Mom wanted soup for lunch (AGAIN) and I wanted a salad but I didn't want Panera's (AGAIN). That's how we ended up at Isaac's. Isaac's menu is mainly sandwiches, salads and flatbreads. There were a few soups available but none really enticed me. Mom went for the soup and half sandwich meal. She chose the pepperjack tomato soup and a half Reuben. She really didn't care for the soup and the Reuben she deemed just "okay". I opted for the ruffle salad and added chicken salad. The salad was large and had a wide variety of typical salad accouterments while the chicken salad was full of cranberries and crunch. Really, it was nothing special, but with the thick housemade ranch dressing, it still was good. It was also large - I brought half of it home. Isaac's was a good change of pace for us. Next time I think I'll try one of their sandwiches. I'm pretty sure mom will skip the soup. read more

Right off the top I have praise and I have "issues". Praise: The young lady T. that worked with us on our visit 30 AUG 23 is a stellar representative for this company. If she wants to stay in this business she will go far. If she chooses something else she will be successful. I have hired/fired, and mentored over the course of a long career in US DoD. This young woman has "it". More than a mere server, she was a guide to our experience. She was the one soul radiating for us (a mixed couple) any kind of welcome or joy that we had chosen her place of business. The other patrons I feel sorry for, not a smile in the bunch. Maybe they are going through terrible things, if so, I pray for their deliverance. Issues: This company needs to get a handle on their web presence, and their various names on various platforms. While there in town, we had difficulty determining where we were going, and which menu mattered. The "name" on our reciept is [Issac's Kraft Kitchen & Brewery]. That does not appear for this location. Not a big deal, but how many engagements are you missing by being "mysterious". My wife got a club (couldn't finish) and pesto tortellini salad. I got a buffalo chicken salad. All the food was well executed, not perfect but good enough at that price point. The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. I ate here 2 weeks ago after returning to the restaurant from 20 years ago . The Mallard (Roast beef) was awesome as I remember it . However, the service was below average but not anything to complain about . However, I walked in today to eat lunch and now I remember why I placed Isaac's on a 20 year ban! Piss poor service . This was my first time where and overall it was ok. Its nice they start your with a free pickle dish. That was different but the pickle mixture was good. I also ordered a soup they are known for and it was nice and creamy had good flavor. I was a little disappointed in the sandwich. I was shocked at the size of it first of all compared to the price. Then it wasn't anything special about it. Surprise it didn't come with fries but ok. Also I would like to call out that I also had to ask for silverware after I got the sandwich. I thought this was odd. I was excited to see funnel cake fries on the menu! They came drizzled with the chocolate sauce I just wish it was a dipping sauce, but they were good. read more

Solid sandwich place that's part of a shrinking local chain, Issac's used to be all over central PA. Recently though their locations are dwindling as more and more chains open in the area. This is one of the last ones I know of outside of Lancaster City and the surrounding area. (Used to have 2-3 locations in Harrisburg and 2 in Hershey, all of since have closed) It's a nice change from the Panera's and McAlister Deli's in the area and I love the local aspect/bird theme. Sandwiches and wraps are always flavorful and their sides and free pickle mix are a plus. Staff are always friendly and helpful each time we went . Unfortunately that's where the positives stop. Recently their menu is all over the place, now offering burgers, pizzas, fried appetizers, everything Issac's used to not offer as it was a DELI. They also removed the option to swap out their chips for veggies and the price of swapping a side for the chips has gone up as well. On a recent trip we noticed the prices have increased $2-$3 a sandwich but portions are shrinking. We still plan on stopping in if we get the urge for a good sandwich but if prices continue to increase and the menu keeps changing with more "pub" offerings I think we'll be going elsewhere. read more

Been to a lot of the Isaac's restaurants in the area and this location was up to their standards. Not very busy on a Sunday evening so we could sit where we wanted and had plenty of privacy. Server was prompt and took our orders quickly and the food was served in good time. Quality of my salad was quite acceptable. The sandwiches ordered by my companions were average but tasty. No complaints. Isaac's is a good ole standby for a comfy meal. read more

A+++ Went to Isaac's, haven't been to one in ages. I happen to be in Mt.Joy. I looked at the menu and couldn't find my favorite oldie but a goodie, the Pipit. If you get this you know you select tuna or chicken salad. Oh, the decisions! Ha! It wasn't on the menu anymore. Rut-row. The cashier was SO nice. She went to a filing draw and pulled out an old menu. Wow! Super impressed. She had the chef make it for me. It was delicious too. I enjoyed every bite and every bite reminded me of how lucky I got to find a cashier who cared about service. Also, I got a large soup, Gumbo-that was tasty. Outside had tables out from and a beautiful patio. Super clean inside and organized. Go here and you'll be just as impressed. Take some family, friends, girlfriends. Was in last night Employees very loud behind counter Young man serving was pleasant at table but not very responsive to checking on tables orc clearing dirty dishes. Gentleman running food was not knowledgeable on sandwiches he was serving. We weren't ask if we wanted dessert Got our bill no where to our phone # for rewards nor were we asked. What tasty grilled sandwiches that are vegetarian. I had loved the one in Hershey many years ago, and more recently, in Exton, both of which have gone out of business. I just like how they melt a cheese, add the right sauces, and taste so good. I order the Bird of Paradise Veggie Sandwich and also the Black-Eyed Susan Veggie Sandwich. As well, we've recently tried the Pepperjack Soup and that was fantastic as well. Service at this site was particularly good, with the server really trying to accommodate the kids given it was a slow hour. While the prices are high, two of my favorite locations shut down, so that's understandable. I will definitely stop by here on my next trip to Hershey. read more

