellent, perfect for a hot afternoon. The patio was a really nice, relaxing place to hang out. I even met a cool new person, a used bookstore owner who knew my friend. La Colombe seems like an ideal neighborhood coffee shop, where you can work and socialize and enjoy a caffeinated beverage with the milk of your choice. read more

This La Colombe branch is located on Sunset Boulevard, and it's a solid cafe! It's a great spot for reading or working as they offer ample seating (including an area on an upper floor). They offer brewed coffee and espresso-based drinks, and I've found the coffee to be consistently good. Service is efficient, and during my last visit I thought the employee taking my order was quite personable! They do offer pastries for snacking, and because of its location you're near various shops and restaurants if you want to do some neighborhood exploring. read more

Came to La colombe to try out the silver lake location and this is the worst coffee and service. I ordered a triple shot vanilla and I went to the bathroom after I placed my order. I came back to a few drinks on the table and I pointed at one of them and asked the girl with the red hair and glasses putting out the drinks if its the triple iced vanilla and she just looks at it, shrugs her shoulders with her arms up, and says "I believe so?" Without asking anyone to confirm. What is it with these snobby shops? Coffee sucked too threw it away after a few sips. Save your time, energy, and money and go somewhere else. read more

Consistently good, from the NY location to LA. The iced coffee with whole milk hit the spot perfectly. They used the Nizza blend which I've never tried before but it was divine (I use the Brazil Belleza for home brew) Helpful and friendly barista gave recommendations on their oat milk draft latte (must be a requirement by the company) and a sample of it which was ok. I still prefer the good ol' espresso shots. FREE: A MUST try is their carbonated water on tap. This was so refreshing and delicious I would stop by just to have a cup of this. read more

I didn't know La Colombe had a coffee shop until today while I was in the area for business and spotted the sign. The building is so beautiful with brick walls and greenery, the outdoor seating area is very cute, there is some indoor seating as well. The wood tables and chairs add a lot of character to the place. Their cold brew was delicious without any aftertaste or high acidity. They have variety of drinks including specials. They also sell canned coffee in case you want some to go. I also noticed they had a few croissants left and some cookies so I'm assuming they sell freshly baked goods as well. Customer service was ok. Overall I liked the vibes of this place and will add it to my favorites. read more

I went to the La Colombe coffee shop in Silverlake. Since it's a well-known coffee spot, I went with high expectations. It was the only place in the area open early in the morning, and I really liked the atmosphere., the staff were also very friendly. I ordered a latte and an iced Americano, and it seemed like they use a medium-dark roast. It felt like a good choice for a morning coffee. However, compared to other famous coffee shops, it wasn't particularly special, just a good, solid cup of coffee. read more

Stopped here on a whim and didn't regret it! The service was average, but the barista made me a really creamy oatmilk latte with tasty espresso--not to mention the literally perfect latte art. I have recently been made aware of La Colombe and I have made it a goal to try a new one everytime I'm in LA. In my opinion, hands down the BEST draft coffee I have had! Something about their vanilla and oatmilk draft latte is just blissful to me. It has a smooth and velvety texture with a hint of sweetness from the vanilla and a nice nutty taste from the oatmilk. The service was great as well and it was very lively inside the cafe. A bit smaller and ended up getting a parking ticket because parking in LA is atrocious...but aside from that still a go too for coffee! read more

La Colombe is coffee roaster and now large scale company, hailing from Philadelphia. Famous for their draft lattes and high quality single origin beans, they currently have 32 cafes across the US. The company was recently acquired by Chobani, which is why you can find their lattes in any grocery store nowadays. This cafe location is on a bustling corner in Silverlake. On a Saturday afternoon, the crowd was a hectic mix of tipsy young people trying to perk up after a morning of day drinking, fashionable tourists, and millennials desperately trying to get work done on their laptops despite the lack of WiFi. I understand where La Colombe is coming from with the intentional absence of WiFi, but it's 2024. The bakery case was stocked with pastries from Beverly Hills baker Chaumont. I opted for a Pistachio Rose Croissant, which did not disappoint. My cappuccino, however, was not a cappuccino at all, but a sloppy latte. I do not dislike lattes and it was crazy busy, so I did not complain. But, even Starbucks baristas can make a better cappuccino. Disappointing from a brand of this caliber. read more

I hope you like stale coffee. The place claims that their coffee is fresh. If you pick up the bags they sell, the coffee is a month old. Or they commit the worse crime of having a "best by" date; the shadiest practice when you want to sell old crap. The barista up front (pony tale dude) doesn't understand the importance of fresh coffee; so, I'm not sure I'd be paying my $$$ for a Starbucks quality brew. I took the photo on 09/23, and the roast date shows 08/29. Maybe they should take "roasters" out of their name. Visited this location after spotting it on the way to 33 Taps to watch the World Cup match between U.S. & England; spoilers: no winners. We stopped in after brunch and watching the game. I ordered a latte, and a cookie and croissant to share. The cookie was ginormous, and the croissant perfectly flaky! I enjoyed it all! My boyfriend ordered a macchiato, but was expecting something more along the lines of a Starbuck's caramel macchiato (so basically a vanilla latte with sugar and caramel). The barista was really sweet, and recognized his confused look and offered to make him a latte to-go. 5/5! read more

LOVED the vegan pizza which was a croissant/puff pastry base with vegan pepperoni, cheese and tomato sauce but was really disappointed in their matcha. I got a matcha americano and it tasted like just plain green tea from a tea bag. Was about ~$6 for a small and I felt kinda scammed. Really good coffee, average food. I tried the Draft Oat Milk Latte and had a Ham and Cheese Pastry. The latte was really good. The oat milk adds a nice flavor, and the drink overall was very refreshing. The bitterness of the coffee is very light and pairs well with the oat milk. One thing to note is how smooth the drink was. It has a very nice texture. The Ham and Cheese Pastry was average. The taste of ham is not very noticeable, and the cheese is the main flavor. The pastry itself was pretty flaky. Though, the cheese did taste good, the cheese had a hard texture. The quality was good. The latte was off a tap, and it tasted fresh. The pastry was not warm, but I think you can ask them to warm it up for you. The drink looks alright. It is hard to make coffee stand out. They do have a branded cup with the drink. The pastry look unique as it was long. The price to portion is alright. The drink is worth the price due to it's portion and taste. The pastry 's price is alright for the size and taste. The staff were really friendly. I was welcomed when walking in. One thing that I applaud them for is how fast they made the drink. Again, the drink was from a tap, so they really just put ice. Though, I appreciate how fast and efficient it was. Right after paying I got my order instantly. The ambiance is very nice. It seems cozy inside. The lighting is very nice. It is small at this location if there's a few seats available near the entrance and a small bar type table against the wall.
