I love the vibe at Irish, however, the last several times the beer on tap tastes like dirty socks. I have had to trade my tap beer for a bottle three times since last May. I think they need to clean their machines. I don't know if it's all the beers, but it is definitely 805 and kilt lifter. The worst part is that no one seems to give a crap at all. When I took it back to the bar, they acted like I was crazy. I said just taste it and you will see exactly what I'm talking about. They should fix it before someone gets sick, it is definitely rancid. Ugh! read more

Great place!!! Great food (Lamb stew is phenomenal) Fish and chips are delicious light batter. Burgers are great!!! With many varieties of Burgers. Mussels are excellent. Make sure they are served hot temp wise as th big bowl of them the heat dissipates quickly and I ask for white wins sauce not the red tomato sauce which is on the menu and they accomadate this menu change! Everything I have had there is great!!! Bangers and Mash. Big breakfasts. Full fun har. Pool table area. Smoking enclosed area attached outside but covered. Tables in the back bar area that is allows more privacy. Nice wood flops and wood paneling. Just reall a great place Trivia nite hands even during the week and of course Weekends with live music. Staff are always great friendly and knowledgeable and timely with their service I've never had dessert there so can't speak about that... Pub burger was just what i asked for. They had good service and helped explain what they had for any adjustment i had on my burger.

Big fan as a Notre Dame Alumni but tonight's issue may detour me. We ordered food and drinks, paid the bill and decided we wanted to have more drinks. We ordered some shots and other drinks but when we ordered another round of shots they never arrived. We asked the waitress about them and we were told they were delivered and they were not. So after disagreements with the manager she left went and got the 3 missing shots, problem solved right...no they added 3 more shots to our bill that we didn't agree to and when I asked about it the manager was argumentative and actually rolled her eyes when I shared my concerns over it and then stated we agreed to it and I didn't and I was paying the bill. End of day we never got the 3 missing shots and then got charged for 3 more that we didn't order. Terrible experience. Right thing was to just refund the 3 shots or comp the 3 shots to begin with. Such a disgrace and not sure I'll ever be back now. So disappointing as a regular and I spend so much time there watching Irish football. I'm saddened by this experience. read more

Came in mid-week just for a couple of beers. I intended on sitting at the bar as I did my only other time at this establishment. It was completely full, so I settled for a seat in the dining area. Though there were few others in the dining area, and it seemed like at least three servers, it took a while for anyone to take my order. Placed an order for a Coors Light and got it in a reasonable time. No one came to see if I wanted another until several minutes after I finished the first. While I would have like another, by that time I was ready to go. Told girl I was ready to pay and gave her a $20. She returned with my change, tossed it down, and hurried off. Upon counting it, I realized she brought me only $11 back. While it is possible, I felt it unlikely they are charging $9 for a pint of Coors Light. For a couple of minutes, I tried get the attention of any of the servers who all seemed too busy to look my way (still, there were no more than five parties in the dining area). Frustrated, I left a smaller tip than I would typically and left feeling scammed. read more

