First time trying this place and it was really good! Located in front of the Don quijote parking structure. We ordered a shrimp and calamari steak combo ($19) and got it with yakisoba (+$2) and spicy garlic sauce, so a total of $21 for one plate. He said it'd be about 10 mins so we left to buy something and came back. The sauce was super good and he even gave some extra spicy sauce on the side. The shrimp and calamari were cooked well and I liked the spinach salad that we just ate together with all the noodles. I'd love to come back and try a different combo but can't come that often since price is a little high. But if you are willing to splurge a little the quality and taste makes it worth it. read more

I mean, they put way too much garlic on it that at some point it subsides the taste of the dish. Rice was almost swamp with sauce that taste salty. Not just a lil bit salty but every time I chewed the food, saltiness seems to follow on it. Tossing the green salad on the plate is pretty impressive. Love the dressing! Customer is really great. I had just finished working at like 8:30 and went to Don quijote to do some grocery shopping. But of course, I was tired and feeling a bit lazy and decided that I'd just get a take out plate from iron grill for dinner instead. The delicious smell of garlic coming from the food truck helped my decision as well. I ordered a steak plate and the workers were really friendly. They saw my empty reusable shopping bags and said I could go shopping and come back to pick up my food. When I got home, I dived into the Steak plate. It was garlicky and saucy. It comes with some mixed greens and I forgot to get dressing, but since I was at home, I just used my own dressing. Don't forget to get dressing before you leave! There was also a ton of rice. I was able to save half for my lunch the next day. I'd come back again. The plates are filling and relatively cheap. I think the quality is probably a bit better than blazing steaks or grylt because they cook the food once you have ordered it. read more

When you get there and are ready to order... they have instructions in how to order and I can't remember what order the instructions came in BUT I ordered steak with mushrooms and the salt, pepper and garlic seasonings with brown rice and organic salad... which looked like tossed greens... still was ono... as for the steak... seasoned well and made to order... taste was delish and tastes really ono fresh off the grill! We live near Don Quijote Kaheka and whenever I'm lazy to cook lunch or dinner, Iron Grill Hawaii is my go-to food truck. For less than 10 dollars you get restaurant style Steak, veggies (or if you want additional veggies, they can do that for you), choice of carbs like rice, or noodles and your choice of sauce. Because the Chef is very creative and helpful, I always ask him first his recommendation. The owner of the truck is also the main cook/chef of Iron Grill. Such a hard-worker and very nice too. The spicy garlic wasn't spicy at all, I'm thinking they might have not used the spicy one! The mushrooms didn't taste that good either but it could be that only time it happened. Fast forward to 2016- in addition to a couple of teppanyaki type restaurants in Hawaii there are also food truck style teppanyaki offerings and on top of the heap is Iron Grill Hawaii. On a recent Saturday we went to Iron Grill to pick up dinner. Da wife decided to get the steak with green beans and mushrooms. I ordered the grilled shrimp. The orders come with organic greens and your choice of brown or white rice. Watching the chef grill the steak and shrimp brought back memories of Chaco's Steak House. Expectations matched the actual taste. Yeah, was good! The steak was grilled perfectly and had a delicious sauce that came with it- the green beans and mushrooms, although at an additional cost was well worth it. The steak was tender and flavorful, although there were two small pieces that were tough, the plate was great. The organic greens were a nice compliment. They gave seven pieces of shrimp (number can vary depending upon size) bathed in a delicious garlic sauce. They are very generous with the rice servings. First off, every vegetable is extra. And you barely get any vegetables added. The menu was simple enough so we ordered a garlic shrimp plate and prime steak plate. As you wait for your food to to be freshly made, you stand around the truck listening to some pumping music. He has a real flat grill right in the truck, and does he teppanyaki jams right in front of your eyes. Its not a full on Tanaka of Tokyo show, but he does a flip of his knife here and there, which is cool. Our food came out fairly quickly, in about 10 minutes. The food was DELICIOUS. Everything is covered in garlic, so be warned. Luckily we love garlic so everything from the steak to the shrimp to the fried rice and mushrooms were very tasty and filling. The steak was good, a little chewy on a few bites but it had good flavor. The Shrimp however was amazing. It can with the shell half split. Yet they still held onto their spicy level. That little thing can pack in a lot of food. I thought I was still going to be hungry but I barely finished half. The shrimp was way I liked it; juicy, tender, and no shell! YAY! The steak was great as well but I wish it was medium rare instead of medium/medium well. It's quite hard to focus when she kept doing that and I almost walked away because of that tbh.
