Killed the battery. spent 4 hours by the time I went to Mazda and found out the warranty was void due to the aftermarket device was installed. When we tried to use it to repair a curb rash issue, the claim to the First Automotive has taken over two months to pay to the vendor we used for the repair. This dealership, their general manager, even their service team subscribe to the old school model of "take the customer for all you can". DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. They'll take advantage of you... or try to. Latest experience was the worst and the one worth mentioning: I wanted to execute the buyout option on my lease. I explicitly stated I wouldn't be wanting any options added to the deal. Rep essentially said no problem, but there was a $1000 fee for processing the lease buyout. My contract explicitly stated there was a zero dollar fee for this. After I was told there is a fee at all dealerships for this I contacted two other Acura dealerships for confirmation, both stated that the fee doesn't exist and that dealerships have been instructed to stop adding nonsense fees like this by corporate. These other locations seemed shocked to hear that Irvine is being operated this way. A note to those who don't know, when you buyout a lease you're only on the hook for $85 Cali doc fee, DMV fees like tags title and registration, any remaining lease payments, tax, THATS IT unless your contract specifies otherwise. Long story long, if you're interested in Acura go somewhere else. There is zero customer consideration, interest in customer retention, etc. It's a cliche to say, but I wish I could give zero stars, Yelp doesn't allow for it. read more

Wanted to test drive a USED Type R and the guy said no test drives unless it's a serious inquiry. Dude, it's a used car. How do I make a decision if I can't even test drive. Taking my business elsewhere or back to the Acura dealership which let me test drive their Type S. Also, I am a long time Acura and Honda owner, disgusting dealership. I even have an FK8 Type R. I had inquired online for a car and received straight forward upfront pricing as I noted that I was not in the immediate area, though would have driven for the right deal. I ended up getting a slightly better deal elsewhere though I commend this dealership for upfront pricing and not playing the games of many other dealers. So ended up referring a friend here and he ended up purchasing a car through them and was satisfied overall with the experience and the fact that with everything negotiated upfront, he was able to get in/out in record time, which is rare for most dealerships who love to make you wait, just so they feel they have control. I am extremely disappointed with how this dealership handled a brake caliper issue on my Acura. I was told that a failed caliper was considered a "consumable" item -- comparable to brake pads, tires, or a battery -- and therefore not covered under my extended Acura Care 100,000-mile warranty from Acura. Even more concerning, this determination came directly from the General Sales Manager. A brake caliper is a critical mechanical component of the braking system. It is not a wear-and-tear item like brake pads or tires. After reviewing the Acura Care warranty documentation myself, I found no language supporting the claim that calipers are consumables or excluded as routine maintenance items. When senior leadership provides an interpretation that appears inconsistent with the written warranty terms, it raises serious concerns about transparency and accountability. Customers purchase extended warranties for protection and peace of mind -- not to be told that major components are suddenly "consumable" when a claim is made. This experience felt dismissive and misleading. I expect better from an authorized Acura dealership, especially when it comes to honoring warranty coverage accurately and in good faith. read more

Came here to get a good deal on ZDX lease. Overall the experience for the deal was not pressured and there was little to no negotiations. The issue is with the service department and the way the sales teams wanted to handle a repair that we saw on the leased car. There was an obvious panel that was not clicked in. This is when the shenanigans started. Was told that this was an easy fix and to take delivery of the car. Service didn't call me for 2 weeks to schedule and was told that they would be able to pop it back in or they have to order a part. Schedule for a Saturday and come in was told it probably take like 45 minutes to pop it in and like 20 to 30 for a car wash, said okay let me know if it doesn't go in. Get the standard text that they are working on the car and thought all was well. Then radio silence. I text them for updates nothing. Call over to the desk no answer. Call again and low and behold the car is sitting there ready. But Ivan the advisor too busy to let me know anything. Alright I pack up my stuff