The taste was good but very very little beef compared to other Korean restaurants. For almost $19, it is a rip off. Maybe you can get more beef if dine in. Will I go back, probably not. My boyfriend and I spontaneously chose to come here for my birthday dinner and we really enjoyed it. We were in the Ala Moana area and I remember seeing Ireh on fiveftfoodie's Instagram, I had been wanting to try kimchi sundubu jjigae and tteokbokki. We ordered those and the meat jeon, loved them all. The huge portions are worth it for the price. Absolutely nothing to complain about - short wait time for both the table and food (even on a Friday night), the staff checked on us a lot, really nice interior, free parking. Haven't been here since they moved and my New Year's resolution made me come here for their ultra healthy/delicious veggie bibimbap. Tastes exactly how I remembered it and the service was A1. it was busy for weekday lunch. all 3 waitresses ignored my waving to them just 2 ft away from me as they walked toward & focused on the kitchen -- poor or non-existent training. (later, i figured these waitresses likely spoke little or no English & i didn't look like i spoke Korean, so they shunned having to have a conversation in English. Karch Kiraly, U.S. Olympic volleyball coach, said something like "i'll tell you (his players) where to look," implying that while players are playing, you do as i say or there's consequences.) for that m expected to pay 15% tip -- nuts! i asked the boss lady (with the hand-held ordering/billing device) what's tteobokki? she answered "rice cake" & said no more (like E.A. Poe's raven). and i'm supposed to be tantalized with their menu showing tteobokki with ramen or udon or other more starch?! -- poor or non-existent training. their menu is just a listing, like you're in an Army mess hall. maybe it's like an ethnic fast-food buffet: you point to the food items you want; if you have to ask what's that? (in an unlabeled compartment), maybe you ought to eat somewhere else! management must have little desire to get diners who are not Korean -- which is OK; hey this is the USA -- go vote with your feet. the tea was very good. read more

This place is simply amazing. It's one of the times where you don't want to tell too many people because you love it so much. The staff is beyond friendly and attentive. The food is amazing - we had the cheese tteokbokki, meat jun and beef soft tofu soup. Probably would've licked the plate if it wasn't in public. I'm so happy Ireh Ke'eamoku is back! I'm a big fan of their vegetable and seafood chlorella jook and it's nourished me for over 12 years on this island. It's like medicine for when I'm staving off a migraine or not feeling well. They have many of the same folks from the old location, so when I walked into their new restaurant, I received the warmest greetings from the aunties, like I was coming home from a long absence! Waiter was nice. Banchan was the least impressive I've seen at a Korean restaurant, literally just kimchi and pickled onion. Made the mistake of ordering the bulgogi bibimbap. Tiny amount of beef which was cold. Tiny amount of rice and thinly shaved unfermented/marinated veggies. Was more of a salad or snack than a meal. Price was too expensive for a basic dish. Had to go to Don Quixote to get some more food as I was still hungry. Not a good experience. read more

the owners and workers were so friendly! super nice and clean there. the food was sooooo good as it had a good portion where I couldn't even finish everything. I ate the ireh chicken and honestly that was the best chicken i've had in a while. even the side dishes were delicious. my friend had the meat jin and he said it was one of the best he's had too. my other friend also had the dumpling with rice cake soup i think. overall super good 11/10 recommend. the prices were around $13-20. they also have parking i think on the second or third floor of the building!!! read more

Three friends came together for an early holiday meal. We ate family-style: Garlic shrimp, kimchi pancake, fried mandoo, and beef bulgogi. All the dishes were tasty. Only two banchan. I miss the spinach, bean sprouts and cucumbers that are often served at other places. The restaurant was clean, and service was friendly and prompt. Next time, I will try other dishes since there's an extensive menu. There is ample parking, but it was hard for all of us to find. Here is my best tip: Ireh is on the first floor of the building at the corner of Makaloa and Keeaumoku, across from Walmart. Heading mauka, the parking entrance is on Keeaumoku. Do what you need to do so you can make a right turn into the building parking. Do NOT try to make a left turn from Keeaumoku. read more

The food is always amazing. I've been coming to Ireh for so many years(even at their old location)and order takeout often. The older Korean ladies are always so sweet and give the best service. They have been giving consistent and amazing service for so many years. HOWEVER when I went tonight(1/4/24), the young girl working had terrible service. The short girl with the Hello Kitty necklace was disrespectful and her attitude was so disappointing. When we walked in, there was no greeting. When we sat down, she said nothing while tossing the menus at us and immediately walked away. When she brought out the silver wear and banchans I made sure to say thank you. Completely ignored me. Every time she brought something, I would smile and say thank you, yet she would turn her head and just walk away. I asked if we could order, she went to ask another guy to take our order even though she was taking other people's order. He was very respectful towards us and gave us great service. When she was passing out tea, even though we sat closest to the kitchen, she went to EVERYONES table besides us. We had to ask her to bring to our table. We asked for things like the check and she said "Ok" and never brought it. I had to ask the nice guy who took our order and he brought it right away. She was rude to us but when male customers would come in she was so sweet, smiling, laughing, and even making jokes. Not once did she look at us with a smile. I guess she also messed up the order next to us(they were missing a dish) and let her know multiple times and she didn't do anything so they ended up flagging down the male server to help them. Not once was she apologetic or showed any care. Left 20% anyways and on the way out also said thank you. The guy said thank you back but she completely ignored. As we were going to the parking upstairs, she also was dead staring my aunty and I through the glass while we were waiting for the elevator. If it was just myself and not my aunty, I don't mind. I've been in restaurant and service industry for 8 years and I understand she's a girl who probably is having a bad day. What bothers me is the double standard she had towards my aunty and I and the male customers and how she showed that through our entire experience there. As us Gen Zs say; "it's giving pick me." Absolutely love the food and ambiance here but she really left a bad taste in our mouths. read more

This is my go-to spot for a rainy day, or when I need some nurturing comfort home food. The Korean ladies in the kitchen know what's up!!! Their spicy pork tteokbokki is so good, I close my eyes and smile whenever I eat it. I see a lot of people getting the cheesy option, which I am sure is good too, but I love the sweet and spicy sauce. This was the first time we went to Ireh Korean restaurant. we love Korean food and friends have mentioned how good the food was, so being in the neighborhood last night we gave it a try. it's a small restaurant, with a minimal feel, clean and comfortable. The food is good, however some dishes take a very long time to come out of the kitchen, like the Red Bean Soup with noodles. When I ordered there was no mention that they had to basically soak the beans to be ready to cook to make soup. I waited for probably 20 minutes. My wife already had her meal so I told her to start. I believe, I could be wrong, but I think the "take out" orders maybe take priority. Now, this isn't a cheap place as far as Korean restaurants go. Our two bowls of soup came out to $38 and change, basically $18 & $19 respectfully. The thought of going back to try different dishes is a possibility, but not in the near future. Had to try Ireh at their ground floor location at the new Azure condo building, and I'm so glad I did. Their mandoo, kim bap, and taegu are delicious but I also tried the perilla noodles with mushrooms. So good, so filling. Service was great - attentive, friendly, generous with the brown rice tea. The menu is quite extensive so lots of new things to try. Parking is easy. Looking forward to going back. read more
