It's 2020 and I am still seeing 20/20! Getting Lasik was one of the greatest decisions I made in 2017 and I had the pleasure of having Dr. Lin perform my surgery. I was nervous at first but it definitely has been life changing. I can now eat cup of noodles without my vision (glasses) getting all foggy, I can SEE in the shower, I don't have to keep wiping my glasses in the rain and most importantly... it has been freakin' awesome to wake up in the morning and see everything in HD. I still go to the Westminster office for my annual check up and the staff is always phenomenal and very friendly. They make sure to greet me with a smile every time and they make me feel absolutely comfortable there. BIG shout out to: Annie, Josie, Phuong, Nhi, Dr. Nguyen and Kelly! You guys are definitely the A-team. I have already referred a few of my friends and family there. I will continue to do so! I got SMILE Lasik here in July and I could not be happier with the results. Before Lasik, my vision was -6.25, afterwards, I was at 20/15 within a month of the procedure. I was informed that after getting Lasik, my eyes might be really dry, my vision wouldn't stabilize for months, I might have trouble with night vision and get halos, etc, but I was fortunate to not have had any of those side effects. My eyes were dry for a couple weeks but were fine after that. My vision was clear within a couple of weeks. My friends who have had Lasik told me it was the best decision they'd ever made, and after having received it, I firmly believe that, too. It is so nice to rub my eyes and not having my contacts dislodged and to not freak out when I get an eyelash in my eyes. I looked at other doctors and practices for Lasik, but what appealed to me most about IQ Laser Vision was that they had a minimally invasive procedure that minimizes eye dryness, and the recovery time was shorter. I am a very active person and I wanted to get back into my exercise routine as soon as I could. Other practices wanted me to be off my contact lenses for a week or more, whereas it was only 3 days here. It sucks exercising with blurry vision. I also loved the 0% interest payment plan. The staff has been nothing but amazon. My surgeon, Dr. Liu, talked me throughout the procedure and I knew exactly what to expect. It was kind of creepy since someone is rustling around my eyeballs, but there was minimal pain, and mostly just discomfort. Dr. Nguyen gave me the before/after eye exams, and she is just so sweet and funny. My counselors Christine and Josie were wonderfully informative, and the front staff were always super pleasant, particularly Annie. Overall, I could not be happier with the outcome. read more

So my vision is still the same, meaning fluctuations here and there. They told me SMILE takes a long time to heal. I am a lot sensitive to bright lights as compared to before surgery. I do see halos and bright glares at night. Driving at night is not so pleasant bc of the glare from cars approaching opposite direction. So i have to wear sunglasses driving at night a lot of the times. So this is how i see things at night: like those typical picture of a bridge with a chain of lights and light are out of focus as the distant grows further. It's like walking into paradise with gleaming, dazzling lights. TBH how i see lights at night is a really beautiful image but imagine driving with that kind of vision... kinda annoying... But other than that, everything is fine. No discomfort yay!!!!! The staffs are very nice, like i mentioned in my previous post, i have dry eyes. So they have me lots of eyedrops samples to help with that. They try their best to keep patients happy :) P.S: i do NOT have 20/20 vision in both eyes, my left eye vision is very fuzzy. They said it's because my eyes are dry so my prescription fluctuates and they're still healing. So we'll see how it goes in a few more months. I highly recommend coming here if you're thinking about LASIK. I came here on a Saturday (only open one Saturday each month) for my consultation back in March. I was greeted by the ladies in the front upon walking in and offered some water. I filled out some paperwork and waited for them to call me. Afterwards, they took me inside where they did a number of tests to determine if I was an eligible candidate for LASIK or not. They told me I was a perfect candidate. Woohoo. (I've been wearing glasses for 16 years and contacts for about 10 years. When I finally ran out of contact lenses, I resorted to wearing my glasses and I didn't realize how much of a hassle they were.) So it was really great news to hear that I could have 20/20 vision. After all the tests, Christine, the PR coordinator walked through every type of vision correction method and the ones I was eligible for, which was LASIK and SMILE. I ended up choosing LASIK over SMILE because it was a bit cheaper and I don't have an issue with dry eyes. I put down a $200 deposit towards my procedure. You also have the option of paying in full, or making monthly payments through Care Credit. They give you 24 months to pay off the amount in full, interest free but Josie recommended I pay it off in 23 months just in case I miss a payment and have to pay the interest fees. Good tip~! Christine gave me an informational brochure to take home and I set up a following up appointment to dilate my eyes. Fast forward about a week later I got my eyes dilated and they gave me a goody bag (that's reuseable) with three different kinds of eye drops. One was an antibiotic eye drop to use the night before the surgery and after LASIK. The other two eye drops were from the brand Oasis. The first box was Oasis Plus, which I was told was