I am so sad that they are closed! Online, it says that they are temporarily closed. When I try their phone number, there is no answering machine. Maybe there will be another one that opens up closer to the South Tempe area, nearer to the population center. They are located at the edge of Gilbert. I love poke. There are signature bowls or build-your-own bowls. There were only five options for the signature bowls. They each have their own marinating sauce. There are five marinating sauces. OG sauce, island fin fire, pozu, wicked wahine, and shoyu. Shoyu is your basic soy sauce. The wicked wahine is a little sweet. Ponzu is usually a little citrusy tasting. I believe island fin fire was a little spicy. The OG sauce is probably what people usually get when they build their own bowl if they're not looking for something exotic. This is what is said about their marinating sauces: The OG sauce is a bold and savory flavor. It has fresh jalapeños and fresh sweet onions that marinate in sesame oil, olive oil, rice wine vinegar and a premium gluten free soy sauce. Shoyu is a premium gluten free soy sauce. Ponzu is a citrus based soy sauce. It has fresh orange juice, fresh lemon juice, and fresh lime juice that are mixed with the premium gluten free soy sauce. Island Fin Fire is their spicy sauce. It has fresh habaneros, fresh pineapple, cilantro, honey and rice wine vinegar that are mixed with their premium gluten free soy sauce. Wicked Wahine is their sweet heat. It has fresh lime juice, coconut palm sugar, and chili paste mixed with their premium gluten free soy sauce. I cant believe I had never tried poke before! I came with my sister and friend to have dinner and we all had a great meal. The two employees working were super friendly and helpful. The food was good and reasonably priced, my only complaint is that the bowl did lack a little meat. The flavors were good but most of the bowl was veggies and not enough tuna. The toppings they have to choose from are in abundance. I topped it off with Avocado cream sauce which was so yummy. I can't wait to go back and try their pineapple soft serve. Tasty cuts of lean fish (or chicken) on a bed of rice and veggies, topped with plenty of seafood garnishes that make you feel practically island-side. I usually go with white rice, then half ahi tuna, half spicy salmon. I prefer the OG sauce because I like some savory with my spicy. After that, I load up with pineapple mango salsa, seaweed, and pickled veggies, as well as an assortment of other crunchy and spicy toppings like sesame seeds and toasted coconut. Then, finish it off with one of the sauces. I like the Togarashi and Ono Ono. My wife is a fan of the avocado cream. Be picky and get what you like, or be adventurous and try something new. Depending on the day, you can sometimes get a premium topping for free. Up at the counter, they'll walk you through signature bowls with pre-identified ingredients or help you make your own custom creation with what you see in front of you. I appreciate that the ingredients are not only in front of you but also called out on the menu above, which helps when trying to figure out what to put in your masterpiece. The folks here have been very helpful. We met the owner at one point, who is just a real nice and genuine guy. It's nice to be able to support a local Gilbert franchise. Oh yeah, ambiance. It's always so clean and casual inside. There's open table seating and even a couch where you can lounge and watch the TV, which is often streaming surf videos. I finally checked this one off my bookmarked list! Located within the Cooley Station area, I had no idea this place was booming with restaurants, bars, and entertainment. The next entertainment district on the east valley. This place wasn't super busy with guests dining in, but as I ate, folks walked in to get their to go orders. Their poke was fresh, and toppings were plentiful. The only downfalls were the $2 per item cost to add premium toppings pile avocado, masago, imitation crab, and kimchi, which these toppings (minus avocado) seem to be regular toppings at other poke restaurants. Their dressing were on the light side for both poke bowls. As far as portions, I would have to say okay but slightly less than what I'd get at other poke restaurants. Their dole whip flavors came in orange, pineapple, or swirled with the two flavors. Bonus is that this also was dairy free like the regular dole whip you'd get at theme parks pile Disneyland! It's definitely worth a dole whip trip! The restaurant was clean, and the service was friendly. I would come back but not go out of my way for this spot unless I needed a dole whip fix. read more

I love Poke, so I'm always eager to try new places. As I walked in, I was greeted immediately. The place was very clean and tidy with some picnic tables for seating. The woman behind the counter was very helpful in explaining their process and the different options that were available. She described the different flavors and possible combinations. I have to admit that I wasn't really blown away from the selection of proteins or their "mix-ins." This is also the first Poke place, that I've been to, that offered options for marinating sauces. I went with the server's recommendation of combining Island Fin Fire with the Ponzu. Again, I wasn't really happy with the selection of toppings they had to offer either. I paid for my meal and the server explained their Happy Hour for the Dole Whip, a frozen Pineapple/Orange soft serve. When I got home and began to eat my Poke bowl, I was saddened to discover that the white rice that I selected was under-cooked. It was still hard in the middle. The overall flavors were... okay. I feel like I've gotten more value and selection at other Poke places. All things considered, this could have been a better experience and I don't know that I'd come back here. read more

Sooo glad Island Fin Poke was at the Yelp event I went to! I came in on a Sunday around 2 p.m. and it was empty. There is plenty of parking in front of the restaurant. They also offer DoorDash! When inside they have a bar area to sit at facing the outside (3 high top chairs), next to that is a leather couch with couple seating and two separate chairs, 2 large wood Picnic style tables (seats 8), and lastly a table with 4 metal chairs. The music is very island like and they have a large TV playing waves of the world! The two ladies working were super friendly. I ordered brown rice/spring mix, it comes with 3 proteins, which I ordered spicy tuna, salmon, and spam. Next was the mix-in which was edamame &corn. The sauces I got was OG sauce, ponzu, shoyu, & Island fire. For my toppings cucumber, seaweed, avocado, crispy onions, and crispy garlic! It turned out tasteful packed with flavor! I love how fresh everything tasted and the atmosphere. It was very welcoming and reminded me of Hawaii! My new favorite poke spot! Only request is they don't have spicy salmon. I've had poke at probably 15 different places. This place has some really special features and toppings. The OG veggies are amazing and I love having so many unique sauce options. Multiple pickled veggie options and the prices here are less than I'm used to seeing. Cool vibe inside with some couches if you want to hang out also.
