We've been in a hotel for a few weeks and tried the 'normal' local restaurants but we were saving this one and a few others. Took a chance to show up with no reservation, but they were gracious and easily found a table to sit us in 1 minute flat. LOVED the GENEROUS bucket of REAL butter packets. My husband and I have a joke about the crime of a nice restaurant serving fake oil based butter. Not here. Good sign #1. Waitress arrived and nice, we got glasses of wine (extensive menu) and I ordered my Escargot right away. No question I was shocked to think I would find my European delicacy here! Yup! Arrived quite quickly with the wine, some nice slices of the Ciabatta bread they also brought for the table. YUMM-O. Just like I remember from Germany. Mains: Lobster (MP) for me and the Foxy cut of the Prime Rib for hubby. Baked Potato and the Cheesy potatoes. All was delicious! And the HUGE salad bar was lovely and included. Now, we opted on dessert to go. Crème Brûlée and Key Lime Cheesecake. Current note, Brûlée tasteless but Key Lime delightful. End. Our bill was $240. My 16-20 oz. Australian Lobster Tail cost $135. Yup, MP [smh]. Sad part, I got two apparently to make the ounces, and it was meaty, but pretty dry and not much flavor, not sweet. However, I do not recall ever having Australian lobster....so buyer beware all around on that one. BUT, we had a lovely night and look forward to trying other items, and that salad bar alone!!! Check this establishment out if you haven't already!!! P.S. Can't believe we forgot to take pics. Sorry.

We walked in and it was really strange we stood there and weren't greeted. It was a crowded Saturday night and the place was packed.. however, there was literally a woman standing there and she said nothing, not I'll be right with you nada... I was a few seconds from leaving but at last we were acknowledged and after finding us a table we were seated. We opened the menu and waited for our server.. we waited and waited some more finally deciding to leave. We didn't even get offered water... I'm a big stickler on service and this place on this day lacked. The interior reminded me of an older Texas road house from California. PSA: The menu is only seafood (crab and shrimp) and prime rib.

Because this was…read morean "excursion" that we picked from an assortment of choices from Holland America, I thought it might be a very average tourist trap. I was wrong! Although it was a bit of a tourist destination, the food was good and was plentiful. I really liked the Prime Rib! Salmon was good too. Only a few draw backs, the food is located outdoors and only the salad bar had a roof over the top. It did rain for a while and we had to make a choice to either stay undercover (hungry) or get wet (along with the food on your plate) while waiting in line to get your main courses. The main courses included Salmon, Prime Rib and a Cheesy Cod Bake. You also got unlimited non-alcoholic beverages and one dessert. Other drinks were available for a fee. Many of the people arrive on buses, so they do get really busy when each load is dropped off. Lines can be a bit long. The entrance was kind of cool, it was through an underground mine shaft. Ceiling is a little low so,watch your head!

I told them not to overcook the salmon on the grill. They don't season the salmon so a sprinkling of salt might help. The cauliflower rice was the opposite. It was heavy on the black pepper and salt. Go if you must check it off your Fairbanks bucket list just to say you've done it.

From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome -- not just well served, but truly looked after. Attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it, the kind of hospitality that makes you instantly relax. The food selection was dangerously good. The kind of menu that makes you abandon all self-control and think, "I'll just try a bit of everything." No regrets there. Special mention to the bar staff, whose cheerful, infectious outlook on life set the tone for the entire place. Her energy alone could warm a Fairbanks winter -- and honestly, a raise should already be on the way That warmth carried through the whole restaurant, creating an atmosphere that felt inviting for everyone, whether you're a local regular or a frozen traveller passing through. Thank you to the entire team for making me feel so welcome over the Christmas and New Year period and for adding another unforgettable memory to my time in Fairbanks. "Be careful... Alaska will get you".

The reindeer sausage is actually a little spicy and while the menu lists another type of sausage, I'm not sure if I saw that. The shrimp was not overcooked which I appreciated. - The garden salad is pitiful but we were craving veggies, and it does come with housemade dressing which is good. - Fish and chips came with 3 semi-decent sizes of fish that weren't overcooked but the batter was slightly undercooked inside and the fries were decent. It came with coleslaw which was good. We asked for another tartar sauce and it was a $2 extra to our surprise. - the blackened halibut special was not that good, overcooked, but the mango salsa on top was delicious. The yellow rice was much too watery and bland as if it was microwaved, but it seemed like they would give you another side (i.e. mash potatoes) if requested. It was also $45 which was more expensive than I expected so I'd ask for the price next time before I order any specials. Beverages: - the arctic warrior draft beer was crisp and light; I'd get this again - the best beer I had in Fairbanks so far

The restaurant ambiance is very simple and nothing fancy, but it is spacious and comfortable. When we first arrived it was not very busy, but by the time we left it had filled up. We also noticed lots of pickup orders, which says a lot about its popularity. The food was good overall, with several dishes that stood out. For appetizers we ordered the potstickers, which were just okay and not very memorable. The calamari was unique and came in a rectangular shape, almost like mozzarella sticks. I had never seen calamari served that way before, but they were actually good. The fried chicken wings were a highlight, hot, crispy, and very enjoyable. The ranch was delicious and tasted homemade with herbs. For our main dishes the beef bulgogi came out on a sizzling plate and was very flavorful. The chicken katsu was nicely crispy with good seasoning, and the short ribs were also served sizzling with a yummy, almost teriyaki style sauce that we really enjoyed. The orange chicken with rice was good, though fairly standard. One dish that pleasantly surprised me was the japchae. It was my first time trying it and I loved the glass noodles and how fresh the vegetables tasted. Overall KC's Kitchen offers solid, comforting food with several standout dishes. While not everything was a wow, we left satisfied and would definitely come back if we are in Fairbanks again.