thicker and more viscous. I was instructed to use two nights before my surgery and use afterwards. The other one was the regular Oasis eye drops. Both the Oasis eye drops came in vials and were re-cappable. I thought it was really awesome that IQLV provides these eye drops since it's NOT cheap. (I was looking it up on Amazon and a box of those drops were about $30 FYI.) I also got to meet Dr. Erica Liu, who would be performing LASIK and she answered any additional questions I had. She had a really calming demeanor and I wasn't expecting to meet her until the day of the surgery. Anyway, I have the procedure and everything goes smoothly. I come back to the Westminster location for my 1 week post op exam and again, I'm warmly greeted by the staff. I was surprised they remembered my name since most places would forget due to the sheer amount of customers they have. It's really nice to be treated like a valued customer instead of just a number. I feel the here staff truly cares about their customers and their customer service is exceptional. Seriously, they're so nice. I'm constantly being offered coffee or tea or water haha. My 3 month post op exam is in late June and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again and telling them how well I can see. I'm really glad I went through with LASIK and I'm even happier that I chose IQLV to take care of my eyes. :) read more

This place is truly a gem. The entire staff was such a pleasure to talk to, and they made me feel very comfortable! Special shout out to Christine Tran and Dr. Nguyen who were both funny and informative. I went in for my free consultation and ended up going with SMILE per their recommendation. My appointment is scheduled to be on the 24th of this month, and I can't wait to be able to see without my glasses! They have payment plans available so it's more budget friendly. :) If you're looking into getting lasik or get your eyes checked, I HIGHLY recommend coming to IQ. They will answer all of your questions and you'll leave happy, I swear! I gave 5 stars because I can work 8 hr and I can cook without glasses. I did my surgery on July 2nd turn out one eye not qualified for LASIK's surgery instead I had to do PRK. Thanks to Dr.Lin he took his time to double check my measurements again on the day of surgery. And he took his time to explain to me what is the best for the other eye. With his advice I did PRK for my left eye. Because I am old, I prepared myself 3wks vacation for my surgery.It was not enough I got headache for the whole month. Now I am okay but I still have some issues in the morning I start working from 0630 to 830 That 2 hours I can't see clearly but after 0830 to 3:00 pm I have no problem. CAUTION: this review is based on my first visit for a consultation. I will update as the process moves along. I called on a Thursday afternoon, hoping to get an appointment for two weeks from then because I was going on vacation. Josie answered the phone & was able to have me come in for a consultation that day. She was super informative on the phone, and even emailed me the information. Upon arrival, I was greeted by Josie & various staff. They immediately thanked me for my time & made me feel welcome. I filled out some paperwork and waited. There were a few people there, some waiting for a consult and others for a check-up after surgery. I was called in and given some preliminary screening by a younger gentleman. They were all really friendly. Next, I was taken to an exam room for an eye exam to measure my prescription. The doctor explained how my eye (with high prescription and astigmatism) worked. She was very informative. After that, she took me to see a patient consult, Christine. Christine was my new best friend. She was enthusiastic, upbeat, & real. She didn't downplay how anxiety inducing the process could be, but she also reassured me. We walked through the process, her own experience, & the doctor's background. I have yet to meet Dr. Robert Lin, but he sounds upstanding. Apparently he graduated from UCLA, still teaches there, and developed his own technique called Microlasik to work with people who have very high prescription like myself. She gave me a quote & I am now waiting on a second round of testing to see if I qualify for Microlasik. I was blown away by how friendly and genuine everyone at the office is. More to come after additional testing. ****UPDATE I had my second visit here. They checked my eyes again & I met with Christine to discuss payment options & medical procedures. They have no interest payment plans which makes the cost easier to handle. They had to squeeze my oil glands in my eyes bc they're dry. Horrible experience! Painful to say the least. This is an all encompassing review from consult to months out from the procedure. From beginning to end, the staff was wonderful. They were always professional and kind. Many of them had gone through SMILE or traditional LASIK themselves, so they knew most of any apprehensions I would have. The initial consult went like a typical optometrist appointment. Measurements taken, 1 or 2, 1 or 2, 1 or 2. Which is better 1 or 2? The difference was that it wasn't for contacts or glasses this time around. It was so that I wouldn't have to wear them anymore. After measurements were made, a discussion or what procedure, if any, would be appropriate was had. During the consult, it was determined that SMILE would be the ideal procedure. Everything from the procedure to the progression of healing and potential side effects were discussed. It was pleasant and not pushy. It was easy to schedule and reschedule. The actual procedure day was in the City of Industry with Dr. Erica Liu who was good at explaining what was going to happen. Her staff was even better at running through what to expect afterward and easing any initial fears. The SMILE procedure itself was one of the more unusual sensations I've ever had to go through, but the results are well worth it. My vision has never been this good, and the recovery time is insanely rapid. The initial halos at night disappeared within 2 weeks and the dry eye disappeared in the same time frame. I know individual results are different, but I'm very satisfied with the outcome. If I had more than two eyes, I'd do it again in a heartbeat. read more

