My daughter was stranded with a dead battery in a different state. This location failed, they treated her like she was stupid and an inconvenience. She even showed them a picture of the battery to prove to them it was an interstate battery. We purchased an Interstate battery recommended by our mechanic as a great battery and great warranty. Mike and Rich at the shop have done right by me--twice now--so I am an interstate battery fan now! My mechanic sells interstate batteries, stating he only sells what he believes in. So that's what went into my classic car just over a couple years ago. And before this, I didn't know of Interstate. When the Arizona sun, combined with a sympathetic drain somewhere in my classic car, won over the battery, the warranty was honored IN FULL. And my mechanics said that's what they're famous for. Apparently! Then I accidentally let the battery run down from the same sympathetic drain on my classic car that was sitting-- as I got too busy for most of the year to drive it. And they saved it and recharged it for free, when my CTEK charger at home didn't recognize it due to its depleted low voltage state. (And yeah, I'll do a better job of keeping my car on trickle charge, should I get too busy to drive it on Sundays!) Called them up for a battery, had both size options in stock for very reasonable prices and has a 3 year warranty. I've owned numerous brands but Interstate seems to be the most reliable for my 4Runner. Only other one ive liked are Optima but those are EXPENSIVE. Great customer service over here too, I'd say I hope to be back soon, but I rather not require another battery for awhile lol read more

Bought the battery about two years ago. I brought it in to your store. Mike was awesome. Very helpful and friendly. He found an issue with it, addressed it and sent me on my way. Unfortunately it did not solve the problem. I brought the battery back and once again spoke with Mike. Same exact friendly service. We discussed the newly discovered issue. After some friendly back and forth I explained serious concerns with an upcoming trip. Sympathetic to my plight we reached a more than fair agreement. Terrible terrible terrible!! Avoid these guys at all cost, they do not honor your warranty. Worst business I have ever been to in my life, they do not honor your warranty. Came here because a friend recommended but I highly advise everyone against this location. I will always let people know to avoid interstate at all cost. My battery got damaged on the outside after 1 month and all they offered was for me to buy another one from them. Even the O'Reilly guy gave me a discount when he heard what happened! . I needed a new battery for my car. The provided one for far less than the dealership. I also inquired about a trickle charger with a connector added in. I asked for this since due to covid, I'm not driving as much, which is bad for car batteries. The folks there were very nice and helpful. Great customer service. Quick turnaround. The battery was dead when we tried to start our truck Put it on the charger for about 2 hours. While that was happening, our research realized that the battery was almost 5 years old and we should probably have it tested because we were going on a trip the next day. We were going to just take the battery, but the truck actually started. Once there, they took into the bay and came back said the battery was bad. Had some concerns with my Interstate battery that I purchased in Yuma so I stopped in at this location. One of the reasons we always buy Interstate batteries is because of their awesome warranty and customer service. They were friendly and they immediately got my truck in to check it out. The battery was bad but I was able to get a replacement at a pro-rated price. The whole thing took about 30 mins tops and I was back on the road. Before I left, they talked to me about my battery and any problem areas they saw. Fast, friendly, and the reliable service I've come to expect from Interstate. Let me start by saying I bought a optima yellow top battery in CA and it had a three year warranty, when the battery died I tried to return it to several yellow top distributors and no one would take it on a warranty replacement. As soon as I called Interstate and spoke to Robin she assured me that all I needed to do was bring the battery in let them test it and they'd either charge it or replace it. Once we got there Robin was beyond helpful in the exchange and even answered all the questions we had about our campers battery. We cannot speak highly enough about Robin and Interstate batteries. Let me first say that the staff was fairly helpful and courteous - they are this locations only saving grace. My assumption is they do not realize they can get the same pay working in a better environment. IF YOU DON'T HAVE TIME TO READ MY ENTERTAINING EXPERIENCE... Bottom line is the guy who runs the place is a hothead that approaches his customers with the mindset of a battle to be won instead of business to be earned. My suggestion to you is to go somewhere else - other Interstate battery locations or Firestone locations. My suggestion to the guy is to cut back on the testosterone supplements. So here is what happened... My interstate battery would not hold a charge and was just less than a year old with a two year free replacement guarantee. So I took it in and the attendant greeted me and was helpful. Apologized for having to test the battery and not just take my word... of course. Completely reasonable. He tested it and reaffirmed that it was not good. He said, "I'll be back with your free replacement." and went into the back to get it. Sounds right and simple so far. This is where things go bad... This guy walks in the front door - older stocky guy - bald, sweaty, black T-shirt and jeans, kind of intimidating looking - and yells out "Yo who's next - who's been helped." Nobody said a word - they just looked at the guy puzzled, not knowing who he was or why he was asking our business here. One of the customers may have wet themselves a little. I assumed he was one of the many crazies who walks up and down Broadway outside the store. As we stare at him making emergency exit plans in our minds, the nice attendant walked in with my battery. Crazy guy asks nice guy what he was doing so nice guy explained he tested the battery and it was dead - so he was getting me set up with my free replacement. As soon as he said "FREE REPLACEMENT", Crazy's eyes went wild and went on a rant about how the test that Nice Guy did was not adequate and he had to take my battery in the back room to be tested and on a "super secret extra special tester". It was then I realized he was not a Broadway crazy, he was the crooked boss who would refuse to stand behind his product... 25 minutes later he said best he could do 10% off. Refused to service/ charge a 2 year old rv battery I purchased there. Never had this problem in the past.

