I have worked with the AVS team from time to time over the past decade, starting with a small pilot project for San Francisco's Union Square. That small project to install some of the area's first networked forensic video cameras has grown to more than 2000+ cameras across most of San Francisco and is now the largest safety, security, and sensor network in California. This review is not so much a reflection of their capabilities as an integrator of the technology and networks involved, but more for how the company conducts itself in business and serves its customers. In my opinion, the level of intelligent planning, engineering, integration, and customer care is something that is next level. This is my second review for AVS and I'm giving it another 5 Stars. If you're a decision maker looking for a serious, professional company to deliver a large-scale managed video camera and security sensor network, I suggest you put AVS on your short list of candidates. Thinking this I called and spoke to a person about a commercial application. I told them it was a mixed use building with 7 commercial units and common areas for 20 residential units. I was told that the sales staff were in a meeting and would get back to me later that day or tomorrow. As everyone knows, tomorrow never comes. One week later I called to followed up and again I asked to speak to their sales department and again they would get back to me. I told them that I'm still waiting for a call back from a week ago. After more than 10 days, two business weeks; no call back; Nothing. After reviewing google I saw reviews from 7-8 years ago and I'm surprised that they are still in business. How can I tell you about about their pricing, their product, their installation, the whole process and most important, their customer service when they will not even respond with a phone call. If asked about this company, I can say I would never do business with them in fear that their after sales response and service would be worst than their pre-sales response. Non existent.

What in the fresh fuck?! Thanks for the heads-up, assholes. So I got ahold of Steve (hi Steve, you are awesome) at Coastside Net and he set us up with their Surflink package which also includes a home phone in addition to interwebs (I haven't had a landline phone for like 10 years, whee!). Screw Comcast....now we're back to paying something like $45 a month and our internet speed and reliability are vastly improved. Downloading Brazilian fart porn has never been so easy!! Wait, forget I said that. Anyway, I highly recommend these guys! And it's an added bonus that we can feel good about supporting a local business instead of big raunchy corporate Comcast.

We hardly ever have issues with our fast internet and are heavy users of Netflix, HBO GO, Showtime Anytime, etc. I've had services through Comcast, Verizon DSL, and Time Warner in the past and every single one of those providers lost contracts with my family because of how badly the companies were ran. This small, local internet service provider is amazing and is one of my favorite things about living in HMB actually. I mean, if this town isn't going to give young people a one screen movie theater (WHY NOT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!?) or adequate places to shop at least we have fast and cheap internet, right? I like Coastside Net so much that I have been guilty of waving to it on my walk to work back when it was located on Main St.

Jeff B. Was a subcontractor on a major remodel. He did the TV and audio work just fine but I did…read morenot do anything that advanced. I have used Best Buy and Geek Squad to finish my TV and audio project. The major part of his work was to install Lutron lighting and electrical blinds. This started in November 2015 and I asked him to just leave the work in about May of 2017. He was difficult to work with and never lived up to his commitments. There were a couple major items that were defective and he blamed me for the problems. He would go weeks without responding to my calls or texts. Simply put, Jeff is the worst contractor I have worked with. Jeff made me believe that he was a certified Lutron representative. After contacting the VP of Customer Service at Luton I found he was not certified to install their project. Lutron did help me get this fixed. Lutron is a great product. John, owner of 54 Electric, came in and finished the work and even stood up to the warranty of the problems Jeff had blamed on me. John also made many improvements and we are working on doing my vacation home.

As well, they weren't truthful regarding the hard wiring of the TV's and in fact did nothing. we ultimately got someone who fixed the system and told us that The Tech Guyz had erroneously connected certain cables (to the wrong places). This felt like a giant waste of time and money.
