The service is kind and welcoming, but kind of slow. The food is not that great as expected, it's not bad, just average. THE CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE is the BEST! That's the only dish we finished that day. (But my partner says it's average as well)

This place was absolutely top tier! Coming from California, it's the closest I've experienced to a true five-star dining experience. The vibe is rustic, so no need to stress about a strict dress code. I made reservations two days in advance, arrived a bit early, and they seated us right away. There's plenty of parking, and the deck is gorgeous. I'm still bummed I didn't get a photo while the sun was out. The food was delicious, and my nephew loved his seafood risotto (not pictured). The prices were far better than what you'd pay in California. Highly recommend!

While traveling through Fairbanks, we kept asking locals where to eat and everyone said The Pump House, so we had to give it a try. SERVICE: 5/5 Locals also suggested making a reservation through Google, which we did. We were seated right away, and the service was excellent from start to finish. Our server checked in frequently without being intrusive, which made the experience feel relaxed and well taken care of. FOOD: 4/5 We ordered the grilled halibut and the grilled salmon. Both dishes were outstanding in their own ways. The halibut was the star for me. It was perfectly cooked, not fishy at all, and full of great flavor. The salmon had a unique sweet honey glaze that made it memorable and delicious. AMBIANCE: 4/5 The atmosphere had cozy, rustic cabin vibes, and since we visited in November, the fall-themed decor made it feel extra warm and inviting. Overall, The Pump House absolutely lived up to the hype. Highly recommend!

Damn. Best halibut " blackened halibut " In the country. And I eat a lot of halibut being an Alaska native. Order it. I promise. It's the bomb.

Came here for dinner with my husband and dad on a whim right as they opened at 4:45. They told us the main dinning room was booked until Friday but the bar was first come, they have an entire separate dinning room that they call "the bar area" and it was only half filled. We were lucky as right when we got there, it completely filled and there was a very long line waiting for a table. I ordered the hot apple pie cocktail and I'm telling you... this drink.. IS HEAVEN!!!! I was so in love with it I got two. You HAVE to try this drink, it's the perfect drink for the negative double digit winters. It's warm around your hands and drinking it warms your body and it's so delicious!!!! For food we ordered the premium burger, buttermilk chicken Mac and cheese and the salmon. All were so decadent. And perfect! I wish I could have buckets and buckets of that creamy Mac n cheese!! anytime we come to Fairbanks we will be sure to make this a staple for every visit!

I celebrated my birthday here and would definitely say it was all worth it. We ordered seafood platter- snow crabs, smoked salmon, clams, fresh oysters, shrimps; risotto with halibut and alfredo pasta. Everything was perfect except for the shrimp on the platter, it was frozen that was thawed and the clams seem like missing something. Otherwise, I was still satisfied as mostly were fresh. The risotto was so delicious as well as the pasta. We just went to the saloon as the main restaurant needed reservation. Ambience was good and spacious for a bar area. I would rate it as 4.8 stars.

Seafood risotto - rice not cooked all of the way and was gummy and not creamy.

Had dinner here last night as our last meal to end our vacation. The restaurant was rustic and charming and the service was good but the food was not good. We ordered the blue burger medium well and it was so dry and overcooked. The seafood risotto was a gloopy mess. The rice was still firm in the middle and was gummy and not creamy. My husband had the fried halibut and it was more soggy than crispy. The clam appetizer and the king crab were the best dishes but really the king crab was just reheated so hard to mess up. The crème brûlée was ok. Overall we did not enjoy the food as we had hoped.

Stellar service, excellent food, rustic ambience! When you enter, you are greeted by a grizzly bear! Decor is reminiscent of the gold miner days. If you plan on coming here, I recommend that you make reservations. We thoroughly loved dining here!

My server was Kendal and my root beer was on draft. Both were sweet and bubbly. My grilled halibut plate looked small didn't think I'd get full but the potatoes were a nice touch. Hold the cheese please. Wish I had more veggies but at least the fish was good. I had the scallops wrapped a bacon as an appetizer. These are a must, I like that they were not too sweet. And my dessert was a Rhubarb cobbler, nice and hot with cold vanilla ice cream on top. So good!