Very yummy food. We've been here twice now and have had 4 different things; we loved them all. Last trip was the Brie Sliders (super delicious) and the Bacon & Cabbage (surprisingly filling). This trip we had the Shepherd's Pie & Beef Barley Soup Combo (yummy but both needed salt) and the Dublin Coddle (huge portion of food). The reason for 4/5 stars is because we were there for an hour and 50 minutes total. Lunch should NEVER take that long. Service was really slow but that won't keep us from coming back. The minute we walked into this establishment, we were shocked at the lack of cleanliness, trash in the entry way, vinegar bottles were greasy, spot and grease stains on silverware. It blew my mind as this was a fun place to visit once in awhile. Food was also mediocre, our server worked very hard to make our dining experience pleasurable but the cleanliness issue was an issue one can't forget. We all agreed that the fish was dry and bland, very little taste. The ff were average but the portions was small .We were a group of 3 adults and 3 kids. I am in love with this place. It's been on my to-do list for a while but I'm never in the neighborhood. Just by accident, my husband and I drove past on other errands and he pointed it out. I was excited to have found it! So of course, we had to go in. Being a self-proclaimed fish and chips connoisseur, my hubs got the fish and chips which he loved. He let me try and it was fresh, not greasy, and flaky. The tartar sauce was homemade and so were their chips and coleslaw! You know that sickly sweet taste of fast food coleslaw? Yeah, you don't get that here. It's crunchy and soooo good. I couldn't resist getting their Irish Wolfhound Stew. A leg of lamb and stew bits. My god. Best lamb I have ever tasted. Best stew I have ever tasted. And the plate was so large! Everything was fresh. Service was fast and friendly. Pricing was great. We couldn't stop exclaiming at how wonderful it all tasted and how we needed to come back and try everything else. If I had to make any criticism at all, it was the bread they served with my stew. It was also homemade but I was unused to the taste and texture. And it's probably me, not them. I'd just never had that kind of bread before. It was brown and tasted like a mix between rye and cornbread. I'll give it another shot next time. Oh, did I mention the decor? It's so cute inside! The food came out fairly quickly, and was all very good. The group used this venue to plan a trip to England/Scotland/Ireland, so it put us in a great mood for discussion. This place totally sucks. Woman bartender was totally unresponsive. Finally able to place a food order. i could see my food order on the kitchen counter. Waited countless minutes. No service. pounded on bar top to get some attention. A very rude, table waitress came over. She told me to calm down. I told her to get my food that had been chilling for ten minutes. The table waitress brought my food, and SLAMMED, it down in front of me with a visible horrible sneer. I had no eating utensils, which she didn't provide. Finally, this horrible bartender lady returned to give me eating utensils and napkin. She also finally took another drink order. The table waitress was one of the most horrible experiences I've had. Instead of getting my food, placing it in front of me in a diligent, caring manner, asking me if she could get me something else, she slammed the plate down, sneered and walked away. I get it that bar service was not her area, but still on duty, no area should be exempt from her service. Interestingly though, she didn't seem to hesitate to get behind the bar and pour and serve drinks as an undocumented bar tender. Food was cold. I get it, not everyone likes Irish food but this place has something for everyone! The meatloaf is mouthgasmic and so is the turkey po boy. I go nuts over the cranberry mayo that comes with it. Also try the Irish steak sandwich and the potato leek soup. Even if they didn't have good food, I'd come just for the prickly pear martini. It is THAT GOOD!! My only complaint is that my food often needs salt but I like my food insanely salty so maybe that won't be an issue for you. They also have live bands on Saturdays and some dancin going on if you wanna shake that booty after a few beers. There aren't a lot of cool bars in Surprise, but I recommend you check this one out! read more

We have had their burgers (Awesome!!), pretzel appetizer, sliders (beef tenderloin & Brie; fried cod, reuben), mussels & clams appetizer (don't recommend) fish & chips (usually always good & on Fridays for $20, all you can eat fish & chips. There was 2 times where you can taste their oil needed to be changed), turkey club sandwich. Staff always friendly!!! Chairs not so comfy, unless you get lucky & get a booth! So we gave it another shot as the bulk of the family loves the fried fish!! It looks amazing and smells great, seriously they love it! I can't eat it... it's not gluten free so it's off limits for me. I got a steak and a chicken dinner with just mashed potatoes no gravy. It was the worst steak o think I've ever had... ordered med, it was like jerky. I'm a foodie, so the guys thought they would eat it and NOPE, it got tossed back on my plate. Chicken- same, my gluten free kid barely touched it or the potatoes. I tried both and they were awful as well. Throwing salt didn't change the potatoes and the chicken so overcooked it was not edible either. The plates sat mostly untouched and no comment made although my glass was kept refilled. I was asked if I wanted a box and replied no, I wouldn't eat out here so why would I carry it home?? The steak was taken off the bill and she never mentioned the chicken. I won't go back, it's a bar, bar food... I can drink anywhere but I want to enjoy the food as well.. family can go eat the fish without me! read more

We used to come here all the time when we lived in the area. Great atmosphere and food. So we stopped by again yesterday for lunch. As soon as you walk through the door you feel transported to large Irish Pub. Dim lighting, cool air and dark, heavy wood floors, furniture and moldings. The large, wrap around bar sits between two separate rooms on either side of the large main dining area. One room has two pool tables, dart boards and pub tables while the other room is a semi private room for entertaining. There is a small stage where bands play most weekends or karaoke & trivia are played. If you're lucky enough you might catch an Irish duo playing guitar & singing songs from Ireland. The wings are unexpectedly fabulous coming from an Irish pub. The Guinness Battered Fish & Chips, Beef & Barley Soup, Shepards Pie and the Reuben Sandwich on Rue are MUST tries!!!
