I can't truly give a comprehensive view of International Cafe because truthfully I've only ever had the wings, dating back to high school - I don't know if I've ever looked at the menu, it's just automatic: "I'll have the ten piece lemon pepper wings, please." And while I've seen several reviews billing it as "the best wings", I don't know if I'm fully committed to that extreme. They're certainly good, the wings come out nice and hot, and they're never cooked - and if you're a lemon pepper aficionado like me, you'll appreciate the balance of flavor in their lemon pepper wings. A girlfriend of mine, however, is absolutely enamored with the hot wings - she's committed to the best wings proclamation, so if you can handle the heat, definitely try an order of those, Additional flavors include mild and medium (not quite sure what the difference is there) and they're offered in a single order (ten piece for $6.99), double order (twenty piece for $13.75), and the hungry order (fifty for $33.99) - which in my opinion, is a helluva deal. Wings are served with celery and blue cheese, unless other wise specified (extra blue cheese costs, well.. extra). In addition to the wings, they serve a pretty well rounded menu of typical American bar fare featuring various burgers and sandwiches. The International Cafe has a sports bar esque feel, despite its size - an intimate sports bar if you will. There are two large flat screens on either side of the restaurant broadcasting a sporting event at all times, but the staff is usually pretty cool with changing it to your preferred channel if it's not too busy. Speaking of, the staff is always very nice and on point; the food always comes out quickly - it's an ideal restaurant to dine on the run! I was shocked to learn that this place has been around since 1983. Providing decent wings for a long time. They have great lemon pepper wings! I'm picky with my lemon pepper and they did them just right. The hot wings where just ok. I also got some fries and they as good as fries go. I ordered 10 wings total and paid around $8. My friend got the onion rings and loved them. Nice and large and crunchy. Service is fast and the staff is friendly. Man I have never been deceived with yelp reviews before. I was looking for good wings around here and having had wings from wingstop, wings101, taco mac, hooters, BWW etc I was looking for more of a local option. I am always in favor of going local whenever possible and having read good reviews about this place I decided to give it a try. Getting to this place is not a concern at all. Right on Buford Highway across from Pink Pony and there is plenty of parking around the strip joint. There are a few other restaurants that share the parking spots so finding a spot might be a concern sometimes. I I placed my orders on phone for 10 wings and philly steak. Philly steak was good and on the point. The bread could have been better. By the time I got to the sandwich which was about 15 mins after it was soggy and mushy. It could have held up the a little longer..lol. Now onto the wings. They were definitely on the smaller side, not even medium. Of all the places that I have had these were the smallest that I have had. Lemon pepper seasoning was different than most places and had the zing and the Hot sauce could have been hotter IMO. I love chicken wings. Love them. Honestly, I was not that impressed my first visit. I think it was because I was expecting more of a saucy, wingstop, kind of wing. However, these have quickly made their way to the top of my list! I find myself craving the crunchy and flavorful wings! If they offered a few more flavors and better sides (like wingstop) I would totally give them 5 stars. My usual order has become the 10 piece wings -5 lemon pepper; 5 medium; with a basket of fries and an order of Texas toast. I don't love the fries but they do the job. I prefer crispy fries but these are thick, steak fries. They're okay but don't tend to be crispy. The Texas toast is the best! Perfectly buttery and toasted. i ordered spaghetti and meatballs ... i sliced on in half before i ate it and it was RAW inside. i opened the other one it looked cooked.i went back to show them and their excuse was it's soaked for a long time in the sauce so it's red on the inside... i've never seen cooked meat look raw on the inside due to sauce... why want the other meatball red on the inside ? if it was cooked in the same sauce as they claimed ... instead of argue with your customers (who are always right) you should've apologized and admitted to your wrong doing. But the signage, menu, and mirrored front door of this place says "Cafe International" 4.0 stars for: Parking - No real issues, you will find a spot. 2.5 stars for: Ambiance - If it was not for the Sweet Giant HD TV, I would have thought that I hung out a little too long in my Hot Tub Time machine and flicked to switch to 1995. Kinda dark, kinda woody. 