Great local restaurant with an old town, historic feel. It's almost like traveling back in time to the gold rush era. Such friendly service. We ordered the scallop appetizer, seafood chowder, grilled halibut and burgers for the kids. There may have been a bit more pesto on the halibut for our taste and I was surprised the kids felt the burgers tasted plain. That's usually how they prepare it for kids but other all thought the seafood was pretty good. Definitely recommend trying!

I can here on vacation in November. It was so cold! That being said, have pretty much only good things to say. First of all, Joshua was our server and super friendly and helpful! He recommended some dishes which was great. Highly recommend following recommendations. We had the grilled salmon which hwas delicious. The maple syrup and black berry glaze on the salmon ended up on the potato wedges which elevated them to a whole other degree. My partner was absolutely in love with it. I personally loved the seafood chowder because it was thick and perfect. The bread was delicious and complex in flavor without being too much. The only thing that wasn't absolutely amazing was the crab mac. We also had the elk meatloaf which my partner loved. I personally found it too salty but that is more because I don't put a lot of salt in my food. The decor was SO cute. I loved that they say us on a couch which just made the dinner that much more cozy. I certainly recommend and, having seen reviews, would love to come back in good weather too!

Love the decor! The service and food were the best we had on our 2 weeks in Alaska! The shrimp and crab Rangoon was so good. The elk medallions were cooked perfectly, the roasted potatoes were nice, broccolini and carrots were warm, but crisp. Loved the bacon wrapped scallops! The halibut, salmon, and black and bleu burger got rave reviews too. Save room for dessert. The table favorite was the peanut butter pie. We also had the chocolate mousse pie and te carrot cake (which was more of a spice cake). Oh the key lime martini was delicious. Make a reservation and go!

This was our first restaurant of the trip. We were surprised to see all of the food options. The seafood chowder was delicious and flavorful. The seafood pasta was also very good. It had a good ratio of seafood to pasta and the prices there were very fair. Service was very friendly and the ambiance is very homey... especially after coming from the cold. This place was recommended to us by many people and we were not disappointed.

After spending two weeks in Fairbanks, one piece of advice kept coming up from the locals: "You…read morehave to eat here." They weren't wrong. From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel genuinely welcome -- not just well served, but truly looked after. Attentive without hovering, friendly without forcing it, the kind of hospitality that makes you instantly relax. The food selection was dangerously good. The kind of menu that makes you abandon all self-control and think, "I'll just try a bit of everything." No regrets there. Special mention to the bar staff, whose cheerful, infectious outlook on life set the tone for the entire place. Her energy alone could warm a Fairbanks winter -- and honestly, a raise should already be on the way That warmth carried through the whole restaurant, creating an atmosphere that felt inviting for everyone, whether you're a local regular or a frozen traveller passing through. Thank you to the entire team for making me feel so welcome over the Christmas and New Year period and for adding another unforgettable memory to my time in Fairbanks. "Be careful... Alaska will get you".

We were saying at the hotel so came here twice…read more - Crab stuffed mushrooms: comes with a cream sauce; best thing we ate here - Cajun pasta: the pasta was extremely overcooked but the sauce was nice enough although I wish it had more spice and flavor. The reindeer sausage is actually a little spicy and while the menu lists another type of sausage, I'm not sure if I saw that. The shrimp was not overcooked which I appreciated. - The garden salad is pitiful but we were craving veggies, and it does come with housemade dressing which is good. - Fish and chips came with 3 semi-decent sizes of fish that weren't overcooked but the batter was slightly undercooked inside and the fries were decent. It came with coleslaw which was good. We asked for another tartar sauce and it was a $2 extra to our surprise. - the blackened halibut special was not that good, overcooked, but the mango salsa on top was delicious. The yellow rice was much too watery and bland as if it was microwaved, but it seemed like they would give you another side (i.e. mash potatoes) if requested. It was also $45 which was more expensive than I expected so I'd ask for the price next time before I order any specials. Beverages: - the arctic warrior draft beer was crisp and light; I'd get this again - the best beer I had in Fairbanks so far