I had an Interstate Megatron 2 that had been slowly dying on me. After a recent oil change, Firestone said it was down to 50 Cold Cranking Amps, so I decided to finally bring it in. I had the battery for 27 months so I was still within the pro-rated warranty period (45% off!!). I brought my truck in about thirty mins before the store closed and I was quickly greeted upon walking in. I briefly explained my situation to the gentleman behind the counter after which he took my keys and immediately pulled my truck into the back to do a battery test. Within less than five minutes he was back. He explained it wasn't quite down to only 50 cold cracking amps but it failed one of their two "tests," so I was covered. I trust an Interstate battery test over a Firestone test any day haha. The entire process from walking in to pulling out took 15 mins or less. They were fast, friendly, efficient and even pulled my vehicle to the front door. It's all about the little things and that was a nice touch. I should note also, every person I spoke to either asked if I had been helped yet or offered me a place to sit and free water in their lobby. I drove from Ahwatukee, but I will definitely come back here when I have ANY battery needs. Interstate rocks and my truck turns over like a dream! I couldn't be happier. read more

Called early on a Saturday to see if they had a battery for a Hummer H1 (double battery). Drove all the way from North Scottsdale and bought two gel batteries (best they had). Big guy walked me out back and helped me raise the hood when another fellow started working in replacing them. All pretty routine until... Apparently gel batteries are slightly larger than regular batteries and nothing is easy when your working on a Hummer. While I was watching the battery get changed I struck up some small talk with the owner. Once he saw that the job was getting a little complicated he jumped right in there and helped get me dialed in. The place is very organized, clean and the staff looks great with their matching uniforms. I was impressed and believe me, I'm hard to impress when it comes to service. Needless to say, even though it is a long drive, I will never buy a battery any place else but here. Highly recommended. read more

I have always used Interstate batteries with no issues. I had to replace two old batteries with two new ones. The new batteries are bad. Interstate wants me to pay more to test the batteries than what I paid for them and then they may not honor the warranty. Not a good warranty plan if this is the case and very bad customer service. I had been having problems with my towed Lexus GX470 over the years & it finally died on a Sunday in Camp Verde while on vacation. I ended up purchasing an auto parts store battery from whomever was open on Sunday & it lasted me about 2 1/2 years. Yesterday the Lexus would hardly turn-over so I Googled Interstate Batteries and the Mesa location came up 1st. I drove down & their crew took my vehicle & checked the battery...sure enough it was bad. In less than 20 minutes I had a new Interstate and while I was there I purchased a set of rechargeable safety flares which I though were reasonable and then they took an additional 10% off. I came in with a battery that had a warranty on it and asked them to check it. The battery wasn't holding a charge. So the gal behind the counter told me it would about $130 for a new one. I then said there is still 20 months left on the warranty. So another gal in the back came up to the counter and said it would be $115 - so I told her that I would like my battery back and I was going to Auto Zone. She then got very indignant with me and stormed off to the back. Very VERY rude people and their warranties are a joke apparently. I will NEVER do business there and I will make sure that I never recommend them. I was told it had a bad cell and two weeks left on warranty. They replaced it FREE. I had no paper work for the old one and I feel they could have taken advantage of me. What a great honest store. First I purchased a "PREMIUM" battery from interstate thinking it would last a little longer than autozone ones that die about every 2 years. No trouble but I needed it installed there as I stopped on my way home from work where I had to get a jump. They wanted to charge me $10 to install a $160 battery. Autozone and Orielly do it for free. I said never mind ill figure it out. Come 2 years later and my battery is dead. I took it back for a replacement. The bald baffoon that work there tells me I should have been putting water in it. I told him I have not put water in a battery in 25 years and I've been getting them from AutoZone or O'Reilly's the cheap ones. He tries to make me feel stupid like dude you're supposed to be putting water in batteries you never done that before. I said I have in my motorcycle batteries but not car batteries especially not when I buy the premium ones. I said they did not tell me that when I bought the battery two years ago. He said well you bought the battery two years and two months ago so it will be $75. I argued with him for a while and he wasn't budging I had no choice at that point time what to buy battery. He said all the batteries needed water so when he brings out the replacement battery guess what there's no place to put water he said oh this must be our new kind. He was complete a$$. I went in and ask him what it would cost to replace the batteries for my 19.2 volt Sears battery pack. They told me it was $59.99 I looked at him with shock on my face saying that a new one at Sears is only $39.99 and that they have them on sale for $29.99. Really what kind of business would cost more to fix a battery pack and going to charge me almost twice what it would cost to buy a new one. I guess this is what they call the American Way. I've used Interstate batteries for over twenty years. They seem to last longer in the Arizona heat than other brands. One of my cars was having difficulty starting, and the battery was over four years old. I assumed it was dying. They tested and determine that the battery was still functioning at 20%, which should be enough to start the car. They identified my real problem was a failing ignition switch and clearly demonstrated such to me. A credit was offered for my old battery which made it worthwhile to replace it. In 115 degree heat their staff volunteer to push start my car and did push it into their garage. After the battery was replace, one of them jiggled the key enough to get the car started. Car is in for ignition switch repair at my regular repair shop. I highly recommend Interstate for their friendly and most helpful staff and great product. read more