4.0 stars for: Food - I ordered Wings (10) and steak fries. The wings very indeed very very tasty! and my steak fries came out fresh out the fry daddy! They do not drown the wings in sauce, which is what I like. The menu is small and very random. I've posted a pic. 3.0 stars for: Service - The lady at the counter seemed Very Nice, yet Very Mean at the same time. I got a very weird vibe. Seriously THE BEST chicken wings in the country!!!! The way they cook their wings is SO SPECIAL. The texture of these wings are absolutely UNCOMPARABLE. The hot and the lemon pepper are the most delicious flavors and I like to order 1/2 and 1/2 to balance each other out (The hot can get pretty spicy). I've never eaten anything else other than lemon pepper wings here so I can't really comment on anything else. DAMN they are crispy and they come out fast and hot. I can see how some people would say their wings are too salty, but I didn't have any issue with them (I'm a salt fiend, though). With their lemon-saltiness, I can see them being especially good with an ice cold beer. Their blue cheese dressing gets a notable mention. Most people give you those little plastic pre-made cups of blue cheese. Not here! They make the blue cheese dressing in-house and you can tell by the gratuitous cheese chunks. If I were to critique them on anything it'd be the amount of meatiness on the wings. These aren't the meatiest wings, but they compensate by being the crispiest of all the wings I've had so far. It's been a minute since we last came but the food and service is still fantastic. The menu is straight-forward and everything fits on one side of a laminated page. While the menu options aren't overly large, everything on it is done well, super tasty, and served fast! If you're dining in, grab an open table and a server will come take orders. Our favorite menu items are their wings (of course!), philly cheese steaks (beef or chicken), onion rings, and sautéed mushrooms. Drinks are bottles or cans, no fountain options. Service is efficient, friendly, and fast! This is a no frills wing shop with large tvs showing various sports games/commentaries. I don't know what has been happening to these wings but I've been going here since 1990.I've seen the change this restaurant has made over the years physically by it's decorations, even when they had waitresses but now I'm seeing change in the food.The wings aren't as crispy as before and the quality of the food when it is served isn't the same. Sooooo...The reason for me giving IC 2 stars is cause Ive been coming here for over 25 YEARS.. no I'm not lying, so it's more of a love thing I have or guess had for this place. Lived literally across the street, apartment complex used to be called Druid Walk, and the Mexican shop that's there now was actually a bank, got my haircut at the hair salon located in the same little shopping center where IC is located in, went to Woodward elementary, and did my sophomore year in Cross Keys that are located right down the street. Anyways, back to my reason for giving IC 2 stars is cause last few times I been back the chicken tastes like low quality chicken, has almost like a taste before chicken goes bad..? Not sure if that makes sense. Their chicken NEVER used to taste so low quality. But yes, been very disappointing experiences lately. Again, is more of the love I have for this place, and the people there have always been so nice. Please look into picking out better chicken for the wings.. PLEASE. My expectations for this place were high based on reviews from other people. The wings were AMAZING! I ordered 10 hot wings, Texas toast, and a drink. The flavor of the hot wings was great. The wings were nicely sized and were seasoned to perfection. The blue cheese that came with it was homemade, but it blended perfectly with the flavor of the wings. The Texas toast was okay. It wasn't what I was expecting. I feel like I could've toasted my own bread and slathered butter on it. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because of the drink. Came here with bunch of yelpers for dinner. For a party of 20 people, the restaurant managed to bring out our food at a reasonable time. The wings are supposedly the best in town, let's not get ahead of ourselves here. For a dinner on Buford highway, if someone was craving wings this is THE place to go but why is anyone craving wings on Buford highway is the question? I would recommend trying Mexican, Korean, Vietnamese, Paki/Bangla or Chinese on Buford highway before going for wings. The wings were okay- I ordered 10 hot. They were hot for sure but they weren't life altering. (I traded one of my hot wings for lemon pepper and it was good but again not amazing.) Some others tried teriyaki and lemon pepper and said those were good too. The beer is