It'll be two years since my procedure this upcoming December, and it's been a life changing experience. Didn't realize how annoying glasses/contacts were until I had the procedure done. For instance, being able to lay in bed without having my glasses becoming uncomfortable, able to eat without having my lenses getting foggy, and not having to switch between glasses and prescription sunglasses. Overall, I have been enjoying my new vision ever since. Appreciate all the staff that helped me throughout the whole process. Every visit I was greeted with a warm welcome by Nhi in the front and leading up to my procedure, Phoebe helped me with my pre-tests and explained each test. I just finished my lasik surgery about a month ago, and the recovery progress is fast for me. As someone who wore glasses since when I was an eleven years old (22 years old now), this is just surreal. I was very nervous at first, but the process is faster than I thought, even though everything seemed to be in slow motion when I first sat on the surgery chair. They gave me two little thingies for squeezing during the surgery, that helped! My eyes have been healing very well, today, I decided to leave this review. I went on my dads and my friends recommendation for lasik surgery. Upon arriving, i was greeted by the staff and I was not expecting much. To my surprise, the staff was extremely helpful and knowledgable. Dr. Nguyen was also extremely helpful determing my eligibilty. I was able to schedule my surgery that same weekend, but I ended up scheduling 3 weeks later with Dr. Kao. Upon arriving to the Rowland heights office on the day of the surgery, the staff was just as knowledgeable and helpful as the westminster location. I went through a series of test before I met with Dr. Kao and my surgery. Dr. Kao is extremely knowledgable and helpful prior and during the surgery. He reassured me I was in good hands. He was very skillful and fast during the exam. It ended before I knew it. I went home, took a sleeping pill and slept for the rest of the day. The next day, I woke up with perfect vision to my surprise. Overall, I would recommend coming to the Westminster location for your consulation with Dr. Nguyen and get your surgery done with Dr. Kao. I was initially really intimidated by the whole SMILE procedure, but staff members like Dr. Liu and Christine have really helped me feel comfortable with the whole process whether it be confronting any doubts I had or being patient with me in the eye tests. If you're thinking about vision correction surgery, this is definitely the place to do it. The process from consultation to surgery to post op has been very smooth for me. I got the SMILE procedure done in May and am very pleased with the results! I came last December for a free consultation and felt very welcomed as soon as I entered the office. Josie and Diane at the front desk were very kind and attentive when I walked in and even offered me water while I waited. During my consultation Dr. Nguyen and Christine were amazing! Christine was my counselor and she explained to me how payment worked and which procedure would be best for me. Dr. Nguyen was very informative in explaining the procedures and made me feel very comfortable! Christine was very accommodating in terms of my schedule because I go to a school out of state and helped me get an appointment for surgery in May. Dr. Erica Liu was my surgeon and I couldn't have asked for a better person to do it. She thoroughly reviewed my chart and told me the pros and cons with the surgery and it was extremely helpful in my understanding. She made me feel relaxed during the surgery and it was super quick (about 20 min or so). The post op is very simple and you do a follow up the next day, then a week, and then a month follow up. Very flexible scheduling and time too because they operate on the weekends as well and have many other locations besides this one! This place is one of the BEST, if not THE BEST eye lasik surgery facilities ever! I would recommend anyone who wants/needs lasik done to go here! The receptionists to the doctors and even the consultants made me feel like I was family. Everyone there seemed like they enjoyed what they did and how they did things. Upon arriving to my appointment, I was immediately greeted with hellos and smiles by the receptionists at the the front desk (Diana & Annie). After filling out some forms which took about a minute, they instantly took me to the back for my eye exam. The technicians Phoung and Trish were a great combo in examining my eyes, they knew exactly what they were doing. Then afterwards Dr. Nguyen, who is very energetic and full of life, double checked to see if I was a candidate for the surgery, which I was. After the eye exams, I sat down with the consultants Christine & Josie to be the step-by-steps of how the procedure was going to be, which was scheduled easily for the next day.. The day of the surgery I went to their offsite surgery facility in the City of Industry. There I sat down with Dr. Liu to go over the