A good spot to go to if you're too tired to cook. You can grab takeout boxes at the front counter and pick out whatever you'd like to eat. Great for a quick meal out at home or for dine-in. They weigh your boxes and charge you after. For about 6 takeout boxes we fully filled, it ended up being about $80. I think this way is nicely worth it and helped us have more than enough for a filling meal!! Flavors and taste of the food is just alright, and isn't anything too spectacular or outstanding. The BBQ ribs (boneless) were very hard and tough to chew. The fish tasted dry too and weren't moist unfortunately. The food was cold even though I saw steam coming from it, and it lacked seasoning, making it very bland. Some items were soggy, and overall, it felt like a waste of money. To make matters worse, I saw a roach walking in the middle of the aisle, which was extremely disturbing. While the staff were polite and friendly, seeing a roach in the dining area raises serious concerns about the cleanliness of the kitchen--if there's one, there are likely many more. I was so disgusted that I paid and left immediately. This was a family outing for four people, and I will never return. Two stars because the staff was nice. A decent Chinese buffet for a price. After arriving to DJ's International buffet and saw their price $36/person, I came here instead. It's easy to find the buffet and I parked on street because I didn't see any parking area. First impression is the white light and amount of natural light instead of the warm yellow light that other Chinese buffets use makes the whole place look nicer and clean. Food is alright. Similar choice like other places: Chinese fried food, noodles, sushi, salad. I had to give them a big plus on: they serve crab and it's fresh, not the frozen watery type. Recently, my friends and I had a farewell party for one of our beloved friend and sister and everyone enjoyed the food. I enjoyed the salmon, broccoli, and string beans. Visit Date: January 9, 2020 I was freshly sprung from an awful quarantine. I am getting divorced and haven't moved yet. I am in a stage now where I am not eating much. I am eating but my stomach got smaller from too much stress and I don't eat much if I'm stressed plus I keep myself kind of busy to worry about eating. So anyway I basically got one plate in and the buffet killed me but my friend got a few plates so maybe it balanced out. The food was basic buffet food. I find buffet food in general to be two to three stars. Sometimes it's a little better. I have a gluten sensitivity and chinese is usually full of gluten. I tried to be careful in my choices and I didn't feel sick afterwards so I either made the right choices or whatever amount of gluten was in any of the sauces that may have had gluten wasn't enough to get me. I got sushi and a bunch of meat. I love meat but don't eat it often because I don't cook much right now until I eventually can move out. If anyone hears of a cheap 2 bedroom in Suffolk county under 2k that takes a cat let me know. I would come back here again but I'd go with someone who can eat so my one plate vs. their many plates would make the price more even and worth it. read more

The overall cleanliness of the food storage and preparation areas is very questionable. The seafood(salmon, shrimp, and sushi in particular) was extremely poor in quality as they were not fresh. The hibachi grill was not very clean and the preparation was greasy. The after effects included diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Mint chocolate chip is one of the options, yumyum!! There is a lot more seafood at night. Tonight there was steamed flounder and fried flounder, raw oysters, steamed clam, stuffed clam, cold mussels, cold shrimp, fried shrimp, shrimp tempura, etc. I wouldn't go for the sushi here. There are also many soup options. From the fried food station, my favorites are the wonton skin egg tart, sugar covered bread, fried cheese wonton and fried crab. The tastiest fake Chinese food is the garlic string beans. The bathrooms here could be cleaner, but you get what you pay for. I do wish there were rules for sounds because nearby kids AND sober adults were really loud. The kids were blasting cartoons and the adults were screaming all the way from the back of the restaurant and management did nothing about it. There was a tray of pizza laying there for 30 minutes with 3 little pieces left and no one was touching it cause it's been laying there so long. When I see fierce disagreements on Yelp I like to arrogantly pretend I'm the voice of reason and arbitrate these disputes. But I'm kind of stumped with Island Buffet. It's a 3.5-star place and I'm rounding up to make up for the bizarre personal attacks on employees, who seemed really nice when I was there. As noted by previous skeptics of the skeptics, this is a low-priced buffet and don't expect Michelin stars. It's not exactly a runaway access even within its category. The highly touted coconut shrimp was very good in one round but not hot enough on another. The ribs weren't visually appealing so I didn't try any. But the fried flounder was very good (watch out for bones). The sushi was o.k. Some of the simple things were done very well, like spinach. And you can get strawberries at Key Food but the strawberries I had here were the best I've had in a long time. read more

Wood that is shiny, brass and different Chinese accents. They have two ways to enter. The front and the back has a ramp for accessibility purposes. There is parking in the back as well. There were a variety of food options from fried foods, steamed, Japanese (rolls) and Hibachi. The food was decent. The service left a little more to be desired. For our drinks we had a waitress come in to serve us. Instead of leaving the drinks in a pitcher on the table they would wheel in a cart and serve the drinks and disappear. When we walked in we noticed it was quite empty but the lady took us to our seat. When we got to the table we noticed it was very small and there was a ledge blocking on one seat so the capacity would not hold. We asked the new lady who was going to be our waiter if we can sit at the table next to it since it was bigger. She immediately got an attitude and said that's for 10 you can't sit there. I am back!! My family was here few years ago, everything was just average. Therefore we stopped coming for a few years. Recently we decided to give it another try, let me tell you seriously that I am impressed. The food quality has improved so much, fresh, tasty, not over MSG (not thirsty at all) and found many new items you don't normally see at the buffet restaurants. This Chinese buffet used to be Super Grand Buffet. It was closed for renovation and opened last year as Island Buffet and Buffet. The quality of food is good most of the time. Sushi (raw fish with rice) is ok but no sashimi (raw fish without rice). Chinese selections are good especially coconut shrimp. Seafood is good especially oysters and shrimp at the salad bar. Salmon was baked and just OK. Fried chicken is good as are the soups. Pizza not so much but who goes to a Chinese buffet for pizza. Price is $1 cheaper than Flaming Grill. If it hasn't changed since the pandemic started, this was a satisfactory buffet. The selection and quality of the food was pretty good for the price and they have the hibachi grill menu which was always serving fresh and tasty options. I like that it's rarely overly crowded in there because I'm not into being closed in on. My mom and I used to go there every Sunday after church. I seems like if we sat near the windows near the sushi section, we usually had friendly waitstaff. In fact, the waitress we'd often get remembered what and how I liked my drink, I was impressed given all of the people who come through there. The ladies bathroom was clean and always stocked with everything you need, hopefully people are washing their hands. I thought I saw one of the employees walk out without doing so. Sad to see past bad reviews when the owner's dad used to own the place and with a different name. With the helm turned over to David, he has transformed the place to a work of art for both food and decor. The place ia not humongous thus giving a more homy feeling to a customer. The place is sectionalized and allows a customer to choose his or her preferred ambience. I think that this is the only buffet with a legit party room that has actual doors that can remain closed to maintain a party's privacy. Food is, for me, amazing. I had my favs coconut shrimp, bbq beef, steamed spinach, spring roll, fried battered fish, and more. I did some sushi. I was not flashy but tasty nonetheless.
