When on the phone, he was very personable, asked questions to learn more about the issue, and even explained in detail his thought process. It was very transparent in terms of what the service and price would look like. He had me call another number to get scheduled which I was able to do very easily. They got someone scheduled at a date/time that was convenient for me, and someone showed up right on time. I had a faulty bathroom fan that was going to be an electrical hazard. Thanks to them, they were able to replace that fan, install a new switch for the bathroom, and even create a new airway for the vent through the roof. I didn't even know I needed all that done, and they were able to do it quickly and efficiently. As the homeowner of a rental property, I was not there when the work was being done, but the technician Justin, was great about calling me when he was on the way, calling me when he was able to diagnose the issue, and texting me when the job was done. Again, very transparent and I could tell this whole team knows what they're doing. My tenant also had great things to say about Justin when he was at the house. She showed me the work he did and explained how thorough and quick he was. This is probably the best experience I've had with a technician for any house work that I've needed to get done. They were great with their communication to let us know they were running a bit late and when they arrived they got straight to work. I gave them a quick tour to see where everything was and they knew exactly what to do. Every step of the way they were showing us the importance of the cleaning and how much it'll benefit our house. They provided before and after pictures along with everything their filter caught from the cleaning. It was clear our house needed it and may have never been done since it was first built. They were incredibly friendly, kind and willing to answer my questions. I appreciate the amazing work they did and the care they put into communicating the progress of their work. Overall the cost was the same that was quoted from the initial call - a little over $700. But it was well worth it, knowing our house is operating more efficiently and safely.

Better Air Northwest sent out an estimator (Eric) for free. He was really nice, helpful, and figured out how to solve our issue for a reasonable price! We received the estimate per email a couple days later and unlike other companies, no pressure was put on us to approve the job right away - instead we were given as long as we needed to discuss and ponder. As soon as we approved the estimate, we were contacted so we could get on the schedule. Somehow Edgar and Juan asked and also answered all the questions at the very beginning and we were able to do other things while they did these 2 jobs like the true professionals they are. They started by taping everything in the room with the closet, and it kept everything so clean! (Although they did clean up after - and left the place tidier than it started haha - not even kidding they cleaned our doormat I forgot to clean prior to their arrival!) He did excellent work and clean-up. Jeremy removed and reinstalled an AC compressor that was blocking access to a main line water leak. He also assessed and serviced two HVAC units in our main home. Rates were very reasonable. Jeremy saved us a ton of money by assessing and tuning up our system ... no pressure to replace our old but functioning HVAC. I'll gladly use Max Air for routing maintenance and for new installation when needed.

They just finished yesterday, and the weather has been quite mild, so we haven't felt the effects of the insulation yet, but I have high hopes we'll see it on this winter's heating bill!

While Dane was wonderful in replacing our water heater's anode rod, it was quite bothersome that we…read morehad to pay $250 to have it replaced on a part covered under warranty. The water heater was installed 2 1/2 years ago by Rivival Heating and the anode rod needed to be replaced because "Portland water is so hard and full of minerals". The original quote for labor alone (not covered under warranty) was $340 but we got the manager to bring it down to $250. Still, the water heater is only 2 1/2 years old and that was an expense we did not anticipate when we bought the water heater. The prior one was not broken but when we had Rivival replace our furnace, they strongly suggested replacing the water heater at the same time. The old one never produced brown water but after just two years, the new one did. Maybe the water heater wasn't as good as the previous one? Not sure... Forgot to add, my home warranty service said they could not reimburse me because this is a "warranty issue". And to be truthful, the furnace job was great! Just wish the water heater repair didn't cost me anything. Next year, when it is out of warranty, I'll be able to file for reimbursement from my home warranty provider.