procedure one last time. Everything was fast and overwhelming, but it was finished within minutes! Post surgery I had some discomforting and blur vision but after a few days I felt like my vision was clearer, I basically had new eyes! Everyone in this office is super nice, they go above and beyond to make sure you're comfortable. The three ladies that helped me when I went was Karen, Christine, & Dr. Nguyen. They walk you through everything to make sure you understand & answer any questions that you have. My boyfriend got his Lasik done somewhere else but he said that this place was so much nicer and better than where he went. Not to mention, the office is extremely clean and nice, they have a big waiting room with comfy couches to sit on while you wait. For the first 2-3 weeks you will see a glare but after that your eyes are back to normal. I am so glad I went through with this procedure and I regret not getting both eyes done but I will come back here in the future. Love the service here. It's been about a month sincemy surgery, but the experience has been easy from beginning to end. After coming back from vacation and dealing with constant dry eyes and irritation from contacts, I decided to take the plunge and scheduled a consultation. A bunch of tests were done to ensure that I was a good candidate. A second appointment was made to discuss payment and pricing, as well as additional tests. My eyes were pretty dry, so they recommended that I use drops prior to the surgery. A goodie bag was given to me, which contains lubricant eye drops, antibiotic drop, and instructions of what to do prior, the day of, and post surgery. A third appointment was made and that was for the surgery itself. Prior to surgery, I had to use some lubricant eye drops and antibiotic eye drops. Prepare to spend about 3 hours at the City of Industry office, as they continue to do more tests to make sure your eyes are good to go. I have to admit, I was really nervous for the surgery, but Dr. Lin and his staff were really nice and great about talking me through it and help me keep calm. The surgery itself lasted 20 minutes, and then you're good to go. Make sure you have someone drive you home! My eyes were stinging once the numbing drops wore off (normal), but they gave me an Ambien and I was KOd for the rest of the night. The next day I came in for post op appointment, to make sure that everything was alright. Another appointment was made a week post op at the local office to track the progression. I have to say, I still worry that that my vision isn't 100% yet, but I know that it takes 3-6 months for full recovery (I'll update after a few months) I would definitely recommend IQ laser vision due to their service and ensuring that everything is set to go prior to the procedure. Shout outs to Dr. Lin, Dr. Nguyen, Karen, Trish, Kevin, Christine, Josie, Annie and all the staff at IQ for being so awesome and caring. SMILE! Which is the procedure that I have decided to go with and what I left the facility with. The staff are so caring and excited for what they work for. By talking to them, you can thoroughly see that they believe in what they do and are always open for questions. I go to this location for check-ups and without fail the staff are so welcoming. It is so easy to reschedule. Even though they are open two days a week, they will always fit you in at another location based on your schedule. I would say the only downside for me is how dry my eyes are especially in the winter since the weather is also dry. Hopefully, the dryness will get better in the summer. The whole transaction from when I contacted Christine to after procedure was very smooth and amazing. There were not dried eyes affect with SMILE procedure and I was able to see the next day after procedure. Their new equipment was so updated that I didnot need to dilate my eyes with drops which caused the blurr affect. I had my follow up appointment here after my SMILE procedure and Dr. Nguyen was great! She was very attentive and helped me with my discomfort in my eyes. The prescribed antibiotic drops made me feel nauseous and when I told Dr. Nguyen she worked with me to prescribe a different one. She was very attentive and took her time with me. I never write reviews but I had to write a review for IQ Laser Vision! Consultation was quick and easy. Dr. Nguyen examined me and made sure I was qualified to get lasik. I had mild dry eyes so she started me on artificial tears and xiidra and made sure I was ready for my procedure. And since I did have eyelash extensions at the time (which I don't recommend to have before procedure!), I had to have extra clean lashes. It was definitely a lot of work for me doing all these extra things (especially since I'm noncompliant myself working in a medical field heh...), but I was motivated to get rid of wearing glasses and wearing contacts all the time! Also a huge shoutout to Christine!! She explained everything thoroughly and made sure I understood all the risks and complications. Though I understand she's a busy person, she really took the time to discuss everything with me. She reassured me when I was anxious or hesitant about the procedure. She was always a call or text away when I had any questions or concerns. Though it is not necessary to take any anti-anxiety meds prior to procedure (my brother had it done last year here as well and he didn't take anything and was fine), I am generally an anxious person. Since my brother didn't take anything I figured I would be fine as well...but the week of procedure I was waking up in the middle of the night just super nervous the day of. Christine made sure they gave me something