I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into Isaac's the first time. My youngest son had received a free kid's meal from the library's summer reading program, and we'd been wanting to check it out. I was expecting it to be more like Subway. Instead, Isaac's has full table service--and WAY better food. I've been twice now--the service and food is wonderful. Their ingredients are all fresh with good quality (including the avocado). I love their pretzel bun sandwiches! The soups are really tasty and not too salty like most places. Even their desserts were impressive. The two things I don't like about Isaac's are: 1) They don't serve fries, which tends to make this place more of a lunch spot than dinner and compared to other places I've been recently (Harvey's and Top That), they are quite expensive. The other places I mentioned offer hand-cut fries and still charge the same price if not cheaper. 2) Their menu is quite large and I have a difficult time choosing what to pick! I can see Isaac's as our go-to spot in Mount Joy. The bird theme -sandwich names and décor- makes this place a family fun restaurant. Celebrating its 30th year, I can see why it has prospered in Pennsylvania. Highly recommened. read more

I enjoyed this place. It's a little odd to explain the actual space. Very big but it seems they try to source things locally? I had a rose of Sharon wrap and the pepper jack tomato soup. It was better than I expected and very quick. The sandwich normally comes on a roll of some kind, but they didn't make a big deal about putting it in a wrap for me. Elizabeth was my server and she was great. I'd stop by again. They had plenty of meat and veggie options for everyone. read more

I have tried to be patient when ordering from here lately. With COVID, I know people are understaffed, and every time i order takeout from here the past few months, it is never done on time. I scheduled my food to be ready at 12pm and since I know they are understaffed, and my food is never ready at the scheduled time, I went to pick up my food at 12:20pm. The food still was not ready. It was two salads and a quesadilla. I waited another 10-15 minutes for my takeout order. I get home to eat my food and the cucumbers in my salad are completely slimy and rotten. Please see the picture of the cucumbers that were put on my salad. One of the cucumbers was only skin. I threw the whole thing away. There's a difference between being understaffed and being absolute careless. I will never eat here again. The Isaac's on Centerville Road is farther from my house, but when I order from there, the food is on time and good quality. read more

My girlfriend and I come here very regularly, and are always 100% satiated! The pepper jack tomato soup is amazing, I wish I could replace my blood with it. I've tried about half of their sandwiches and each seems better than the last. Service is always fast and friendly. I would rate 4.5 stars if I could for the "no mask no service" sign, I always comply but it seems rude for paying customers who other cannot wear one or choose not to for personal reasons. We were surprised by this little spot having been to another Isaac's before and while we enjoyed it, that one was so-so. This spot was very nice. The staff were very friendly and the food was very good. We were off peak so perhaps the lull helped though we were certainly not alone in the restaurant. The Pterodactyl used to be made with a toasted crispy baguette, which made the sandwich even better...and replaced it with a small soggy Hoagie roll. I cant believe I paid 10 bucks for this? I love Issac's! This chain has been around since I was a girl and every time they open a new one, my heart just sings! So my hometown, Mount Joy, finally has one of their own. Yeah!!!! My all time favorite sandwich is the Scarlet Ibis-thin sliced turkey, muenster, lettuce, tomato, mayo on a french roll. Simple, right? Amazing! Pair it with a Dr. Brown's Cherry Soda and I am in heaven. This place is uber kids friendly and they have a great outdoor patio area for dinning. LOVE IT! read more

Stopped in here on the way home from Pequea Creek Campground. We were pleasantly surprised by the super friendly (and fast!) service. The pepper jack tomato soup was absolutely killer and set the stage for a delicious lunch. I had a flatbread with chicken, pesto and fresh spinach, and the man-friend had a Ruben. Both were fresh and tasty and came out in a flash. My only complaint was there was no choice for fries with our sammies. As a former employee of the Isaac's company, I have to say I am still very impressed and would recommend to anyone. I tried the a cup of the Curry Chicken soup- very delicious! For the entree, the Medianoche which is on the special Global Street Food menu, (Cuban Sandwich). The pork was a little too smokey for me, but overall was great! Took the kids here for our "Eats of the Week" a few weeks ago and it is a welcome addition to the Mount Joy area. If you like Issac's then this place is right up your alley, all your favorites are there. Got the Gooney Bird while the kids tried some new combinations. It is a bit pricy for a deli sandwitch and if your doctor wants you to increase your salt intake, I highly recommend the chips. Seriously, it was like licking a salt lick. We got to PA to visit my mother in law every summer. This was our first time stopping here. She lives in York, but we stopped at this one as it was near Laserdome where I had taken my kids. Very great place to eat! Atmosphere was outstandingly clean! Employees were attentive, Greeting us as we walked in the door. There was lots of choices on the menu, and since my younger kids are picky eaters there was something for all of them. My kids' loved the "extreme purple mallow" rainbow bread served with sides of Pb&j and mini marshmallows with chips and pretzel goldfish. It was a great place to go and we will return next year. && a shout out to Matthew A-he was an outstanding server, cracking jokes with the kids and not getting aggravated with the way there so picky!!!! read more
