By far the worst experience in quite some time. My partner and I went to get Jamaican what we got was anything but Jamaican. After purchasing food to go we sat at the bar for a drink. We were told we couldn't eat in once we bought food to go this was strike one. The food came out as soon as we put it in and that was a big sign. No one wanted to nor knew how to make an island sunrise although it was a listed drink on the menu. Wait staff were doing each other's hair it was just some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I then understood why the restaurant was empty or so I thought. After getting the food back to the room. The picture came full circle the food was worse than the service. From old chicken to mushy rice and peas yeah I really don't recommend this restaurant nor do I see how the ratings are so high. We didn't eat the food and not looking to retry it on a good day. I ordered the ackee and saltfish with boiled yam, boiled banana, boiled dumplings, and a fried dumpling (the fried dumpling was fire). It's not the best that I've had, but I'm from Miami, so comparing food from the south to the food here isn't fair. But the food at island cuisine is solid. The new location is clean, with a bigger bar area. I always tell myself I should stop in for some drinks and just never made my way to it. The service like the food is inconsistent, but not bad.