prior to procedure to help take the edge off! The day of procedure (done in City of Industry location), they did a variety of tests before procedure (so be ready to be there for at least 3 hours). Dr. Richard examined me day of procedure and made sure everything was good to go. I took half an anti-anxiety pill (since I usually have low tolerance with meds) 30 minutes prior to procedure. Dr. Lin did my procedure, he answered all the questions I had and during the procedure he made sure I was comfortable throughout. The staff during the procedure even held my hand which really helped a lot when there was some pressure going into my eye. The procedure itself took only 20 minutes! It was definitely quick and easy. I went home and slept until the next morning with the sleeping pill they gave me. Post op day 2 today and I'm almost 100%! Dr. Richard checked my eyes today and told me I'm on the right track :) So happy I'm no longer four-eyed! After giving up hope that I would not be able to get lasik due to my high prescription -7 and -7.5 with astigmatism and wearing glasses since age 5 and contacts since age 14, I regained hope and new vision! I got my lasik done last Thursday. It's been a week since then and my vision's awesome now! When I came in for consulting and tests on Wednesday, the staff here was amazing. Every procedure was explained beforehand and the staff are all so professional and caring. I had a really good time here and thought they were super nice. Came in for a check-up today and it was very fast. Checked my left eye to make sure everything was fine. Their staff just seemed genuinely happy to see me. I think that's really cool. Had ICL and Lasik here. Having -12 myopia is not ideal...and not being able to see past 20/25 my whole entire life was unfortunate. I came in for the LASIK procedure during the summer before school started and I really love all the staff and doctors here. They're incredibly nice, patient, and professional. I just turned 20, which is a bit earlier than the average person who gets LASIK, but that's okay. At first, I was terrified at the thought of having a flap cut out of my eye, but during the consultation, I learned that you cannot go blind from the procedure. However, you could go blind if you continue to use contacts because there are more risks as you get older. I felt really nervous right before the surgery but the staff talked to me and made me feel more relaxed. The procedure was surprisingly short, about 15 minutes total for both eyes. They will answer any questions you have, even during the surgery (which was what I did because I like knowing exactly what's happening to my eyes lol). I used to have a prescription of -9 in both eyes. Now I see 20/20 and am super ecstatic I don't have to deal with glasses and contacts anymore! Went in for a consultation on Tuesday, came back for the LASIK surgery on Thursday, came back Friday morning for the next day check up, and finished up the next Wednesday for the week post op - everything went seamlessly. I had the consultation at the Westminster location. Everyone was very nice and friendly and made it very easy for me to make the decision to take the plunge. They walked me through all the steps and made sure I understood everything. The actual surgery took place in City of Industry. I had the same great service at this location. So this review is for day after I had done my surgery at the city of industry location . I was directed here for my check up the day after my surgery . First of all let me tell you ... I can't believe I'm driving and seeing clearly literally the NEXT DAY. Anyways I walked in the office and I was actually really glad to see some familiar faces and doctors from the other location so this made me feel more comfortable again . But even so the front desk receptionist was attentive and nice like the others. The lady Dr. Hwuang or Nguyen? Sorry :( I forget they sound the same .. and not good at name at all ... was very caring during check up and told me exactly what was going on with my eyes , dryness , if I needed to take care of my eyes in a more specific way. .She prescribed me certain eyedrops needed for me to take. It's something minor but . .. I mean who can not be concerned about ..Ur EYES .. So I believe Josie who was very sweet... she was the one giving me all the details of each dosage of eyedrops and last final details . And shout out to the "nurse"? who has the same birthday as me . I got my LASIK procedure done a few weeks ago at IQ Laser vision. My primary office is the one in Westminster (all their offices are clean, spacious and welcoming). I've had a great experience overall with the initial consultation, surgery, and checkups. All of the staff are very kind and attentive and will take the time to explain everything to you. The consultation is thorough and this is when they'll take the time to explain pricing to you. From there, I was able to schedule a date for the surgery very quickly. I went to the office in the City of Industry to have the actual procedure done - also a very quick and thorough process at the hands of the attentive doctor and his assistants. It is more than a year now since my operation. My eyes are doing great. I found my unused glasses the other day and remembered when I had to wear them every day. How my life has changed now that I don't need glasses anymore. I still have 20/20 vision! As for the dry eyes, it is much better. I only need lubricant eye drops maybe once a day on some days. I did have sensitivity with bright lights, but that has improved as well. I'm still grateful for IQ Laser, Dr. Lin, and his staff for improving my eye sight! read more
