She worked with the kitchen to ensure my scallop risotto was prepared using oil instead of dairy, and I felt completely confident that my dietary needs were taken seriously. Even though it was fairly busy for a Thursday night, the service was attentive and friendly. We started with the fries, meatball soup (I didn't eat because it had dairy), and the arugula and peach salad, all of which were delicious. For our entrees, we both ordered the scallop risotto. My husband had the regular version with all the usual ingredients, while mine was modified for my allergies. He even tried my risotto and commented that there was very little difference between the two, they tasted just as good as each other! That really speaks to the skill of the chef. It's not always easy to find restaurants that can accommodate allergies without sacrificing flavor, but Slough House Kitchen absolutely delivered. My only suggestion would be to consider adding a few more gluten- and dairy-free entrée options, as well as a dessert choice for guests with food allergies. Even something as simple as a sorbet would be a welcome addition. Excellent food, outstanding service from Alisa, and a kitchen that clearly knows how to handle food allergies. We will definitely be back! Thank you.

It is a classic old building, with loads of charm. We were seated in the bar area looking out on the outdoor patio. We started with the house-made smoked salmon. I have an affinity for smoked salmon, this was by far the best smoked salmon I have ever had. But wait, it got even better as it was served with house-made bread that was toasted to perfection along with a fabulous dill sauce. It was wonderful. We then shared an arugula salad with beets and many other items. It had the most amazing dressing. The freshness of the ingredients made this simple salad fabulous. For our entree we shared the catch of the day, a barramundi served with a house-made lemon caper sauce. We humbly requested to replace our sides with some roasted vegetables. The young woman who was our server (we later found out she was an owner) said she could accommodate us. The fish was amazing. The roasted vegetables that were added as an accommodation was the highlight of the meal. They were cooked to perfection, with a smoked flavor that made it taste like o was eating vegetables for the first time. I eat out often, but this is instantly one of my favorite restaurants. I can't wait to eat there again. We already have plans to eat there this Saturday as we celebrate my girlfriend's son's 12th birthday. You MUST try this restaurant as it is worth the drive.

We ordered a few things such as as the duck prosciutto sandwich, raw oysters, clam chowder, and the absolute star of the show, a side of the spicy habanero garlic butter! The bread for the duck prosciutto sandwich was amazing. I just wish they put more meat and/or fixing because the sandwich was on the smaller side given the price tag. Tasty for sure, especially dipping the sandwich into the garlic butter. Oysters were super fresh, and wouldn't hesitate to order again. They have a bunch of jams and hot sauces that you can buy to take home, along with pre-packaged habanero garlic butter (which we ended up buying and have been putting on everything we've been eating). Definitely recommend picking up this butter for at-home cooking because it adds a nice layer of spice to any meal without being overly spicy. For the jams, there's so many options and the staff was kind enough to do a jam sampling with us and after tasting we ended up with a jar of their padron pepper jelly. Put it on my sandwich at home, instantly elevated it to another level. Staff from start to finish was a 10/10. Very kind, super attentive, and made us feel very welcomed. Overall, I'll definitely will be back to buy more of the spicy garlic butter and jams!

The server took a while to greet me but when she did, she was very sweet. I was looking for a meal not to hardy something like a small plate and I was recommended the meatballs. I had some friends there drinking some wine and they told me the wine was delicious and the food was delicious. However, when I did get my food and tried my first bite of the meat meatballs, it tasted very salty, and it looked undercooked. I was not really a big fan of the meatballs. However, I cannot speak for all the other food, which I wish I would've been able to try. If you're gonna come to this restaurant, make sure you're ready to throw down some money. It was $22 for just some meatballs and you get four of them. I had to take them home because I wasn't able to finish them and they were too salty. I would come back here again to try a different dish when I'm visiting. Hopefully next time I can give it a 4 to 5 star review!

I highly recommend anybody go here, BUT I HAVE TO SAY WHAT I HAVE TO SAY!!!!!!!!! I was there today, I do not know who the chef was (clearly not the usual one!!), but Angelica was working in the bar. I ordered my burger medium, and it was so far past well done, it was not even edible. It was dry and NOOOO!!! I always order grilled onions, and they have never once charge me for it. Today they charge me $.75 for four skinny strings of grilled onions and yet still put raw onions on my burger that I didn't want. I asked for extra pickles and did not get any extra. I ordered a glass of wine, they did not have any in the bar. Angelica went to the back and came back with a bottle of wine that was not chilled. It came right off the shelf, or at least that's what it tasted like. I had to fill the entire glass of wine with ice, and then it was watered down and was no good. If I did not take that burger to go, I would've sent the whole thing back. THEN! I pulled my salad out of the bag, it was in a teeny tiny bowl. When I eat the salad in the restaurant, it's in a big giant bowl. The salad in this little bowl was less than half of the salad I get had I eaten inside the restaurant. There is no way I will ever order to go food from old corner saloon ever again. I asked for extra lettuce, there was literally about 1/3 of the lettuce. I usually get in a regular salad when I order it inside the restaurant with my burger. Sad part is, and this could happen to anyone, if this was my first time eating at this restaurant, it would have been my last. There's no way I would've ever came back to a restaurant when they cannot get an order even close to right. #NotHappyAtAll and I just threw $47 in the trash. There is a 0% chance I will ever order "to go" food from there ever again, in fear that it will be a terrible order like it was just now. I don't have money to spare, and I literally threw $47 in the toilet today eating at old corner saloon. I could not be more disappointed.

We got the "special" buy one pound get the next pound free so we did shrimp. We got shrimp, sausage, corn, potatoes, and dungeness crab with the special blend in one bag. The hook and reel special blend was honestly pretty gross it was sweet, Smokey and not very buttery or salty at all. We asked for lemon pepper and extra butter to put inside(which was an extra charge) it made it a little better but I've definitely had better elsewhere. The garlic noodles were really good they had a soy sauce flavor, garlicky and cheesy. The price was pretty expensive considering I've spent $30 less elsewhere. Here at hook & reel I spent $96 The service was good. She was very kind and helpful but also wasn't very attentive. The restaurant and the bathrooms were very clean. Overall I wouldn't come back and I recommend going to Captain crab in Elk Grove it is so much better tasting and cheaper!!

I first made a reservation online, one week in advance for 5pm on a Tuesday. In the reservation notes, I specifically requested a table on the patio (I have a toddler that is in the throwing food on the ground phase), requesting a high chair and stating this dinner is for a 69th birthday dinner. When we arrived 5 minutes before our scheduled reservation, we had to wait almost 15 minutes past our reservation because our table outside was not ready. We had to wait for them to get cushions for the patio chairs, wait time 15 minutes. When they brought us back to the table stating it was "ready" - it wasn't; the table was not wiped down, there was not a high chair, no napkins/utinsils - needless to say, the table was still not ready. After almost 30 minutes past our reservation time, we finally sat down. Our server Nick was cool, personable and provided good recommendations. The best thing we ordered was the lobster roll. One of the best I have ever tried. They have a good selection of starters, seems to be their bread and butter at Eldo, just the starters. The oysters 1/2 doz for $24 was pretty good, nice and fresh oysters. The following entrees were pretty salty which included the Eldo Burger and Bolognese. My shrimp skewers were okay, it came with 2 skewers and the rest of the plate was a cucumber salad, a lot of roasted potatoes and 2 large homemade pita flatbread, nothing to write home about with the entrees. Pretty disappointing all together with the main dishes. With a bill of $325, sad to say Eldo is overrated in my honest opinion, sadly not rushing back for a second visit anytime soon.