all bottled so unfortunately nothing on tap. The place has been around since the 80s so it is a testament to something they offer/have, I am just not sure if it's in the wings. I would give it 5 stars, bc the food is really good. But trying to order over the phone is nearly impossible bc the girl answering cannot understand English. I know it's not her native language, but I had two very difficult conversations with her and ordered over $100 worth of wings and food, all of which was really good, but she screwed up the order and my guests were not happy. There is no way to order online if you want something other than exactly what they show on the list. I was trying to order 100 wings in various flavors and styles. You simply cannot do it on their online ordering, and you have to call. Then you get someone, who has to ask someone else what I mean after every request. If you go in I'm sure it's better. If you want delivery it getting worse, bc they make you order through Door Dash, and you have the same issues with getting your order correctly. If you are ordering just as the menu is published, then I guess you are OK, but if you want variations or changes, then you are going to have a tough time. She just didn't know much about the menu and what portions looked like. I ordered the Family Tray of wings in 4 different flavors, and she got that correct, but I wanted the hot ones Flats only and the rest mixed. Whoa. So many 5 star reviews. This place was exactly "meh" as the two stars described. I'm not a wings fanatic, but the one lemon pepper wing I ate was so salty I coughed. Boo. It was also texturally interesting, which grossed me out too. I went with the spaghetti with meatballs and it was fine (the garlic bread was good). The funny thing is, I've only actually eaten in this little "hole in the wall/mom & pop spot" once. But I pick up orders from here ALL the time. I order the medium or hot wings extra crunchy and they come out perfect! When I'm feeling a little bit sassy, I may switch it up and order the lemon pepper wings. Again, extra crunchy. My go-to place for wings these days. It's in a borderline shady area on Buford Hwy, probably not a place you would automatically go "YEAH! I really want to try this place" from the outside, but enter in and you'll find a place that... well you still probably aren't that excited to eat. I'll be honest, the decor inside and the feel of it all isn't that great. But as for the food, I'm stuck. When I come here, there's one thing on my mind: wings. As many people say, the wings are smaller than the average. Probably these are the normal sized wings rather than the behemoth, tyranno-shootsomesteroidsinme-chicken sized wings they sell elsewhere. They are perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside yet still juicy on the inside. My go to flavors are lemon pepper (which is solid - nothing spectacular) and hot. Now, the hot sauce here isn't your typical buffalo/butter mix you find elsewhere. There is something different and homemade about the hot sauce. It's spicy and peppery but not overwhelming so that you cannot enjoy the meat. It is salty, and almost has an Asian influence on it. And it is delicious. Probably an unsung hero of this place - the bleu cheese. I believe it is made in-house. The bleu cheese in chunky but not so chunky that you cannot dip your wings into it. It's creamy and cheesy without it being so cheesy that it overpowers everything else. It is the perfect combo to the things and well worth the money you'd spend if you needed to get extra. Side are pretty good, again nothing spectacular but nice compliment to the wings. Fries are the big steak cut fries if you like that kind. Onion rings are pretty good - good thick onion with a crispy breading. But all in all, you come here for the wings. One qualm I do have - their prices have gone up by quite a bit in the last 6-8 months that I've been going here. It used to be about $.50/wing here (which is not great especially for the size of wings they are), but not I believe it's more like $.70/wing, but all that means I can't eat here as frequently as before. Call ahead and they'll have it ready for you in 10 minutes. Great place. Family owned it looks like. Check them out when you have a hankering for some wings! read more

From what I remember, a bit of cucumber and not fully ripened tomatoes. And then there was a piece of sliced American cheese (a Kraft single, my guess) torn in half on top of the salad. Who does that to a salad? What is even the point of the cheese. My friend torn hers up into smaller pieces. I just took mine off entirely. The saddest little salad I have ever seen in my whole life. Thank goodness the chicken fingers were awesome. They could have used a bit more salt, but that's OK. I could not finish the order of chicken fingers, I had to save one for dinner. Score.