after 2 hours and go up since I never heard from Ivan. Proceed to see him scurrying around and flag him down. Then he tells me car needs parts they couldn't pop it in. Alright now I told you all that I wanted to know if you could do it yes or no today or needed the part, so I could get going and never got an update. Until God's knows how long my car been sitting there where it couldn't be fixed today. Great proceed to be told we'll that's all we can do is have you drive back or go to another dealer and start over. So now I am out double the miles about 120 miles on my lease to get this fixed plus time. Complain and was told Hector the service manager would call and didn't get any update with that. Instead Ivan called and said part was ready... didn't expect this from a premium dealer. Should of not took delivery of the car until they fixed it. Recently leased a new ZDX from Irvine Acura about four weeks ago. Upon examining the car, we noticed the side panel was misaligned and brought it up with our sales rep, who assured us it would be an easy fix, just schedule with service. After 1.5 weeks of no follow-up, we finally got an appointment for nearly 20 days later. On the day of, we drove over 35 miles to the dealership, where they told us the repair would take about 40 minutes, including a car wash. We waited... and waited. In the middle we texted and called the number they provided for updates; no reply at all. Two hours later, they finally came back to say they couldn't fix it after all and needed to order parts--with no ETA. Are you kidding me? No updates while we sat there, no warning before we wasted half our day driving out there, and now we have to do this all over again whenever the parts decide to show up. Another 70+ miles round-trip--for something that should've been handled before we even took the car home. For a brand-new car from a premium brand, this is ridiculous.. I got a referral from my HS friend who had a straight forward, easy to do deal with Jimmy Z for a black/black 2024 Acura ZDX AWD. I emailed Jimmy Z that I needed to bring my mom in to do a test drive and that she was ok with all EV vehicle. I didn't hear back from him and ended up calling the dealership last Mon. The assistant said that Jimmy called in sick. They transferred me to his manager, Deangelo. He said that he could take care us after I explain the referral and deal. When we arrived, I asked for Jimmy just to be sure- and the guy sitting at the front desk who was on his iphone said he was out. I asked for Deangelo and that we had an appt to test drive ZDX AWD. He goes into the back talks (presumably to Deangelo, but that person never came out to greet/speak to us). He comes back and says that he will be taking care of us. His name was Vinny. Nice enough young man. He got the keys for a red one since it was out front for the test drive. He said the black one just got dropped off the truck and was in the back getting prepped. We went to do the street and partial freeway on/off ramp road test. My mom actually like the vehicle so he showed us the actual black unit- it was in the back being charged. He said this was the last one and 2 other ppl were coming down later that were "very" interested. My mom actually said that the black one would be acceptable. Vinny said that the prices went up over the weekend and that they wouldn't be doing the previous deal. Inventory had shrunk so they didn't need to do those deals. When we asked what was the price- he went to get the offer sheet from Deangelo. It was was 44% higher than the deal we had. Outregous, switchoo. We drove 90 minutes from the South Bay thru the beginning of rush hour on the 405. So I was not happy. After seeing the other ratings, my experience does not surprise me now. Dishonest dealership. Poor management: manager who does not come out to speak directly to customer when appointment was with him. When I got home, I got online and reached out to a direct contact at DCH Tustin Acura. They did a straightforward deal. Took delivery last Thursday and paid with Apple Pay with my Apple Card. (I subsequently found out that my HS friend said that Irvine Acura charges 3% to use credit card!) PS ZDX is actually a GM product and you can certainly tell it's non-luxury underpinnings- the center console plastics are very cheap looking as are the lightweight keyfobs. The wireless phone charger is terrible as is the lane centering. Good thing this is a 24 month lease at a fantastic price- and drives well enough- otherwise for a $70.5k vehicle- no front camera, no HUD, no partial auto-drive, and no hands-free trunk. PPS Coming from true luxury brand, it was disappointing to learn that Acura does not have a factory service loaner program. Individual dealers may have some, but they are extremely limited and have to book out several weeks- and not for routine services such as oil changes. Audi, Lexus, MB all offers these truly luxury amenities. read more
