I'm so happy with my relationship with AAA. We have used them for semi annual maintenance since they installed our gas heating 15 years ago. The techs they send are always kind and polite, calling when they are on their way to the house. The office staff works with you to schedule the most convenient time and when something goes awry, God forbid, they get someone out as quickly as they can. The techs update the check up list on the front of the unit, so we always know who was there to work on the unit. I trust this company implicitly and recommend them to anyone who asks-and often people who don't! read more

I need some ductwork relocated, so I can put in a new stairway to my basement. Them: "Oh, we don't do that." Me: "What? You run ducting every day." Them: "Yes. But only with furnace or AC installation." Me: "So, you're too big for small jobs." They do not repair systems they do not build. I had a four year old new construction system that has a simple leak at the junction between the refrigerant line and the outdoor unit. They charged me $175 to tell me there is a leak they would not fix. read more

I unfortunately had bad luck with AAA. I had a fantastic experience at first for routine maintenance. For anything beyond routine or emergency work, I'd strongly recommend avoiding AAA Heating & Cooling, particularly if you're not already certain about what you need (important if you want to spend tens of thousands of dollars). Ultimately, the communication was very poor. I initially requested 2 estimates, one in late 2023 and another in early 2024. On the first 2 visits, I was considering an ERV, a mini-split, or multi-head mini-split. After further consultation with 2 other paid energy efficiency specialists (who are impartial), I finally understood what I needed. All that was left was to price out the work and decide how much I wanted to spend. That's when the trouble started with AAA... The 3rd estimate-related visit from AAA in October 2024 started out very rough. I worked so hard up to that point and I was so organized for them. I provided an itemized list for them to consult with me on and either provide an estimate or decline. However, when Joel arrived, he started out with, to paraphrase, "We already provided 7 estimates for you so far and we still haven't earned your work" and implied begrudgingly there was a new huge list of items to make estimates for. While I understand his hesitation, he was completely wrong. I had a total of 3 items estimated on 2 visits before, so that set a negative tone. He declined to provide an estimate for the humidifier/dehumidifiers, which is totally reasonable. That day, we settled on them helping to add dedicated return air ducts in 3 of the rooms upstairs, an upgraded filtered return grille, leveling my existing mini-split unit and AC unit and having them research if they could connect my Ecobee to my existing Honeywell ventilation unit. They provided 2 estimates out of the 3 promised and never got back to me on the 4th item. I tried my best to get them to contact me back to settle specifics on the first 2 estimates (95% of the way there, only minor details remained). However, I received "We're working on it" or "I'll let Joel know" or I got no response at all. Finally by mid-December, not only did I not have any of my last minor questions resolved so we could start work, I received a dismissive "we aren't able to take on this type of work right now" and "reconnect in February to revisit this". After ~1.5 months of engagement on new work, much of which stringing me along with "We'll let you know" (or no response at all), I was offered another 2-3+ months of uncertainty. Not even scheduled, just more of the same. No thanks. read more

The crew was 30 minutes late and didn't apologize upon arrival, they almost lost my cat (blatant disregard for your animal, definitely don't take them up for the offer to come when you aren't home), and misquoted me on the phone and charged me double when they were done. The crew also did not explain how the vent cleaning process works or show me any evidence of the vents actually getting cleaned when they were done. After emailing and not getting a response a week later about my horrible experience, I called their office manager who apologized and said she would call me back about the misquote on price and a discount for the service which I said I deserved after they almost lost my pet by leaving the door wide open my cat was in and the garage door to the outside also open. Never received a call back and it's been another 2 weeks. Seriously!? Absolutely will never use them again. Don't use the company, find someone else who can be on time, have better customer service when things go wrong and can accurately quote prices. read more

AAA came thru for me. The minisplit for my STR (short term rental) died while I had paying guests and it was hot outside. They made room in the schedule. I called at 8 and the guy showed up at 9. Rare to unheard of. Now some of that was good fortune, but still... It took Justin a couple of hours to determine that my AC was brain dead. Instead of telling me see ya next week, Kayla the dispatcher drove to the supplier to pick up one of only 2 PCB boards in stock and dropped it off for Ernesto who came at the end of a long day when his other jobs went long. He stuck around till 7pm. On a Friday. I have been a tech and I know what it feels like to gut it out to serve a client by extending a very long hot day. Now it does not end there. For a reason he could not suss out the AC refused to turn on. We did improvise over the weekend, but Monday morning Ernesto was back with the service manager and the Friday mystery problem was just a wire that did not get all the way plugged in. My takeaway is that you can't fault a guy for a fatigue oversight after he gave over and above 5 star effort as was my entire experience with AAA. I would use them again. I hope the minisplit lives forever, but if it does not I know who to call. read more

I found myself needing to replace my old oil burning furnace from the early 1900s. Christen Haynes was very knowledgeable about the changes in replacing a single vent gravity feed furnace. Her bid was quick, very detailed and 5 to 7 thousand dollars cheaper than other bids using the same or compatible equipment. I had a new heating and cooling system within 5 business days of my accepting their bid! The crew showed up on time both days they worked, always calling 30 minutes before arriving verifying that they were on their way. Both Chris and Angel were outstanding in every way. They did an excellent job installing the interior dual split system as well as the outside unit. They had quite a challenge removing the old heater; which was originally installed first, then the house was built around it. It was an oversized saw dust burner with a huge caste iron center. This removal was simply amazing. In every step of the way, no mater what Chris or Angel were working on, they were both professional and respectful of my space. They always kept my house, yard and basement clean neat and even free of dust. They were respectable of the three dogs and 7 yr old in the house. In fact I think Chris is a dog whisperer. These two installers must be the pride of AAA Heating and Cooling. I would highly recommend AAA Heating and Cooling for completing the service requested at a high quality and a great price. read more

