Service was amazing. The sweet lady at the register happily gave us recommendations. We ordered the kabob plate, tomato soup, and the Caesar salad grill chicken wrap as well as two smoothies. The kabob plate came with two sides (I chose rice and veggies) as well as pita and a meat choice (combo steak and chicken). The meat was tender and was flavorful. The garlic sauce also amplified the dish tremendously. The Caesar wrap was also very solid and I think it's what is really popular right now. I have been here for lunch a few times and would rate it a 3.5 to 4 but breakfast is a 2. I was looking forward to a healthy breakfast but the quinoa and oatmeal egg white pancake was awful. I rarely send things back but it was like eating tasteless cardboard with blueberries. I have a similar recipe that I make at home and it is quite tasty. I was convinced they had just messed up this batch. But the man at the counter told me that is just how they are made. So then I switched to the normal blueberry pancakes and was disappointed once again. They were dry and crumbly. The texture and flavor weren't good at all, akin to box pancakes. Welcome clean atmosphere outside of need to put a coat to use the bathroom. It was a great experience from entering to exiting parking. A quick stop at this beautiful restaurant, welcomed by such kind staff! I was quite surprise at how beautifully decorated this restaurant was; quite impressive for a "mom and pop" place. I ordered their Mediterranean Grilled Chicken Pita and I have no regrets. The pita bread itself was amazing; flavorful, lick your finger kind of sandwich as you taste the reminisce of whatever they've brushed over their pita. The fluff on it was great, as well. As simple as the sandwich was, the grilled chicken with the chopped up lettuce, tomatoes and mushrooms were just what I needed. Reporting back that they are now providing pita again with the tabbouleh, so that is one step back in the right direction. Quality control still needs to improve. I shouldn't have to open every single box when I have a to-go order to make sure everything was prepared correctly. I pick up my own orders, but imagine food delivery services, they definitely should not be opening and picking apart the boxes. This week, I ordered a gyro pita with an EXTRA side of tatziki which I paid extra for. I received one side of tatziki. The gyro pita comes with tatziki, so i should have received the one tatziki from the gyro pita order plus my extra one, 2 in total, but no, only got one. My husband ordered the angus beef burger and added cheese and bacon, both for an extra fee. When he opened his meal when I got home it was literally just a plain bun and patty, no bacon or cheese. Why do we pay extra for these items if they won't even be provided? It's frustrating to leave a 20% tip and then get home to find an inaccurate order. I want a refund for the items I paid extra for and didn't receive, plus tip! read more

I stopped by Island Grill for dinner after an event in the area. Located in The Galleria area, you can find parking without too much trouble. They share the lot with several other businesses. You order at the counter and then they bring your food to you. Island Grill has a mix of food including both Greek and American dishes, with a focus on sandwiches and salads. They also have smoothies which is always a plus in my book. I went with the gyro sandwich with fries. I love a good gyro and this one didn't disappoint. The pita bread was fluffy. The gyro meat tasty. And the tzatziki and tomatoes made a good complement to the meat and bread. The fries were also well seasoned. Faysal, the owner, has been a gracious host year after year putting together a great menu with delicious food. A few weeks ago they catered a dinner for us at our home. Christina handled all of the details flawlessly. She helped us choose the perfect menu for our guests and order the correct amount, something hard to do with most catering. They have such great people taking care of you they greet you each and every time you walk in and out of the restaurant I truly enjoy my time when I come here. I've been coming here for years and I'm never really disappointed. My top 3 go to items are the Java jolt, salmon omelette, and island grill salad with chicken. They have free frozen yogurt for customers which is always good. Depending on the time you go it can get busy and there's only 2 registers but everyone is always friendly and tries to get everything out quick when it is busy. The food took awhile to get but once it got here the portion was good, it tasted fresh and apparently the chicken is hormone free and the fish is wild caught. Very reasonable priced for healthy food. The staff is friendly and attentive. The parking is limited but people don't usually dine in for dinner. They come to pick up and leave. I'll definitely be coming back to try the rest of their menu.