I have been a AAA customer for many years; I maintain both my house and my (quite elderly) parents' home. Yesterday we had my parents' ducts cleaned. My father notified me around 6 PM that his house was getting warm and his thermostat was dead. Apparently the technician, who was on his own and young, told him it needed to stay off for a few hours when he left in the late morning, but hadn't checked the system to see if it would come back on. My fault too, for not going by later in the day. The house (for elders with health issues) was 84 degrees. AAA doesn't provide after hours service. Epic fail. This morning at 8 AM I spoke with Kayla who was understanding, helpful, and calm on the phone. She told me she'd have someone there as soon as they were finished with their first customer of the day and was clear about how much variability that might involve, but also that this was a really high priority for AAA. Andrew came at 10:30 and sorted out the problem right away, recharged their Nest thermostat, and discovered an underlying wiring problem. Excellent service recovery, AAA! read more

Would not recommend... Turned off my furnace unnecessarily when I just wanted them to do routine maintenance. Shut gas off and everything. Left with no options other than "well it will probably cost 10k-15k for a replacement ". Had another reputable company out and they turned back on my furnace and gas and said it properly worked. I never had any issues with my HVAC until AAA came out and shut mine down. The service manager was receptive to my complaint however I can't have this company service my house again. hopefully they will train junior technicians better. read more

The mother board on our furnace broke (which we were informed of by a different HVAC repairman who unfortunately does not service our brand of furnace.) Knowing what our problem was we called AAA who came out and quoted us almost $4k worth of repairs, all the while pushing us to purchase a new furnace, despite the fact that ours was only 12 years old. When we insisted that we only needed the mother board repaired, we were repeatedly told out right that we were wrong and that even with the repairs our furnace was basically on its last legs and that we needed to purchase a new one. We decided to get a third opinion, and were informed that not only could our furnace could be fixed quite easily, but that the parts and repairs we needed would cost less than $1k. When complaining about our experience, we have also heard through the grapevine that AAA is notorious for this kind of business practice. AAA is not interested in servicing and repairing appliances. They simply want to force new, costly purchases and installations on unsuspecting customers. Whatever they quote you, get a second opinion. read more

This review is a little late as it was last January that I had a furnace fire. Initially, they were very responsive to my emergency. When they got there and had to go in a crawl space to replace the heating strip, it quickly turned into "you need a new system." They replaced the strip and the heater worked for all of an hour. I asked them to come back out and replace the motor and they said no, you need a new system. They left me high and dry because the tech didn't want to get dirty. I paid for numerous tech calls, parts and labor - and always at the end of their day. 4pm and later. Not cool. Long story short, I had a another company come and replace the motor and charged way less then AAA - and without the crappy customer service. Yes, my system is on the older side, but it's not a dinosaur. Instead of helping a paying customer out who's house was 30 degrees, they opted to try and make money on charging me for a new system. No Bueno. Find a company that cares about people. read more

I have bought 2 new furnaces and had my yearly check ups by this company for both Mt home and my 2 duplex rentals for several years now. I recently bought a new house in Gladstone Oregon and had it serviced by this company. They recommended a new furnace. I went ahead and ordered it and then my sons found out and said that the furnace that they want me to replace is brand new so I called to cancel and now they want to charge me over $1000 in fees even though I've spent all kinds of money within the last 30 years with their company. A friendly staff member told me that a specialist could come to my house next day without charge and advise. Boomer Grahn from AAA heating and cooling came to my house as promised and on time explaining to me the options available to me. He explained to me in detail the options of furnace, furnace and heat pump and air conditioning as well as costs. He objectively explained the advantages and disadvantages of heat pumps in our climate and certainly did not take sides. I think this review is overdue, because I have been a customer of AAA for many years. They installed an AC and a mini split heat pump at our former house, and an AC, Aprilaire filter, and a solar attic fan at our current home. (I wish they offered a punch card!) They have serviced all of the units as well as our furnace. I have always had a great experience, from the person who answered the phones, to the woman who provided a creative and aesthetically pleasing solution for installing the heat pump, to sales (Eric is very professional, cordial, and not pushy) to the installers and service techs (I can't remember everyone's names, but John, Eugene, and most recently Richard). The service techs are always very courteous and leave the space clean and in great working order. Five stars, two thumbs up! read more

It has only been a couple of hours since the crew from AAA left after cleaning all the ductwork in my rather large home. Wow! The crew, Sean and Stephanie, called when on their way then, arrived on time. And they had it down. We did a walk-thru to make sure they found all the relative vents and then they started. They had a brief chat and got to it. While I mostly stayed out of the way, when I did see them, they were involved with the work and, like I said, they had it down. These two were, clean, efficient, and thorough. When the work was complete, they quickly cleared their equipment and presented the bill. It was pretty great. I waited a few hours to write review. Why? I wanted to understand the difference it made. Wow! It made a surprisingly big difference. Now, what is a big difference? The volume of air through the vents was hugely greater. And frankly, that's all that's suppose to happen. The heater still works the same but there is a lot more of it. That's gotta be less of a strain on the system, I would guess. It's so much better. We had great experiences with three employees. Joe came out for a diagnostic visit on our ancient AC unit. He was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient in determining the issues with the unit and giving us options. We decided to replace the unit and Boomer came to provide an estimate. He was also very courteous and a great communicator. He explained the mechanics of the system in a clear and concise way that was easy to understand. He welcomed questions and took his time to make sure I understood everything.
